Aaron (00:00.14)
hate trying to look up anything on a wiki because wikis are always the worst with ads it'll be like it'll be like the dumb one the dumb little fucking bars on the bottom they have like the tiniest tabs with the down arrow and then you'll get like the shit coming in from the every side and then the shit side on top you will come down from the top to take up the whole screen and shit that's the

What's the website? What's it? Fextralife is like the worst for that.

Facture life, that's a good one. God damn it. I can't fucking stop coughing either.

Aaron (00:43.886)
Hello everybody. Hey, it's Super Ghost. We're back. It's the bros this time around. Jerry's gone. Yeah, once again. Is that the same outfit you wore the last time it was just us?

I don't think so. don't take this guy up very often.

Hmm. Okay. I feel like we commented on that bat necklace, but

Maybe well, we'll have to check the check the archives and see I'm pretty sure that it's not however

Well, yeah, today, all we really had planned was we're just going to quickly talk about what games we've been playing. I've fucking had quite a week. So we'll talk about what that doesn't have anything to do with what we're talking about. We'll go about the games we're talking about. I don't really have any news. And then we'll just go into the recent Nintendo Direct Partner, Partner Direct, Partner Announcements, whatever, Direct Announcements. And then.

Aaron (01:44.194)
Brex and then get the hell on out of here. Wrecked on out of here.

get right out of there, you know?

Greg (01:55.818)
So, not exactly video game news, I just went to Kotaku, it the first video game website I could think of. Dead center of the webpage is an article that says, the Winter Olympics will make sure nobody cheats by injecting their penis past-

and like dead

Aaron (02:10.83)
my god, yes, I mean no, but yes, that's cool. What?

Alright, I'm not gonna click more. I feel like I don't need any more context to that.

They're gonna make sure that nobody cheats by injecting their penises with acid or people-

It's unclear. It's unclear if people are injecting their penises with acid and that's a way they cheat or it's like if you if you cheat you're not gonna get banned we're gonna just inject your penis with acid.

like it's the punishment, okay.

Greg (02:46.345)
There's no way to know.

There's three ways I'm interpreting this and like none of them sound cool or fun actually.

I'm not going click either. We're going be ambiguous for the world.

Like at the end of Cool Runnings it turns out they were cheating so they get all their dicks get injected with acid.

Right?

Aaron (03:09.154)
Deal.

So actual news. This is one thing, this is something that I did hear about this week, and that's that Overwatch, or Overwatch 2 that is, is rebranding, relaunching as just Overwatch. And I think they're doing, I watched a whole video on it, and it's actually pretty interesting. they're adding 10 characters to the game throughout this year.

Five are launching I think or revealed already A jetpack cat is one of them And listen jetpack cat jet. It's hard to say jetpack cat I Don't know. I'm into jetpack cat but they also added things like passives to each of the heroes now That they didn't have before based on their role and some character flavor stuff. They did a lot They did a lot. I haven't played overwatch in many a year

Yeah, one's a jetpack.

Aaron (04:07.756)
I thought they already had. When I first started playing Overwatch 2 many a year ago, they had passives for each role, I'm pretty sure. Like healers got a passive heal while they're healing or like tanks took reduced damage or something. Is that the same thing or is it different?

No, it was more character specific.

So like there's like sub roles within the roles now. Quick to Reddit. I know. Let's see here.

Eww. I'll tell you.

Aaron (04:41.688)
I think,

Aaron (04:45.71)
Doesn't Reaper have one where he lifesteals or some shit or did they change that? It used to be like the orbs and then it was lifesteal or something stupid.

Okay. So, okay, here we go. So, um, that was just like, uh, that was just like a Reaper passive, but so like for tanks, for example, they're, they break it down into subclasses like bruiser initiator stall war. There's reduces critical damage received, um, well at critical health gain movement speed. And so that applies to like road hog and Zaria and stuff like that.

It's like bruises.

Greg (05:22.422)
initiator staying airborne lightly heals you. So Diva who can fly, for example, will get a passive heal when she's flying. Things like that. like there's different classes, subclasses within the three main classes is what it looks like.

That's kind of cool, I guess. I know that they said that they're going to have more story to go along with it now too. Because like, didn't they have a whole shit ton of story planned and then they canned it or something?

Well, yeah, that was like the whole thing with Overwatch 2. think that's something that Jeff Kaplan wanted to do. And then when he left, they just totally didn't do it. And it's it's they they kept saying they were working on it. They were trying. I guess it was they couldn't get it to what they wanted. So they eventually scrapped it. So now what they're doing is they're doing like many like seasonal stories, very similar to Marvel rifles, where it's just kind of like

a background story, but the one they're doing right now is all about talent, which is like the evil Overwatch. And then the example they showed is like, when you start at the season, you choose who you want to ally with. Do you want to be part of talent or do you want to be part of Overwatch? And then I guess it, your story plays out through there.

Okay, that's kinda cool.

Greg (06:45.034)
Yeah, so like the game is completely refreshed. Will I go back to it? I don't know. Hard to say. Hard to say. It's been so long since I've played Overwatch. I feel like I'm too out of practice. But if there's like a large influx of people coming in and we can all be trashed together, then hell yeah, maybe I'll hop back in.

Yeah, I've thought about it.

I used to, I used to have a killer roadhog. Like he was, he was, he was insane.

I miss the old days of Overwatch one Roadhog man back before they back before they nerfed him into the ground a little bit when the hook could go like goddamn near across the map and then the shotgun just dead

I was like hook, shoot, melee. That was your combo. And then you got it.

Aaron (07:32.248)
Hooks? yeah.

Hook shoot melee. That was a menace. I never played a single second of a watch too, but who knows? The new hero is, you did, yeah?

I did it was it was alright like having only one tank kind of fucking sucks but I mean I guess it's faster but also like the one tank I know you die a lot it just it doesn't feel as good like as fun as Overwatch 1 I they also changed like every character way too fucking much for me

I think now they're just going the Marvel Rivals route and instead of trying to do a lot of balance, they're just gonna keep adding more characters. Each one more in balance than the last.

God damn it. Still having nightmares over Daredevil. God damn it. That dude is so fucking broken. Let the devil out! And then everything just fucking explodes and dies. Fuck that guy.

Greg (08:33.422)
is do they increase the the the player cap in Overwatch two because I they lowered it but then I thought they I heard they brought it back up because over what was overwatch one over watch one was what was it 66?

Yeah, was 6v6. was 6v6. you could have like, you could have two tanks, two DPS, two healers. But yeah, now it's, well not now. In Overwatch 2 when that first came out, I don't know if they've changed it yet, but it used to be 5v5.

Yeah, it was 5-B-5. I feel like I heard that they put it back.

Cool if they did. Did they take off roll lock? Come on,

I'm sure that's still in competitive.

Aaron (09:24.206)
Yeah, it goes. Incompetitive makes sense. Like, in Rivals, not in competitive in Rivals, but like in Rivals, in just like regular quick matches, I guess it depends on who you're playing with, but you can usually get away with like four DPS and two healers or like all healers. There's like three tanks and three healers. I don't know. That shit's fun.

So looks like they did walk it back and there are, I think the main mode is 5v5, but they brought back some 6v6 modes.

Greg (09:57.23)
looks like. I'm not an Overwatch expert so know grain of salt with what I'm saying.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I miss Zarya though. Zarya. Only saying Rip because I- She's still there. She is. just saying, I'm saying Rip because I don't ever play the game.

I don't mean either anything else for news

was gonna say there's this one's for Jerry in the the Japanese version of that of the direct today that we'll cover here in a little bit there was a big old Goemon collection announced 13 retro Goemon titles announced coming to Switch in Japan this July and looks like it goes all the way up to Gameboy Color there are no N64 ones though so never mind

Maybe Jerry might not give a shit.

Greg (10:51.502)
You said that's only in Japan? Because no one knows who Goemon is here.

Yeah, only in Japan.

Except Jerry.

He's the only one.

And then I knew about it a little bit before him, guess. mind. I was going say I knew it from him by proxy, but yeah.

Greg (11:07.471)
He keeps saying I need to play it and it's like my brother this will never happen.

My brother, I just put in a hundred hours into Diablo four last night. Time for go mon.

I don't have time for Goa'man. Anything else for news? I don't think I see too much here. With Threadbare on news, looks like.

about it that's yeah it feels like something overwatch they never should have made it overwatch too it should have just stayed overwatch and then yeah that's enough of that though

I think I, you know what, I just got through a book by Jason Schreier, it's called Play Nice, The Rise and Fall of Blizzard. The Rise, Fall and Future of Blizzard. Very, very interesting. And it sheds some light on what happened with all of that stuff and where it went from there. it's very interesting, very interesting read.

Greg (12:19.086)
Shall we dive right into the partner showcase direct that we saw today?

That or do you do want to talk about anything you've been playing or you still just going on?

yeah, yeah, that's the format of this show. I've been playing two things lately. So I had some just backgrounds. I had my buddy come over with his son, his son is six. And so I went on PSN and I just downloaded all the stuff that is like six year old friendly. And one of the games I found was was Dave the Diver, which I had played a bunch of, but I never finished.

I

Greg (12:56.566)
And so I downloaded that and I tried to like hop in and it was like, it had been so long. I had no idea what I was doing with any aspect of the game. So I restarted and that game is good as hell. And so I've been playing a lot of Dave the Diver.

these days.

trying to get back to where I was. And at the same time as that, I've been playing Witcher 3 again. Why I picked up Witcher 3 again, I don't even know, honestly, but I started playing Witcher 3 again. And that game is a treat.

that's when I first got my switch to for some odd reason, the first game I thought of the first game I bought is I was like, look at all these cool new look at the all these cool new switch to games I can I can buy and play. And then all of a Dave the diver was on sale for five bucks. And I was like, cool, Dave the diver and I bought and played that but I never did beat that either man.

I really fucking love the restaurant sim shit. That shit is so fun.

Greg (14:12.214)
The restaurant management is so, so good. It's so good. I don't like my favorite part. Go ahead.

I kind of wish there was more of it. Like sometimes I just don't want to go back into the water and go get fish anymore I want to just stay in the fucking restaurant

Well, I don't know if they added it, but you now have the option to skip time.

Yeah, I think there is a thing for that actually.

So like, think you could, I've never done it, because I do every part of every single day, but I you could skip forward right to the evening and open the restaurant.

Aaron (14:46.456)
Do you lose out on fish though? Okay.

yeah, you're not getting any fish. That's what I you have, have the, have like the fish farm set up and you can supply from that, but.

Yeah, Sometimes I fucking hated going like all the way back into the water going all the way down. Like the I mean, I guess like the spearfishing is kind of cool and like finding cool new items and exploring and shit like that is kind of cool. But God damn the the restaurant sim shit like grading grading wasabi is so fucking fun. Grabbing like drinks and shit off the counters. That's so good.

I know, right? But what I do now, what I do with the fishing now is I guess the game wants me to progress the story, but I'm like, no, no, I need this specific fish. I need a bunch of them so I can get that for my menu. And now I fishing just to supply my menu. That's how I think of it. Like the story stuff it wants me to do, it can wait. I gotta stock up the restaurant. I gotta stock up the restaurant.

can wait. can play second. You gotta get those sharks or whatever to make that to make that disgusting looking like shark face fucking suit. Yeah. Roasted shark head. That's what the fuck it was.

Greg (16:02.988)
The roasted,

Greg (16:13.934)
Everything about it is so well done. It's nearly, nearly a perfect game.

I like the that when you're on the boat or pretty much wherever when you like flip open your phone you have like games and like all these other apps like you have full-blown

Yeah, it works like a phone. There's a calculator.

Yeah, I have a screenshot on my switch of me typing in boobs on the calculator like nice.

Yeah, no, it's they there's so much attention to detail more than it needs. Like if it didn't have the normal phone stuff, no one would know. No one would care. But put it in there anyway.

Aaron (16:51.992)
They did. And we love it.

They did the program a calculator, but they did.

What else have you playing besides Dave the Diver?

Witcher three. Yeah. It's basically just been data diver and Witcher three is what I've been doing. And, the game still holds up. looks, it looks great. Game came out 2016. And I'm playing it without like the high res textures and everything. And it just, it holds up and it plays well. Like the controllers are, the controls are a little, you know, spotty as it always was, but now it's, it's still good.

Bulldog,

Aaron (17:29.934)
See

Still that good good.

I missed that Witcher combat, especially the Witcher 3 combat. It felt like a dance almost. You have to dance around the enemy and then silver sword attack and then fucking fire spell and shit.

Yeah, no, totally. so I don't know about how you play that game, but when I play the game, have a very, the only way I play is like the quests and stuff, much like Dave the Diver is all secondary. What I do is I pick up all like the like the monster contracts. And I do as many of those as possible until I am no longer of a level to do them.

Jesus Christ.

Greg (18:19.862)
And that's that's my preferred way to play the game. I was just doing a master contract as much as possible. So like I and like you negotiate like you're rewarded people. So like, I am flush with cash and like not very far into the story.

Well...

Aaron (18:35.342)
You gotta fund that adventure dude. That's that's the way to do it like you wouldn't you wouldn't go out to Hollywood and Expect to get my have money when you get there. You'd make that money before you go Which your goes to Hollywood

You gotta wait some tables.

Yep. But, I'm just remembering so much stuff from that game. Like as I play it now and like how like open ended it is, like, I don't know if you did this when you played or if you remember, but like, I was trying to go to, Novograd. No, no, sorry, not Novograd, to Oxford and like, you need a pass to get into the city at the beginning of the game. And they wouldn't let me across the bridge. And so I was like, fine. And I swam across the river and I was like, I'm in the city and no one cared. was, it's like.

The game just let me do it. Like there are so many games where you would do that. You'd either get like invisible walled or you get teleported back to shore. But no, I just bypassed needing a pass and swam across the river and then got all the fast travel points. It was great.

I feel like Skyrim totally would have done that to you. Give you like an invisible wall I mean or had like guards come up and fucking murder you

Greg (19:41.39)
I'm just like a locked a locked door.

I remember getting that game back when it came out the Witcher 3 I mean I remember getting the Witcher 3 back when it came out and I played the shit out of it for like a good amount of time and like me and my roommates and my my other friend who didn't live with us we were all playing it like at the same time we were sharing stories of what we were doing I fucking haven't picked it up since though like I don't think I ever beat it or anything I just oh really played it for six months straight

got very burnt out, stopped playing, haven't touched it since like 2015 or 2016 when it came out.

2016 I think well, no, maybe 2015 last time I played it was 2016 Apparently I've definitely played it since then I think probably on a console So it's that's why my steam says I haven't played it. But What I'll tell you is if that's the case you probably haven't played those DLCs, right?

team.

Aaron (20:38.83)
I think I did play a little bit of blood and wine. that what it was?

Yeah, yeah, Blood and Wine is good, is like the big one, and then Hearts of Stone, Heart of Stone is a little bit smaller. They're both good. I think I like Heart of Stone a little bit more, because it's just such a good story, but, ugh, it's so, so good.

Remember there being, I don't know if this was part of the DLC or not, maybe it part of the regular game. There was a side quest with a werewolf and no, it was just a werewolf. And I think, like, it's cool how that game, and I guess this goes for like any other open world game, but like you can, what the fuck am I trying to say here?

The outcomes of some of the regular ass side quests can lead to totally different shits like the like with that werewolf quest if you if you don't talk them out of attacking the rest of their family or Don't talk about of attacking the rest of their village. I forget you know, then they'll go out and

I think I did this quest last time I played. what it is is you get a notice on the board because someone's wife has gone missing. And then you do investigation. And while you're doing it, the wife's sister is like, no, she's been gone so long. There's no point in looking for her. She's probably dead. And then I choose the option, like, no, I was hired to do a job. I'm going to do the job.

Greg (22:14.378)
And I go and I look and she's been like torn apart. And then you, you establish it's a werewolf. You go through the story threads. And then when you find the werewolf, you find the, the werewolf ends up being the wife's husband. And it was the wife's sister who, who caused everything. basically the wife's sister wanted, wanted the wife to see that her husband was a werewolf. And so she.

took, she told, she took her, sister to the werewolves like den to see her husband change. But then her husband came a werewolf and like tore her to pieces. But she's like, no, no, I, I love him. I should be with him. I can accept him and stuff like that. And you have to choose whether to like spare them and let them, let them live. Or if you're going to kill the werewolf.

If you or if-

Or if you're gonna or or if you're gonna let him because he's He's he's horrified to learn that he killed his own wife and it was because of his sister-in-law so you have the option to Kill the werewolf leave them both or to like let the werewolf kill the sister-in-law

If you leave both, does that still end with her getting killed?

Greg (23:36.098)
Maybe it's only the two options, because I think it's you can either leave and then he's going to kill her or you can kill the werewolf.

Yeah, that shit's really cool. because I guess like that shit kind of works that way in like Fallout games and stuff too, but I feel like goddamn near every side quest in The Witcher had that open-ended, I guess, that they were very open-ended like they could end in so many different kinds of ways. That shit was really cool.

There's always a choice to make and it usually has a noticeable impact or difference.

It's not like, there's so many games where it's like they give you the illusion of choice, but you usually end up at the same outcome. Like they're really good about choosing, having like meaningful choices.

Yeah, I need to go back to that fucking game. And Dave the Diver.

Greg (24:38.114)
Yeah, they're both good. Did you see any footage when they showed a few months ago of like the Witcher 4 like gameplay and like engine stuff?

No. What the fuck?

Oh, you didn't know about this? It looks, I'll send it to you after. It looks so, it looks so good. There's so little to see, but it looks so good what they do show.

But when did that come out?

It might've, I think it was, I think it was around the summer when it came out.

Aaron (25:05.496)
shit.

Yeah, no, they showed like, was basically like a tech demo. But what they showed was so good. It's like beyond, I went from being like, yeah, I'm excited for The Witcher 4 to be like, I'm excited for The Witcher 4.

So

Greg (25:37.08)
What have you been playing, sir?

Fuck what half-time I'm I was sick like super sick Monday. I mostly just like slept and watched the shield but I started trying to play Shadow Hearts, which is this like very weird PS2 RPG. I got into maybe like the first two hours of it and then

Lo and behold PS2 emulation still sucks and the game would slow down to like It would start running at 50 % speed and that shit is just like unacceptable like it'd be different if it was like maybe If it slowed down to like maybe 30 frames per second I could deal with that but no it just ran at 50 % speed So that can suck my whole ass I'm not doing that

Yeah, we can't tolerate that.

Which is a shame because this game is really fucking cool like right as soon as you start the game Alright, so I'm gonna paint you this picture. So the opening like the opening to the whole game There's this train rattling on these tracks through the night The Sir Topham Hatt looking motherfucker These just like sauntering through the train. Well, not really saunter but he's he's cruising through the train

Aaron (27:05.038)
And then you cut to see this like blonde haired girl sitting there and she's just, you know, riding the train. And then Sir Topham Hatt starts slitting people's throats as he makes his way to the blonde haired girl. And, I mean, he's just basically like making his way over to her. He's going to capture her. So she's running away. More soldiers throw themselves at Sir Topham Hatt. He's slaughtering them all. And then finally you see this like little Grim Reaper ghost that's going.

Circling all around slashing people around Sir Topham Hatt And then you get to the end of the train. no, there's nowhere for me to go. I'm the blonde girl There's nowhere for me to go. I'm cornered then Sir Topham Hatt is here He's angry and then this like This Terry Bogard looking motherfucker Punches his way through the the roof of the train and he's like He's yeah

Sounds like Terry Bogard.

He's very well, or no. What's the one from from grew or grow Rock Howard.

It's a Rock Howard kind of guy, okay.

Aaron (28:16.14)
Yeah. So yeah, he punches his way through the roof of the train. And then then then you fight Sir Topham Hatt. And it's just it's fucking nuts. Eventually you make your way to the roof. You you beat Sir Topham Hatt's ass. You jump off the train and Sir Topham Hatt for some reason doesn't jump off the train chase after you. He just like watches you as he's going all the way down and you just still riding the train at the distance.

man, it's so cool. Like the combat is, it's got this cool like judgment wheel system where it's basically just timed hits. Like when you do an attack or spell, even an item, you know, this wheel will pop up and then you have to stop the the you have to stop the wheel in like certain sections. Like if you're doing a regular attack, you to stop the wheel and like this triangle and then this triangle or like, or I guess maybe

Triangle isn't a good word for it. Section of the wheel, I guess. Segment, there we go. the more segments that you do hit on that wheel, the more damage you'll do, or the more damage you'll heal with the healing spell, or yada yada yada. And right after getting off that train,

segment.

Aaron (29:41.314)
You walk through these grasslands and then you get to this fucking cannibal village and that was really cool too. I just wish there was like a port of any fucking kind on PC or on fucking Xbox or anything. Cause like it's either emulated or pay fucking $300 for a physical copy and I don't want to do that. It's a load of shit. Stupid. So stupid.

But, you know, shelved that. And I noticed on Blue Sky the other day, everybody's raving about this game Hermit and Pig. Have you heard about this game?

I have for an affirmative pick.

dude. All right. So I bought that. And that game is really fucking cool. I came across a bug maybe an hour into the game though. So I had to stop playing it for a little bit. But I emailed the devs for the game. And within maybe like 30 minutes or 25 minutes, they responded. They were like, oh, we updated the game for you now. Go ahead. It's good now. And it worked again.

That's a rarity where the dev will read your email, respond to it. And I'm sure you weren't the only one who experienced that, that issue, but they still updated it.

Aaron (31:02.476)
Yeah, and it was like a full on update. had to restart Steam, update the game, bam, it worked beautifully. They were like, there you go, it should work now. Sure enough, it did. And it's a fun little RPG, just another time to hit RPG where there's this old man who really fucking loves wild mushrooms. Like, you're only, the only items.

Hell yeah.

Greg (31:29.198)
I've seen where pig comes in.

my god, yeah, like the ones that pig can stuff out. Those are the ones that you're used to to revive yourself or pig, guess. But the only items that you pick up are mushrooms, like just different kinds of mushrooms. There's like, there's bud mushrooms, cremini mushrooms. Your first quest is to collect five golden chanterelles. Combat is like...

Combat is really weird too, because it's... So there's six different attacks that you can do, but rather than selecting them from a menu, because it's like punch, kick, slap, cane, I forget what the others are, but instead of picking them from a menu, you'll have to do combinations of the face buttons in a combo kind of way, so like stomp is...

up up down or slap is like left right right or something yeah and each enemy has their own weakness to that kind of thing too like stomp is for like really short enemies slap is

interesting.

Greg (32:44.972)
You're almost doing like fighting game inputs.

Yeah, that's true. Yeah. punch and punch and kick were the other two that I forgot somehow, even though this seemed like very basic fucking actions. And yeah, yeah, punch was the right right, right left, whatever. But yeah, the game is chock full of stupid fun humor. It's a it's pretty good game so far. But I don't have a whole lot more to say about it because I had to wait for

for 25 minutes to be able to play it some more.

It makes me think of that Nicolas Cage movie, which I believe was also called Pig.

What?

Greg (33:29.644)
You know, the Nicolas Cage movie where he plays like an old man in the woods with a pig and then they take his pig or they kill his pig or something and it's very John Wick. haven't seen it. It makes me think John Wick. He's got to his pig back or avenge his pig. Something to do with his pig.

Aaron (33:54.286)
pig let's dig into that that D wrecked

All right, first thing they showed off was the was orbitals. That's the the co-op game that has kind of like the the retro anime style. I am I'm such a sucker for like retro anime, like the style. And so it looks so good to me. And then like the it's very puzzly from what they showed. it looks it looks like, know,

looks up my alley, you know, I might, I might give this one a go. I need to find someone to play it with, but I think I'll give this one a go. You know, it's doing the, the thing that the, it takes two and split fiction developer does where they, has like the friends pass where one person has to buy it. And then the other person can, can, can play, play for free.

Hell yeah, I love when devs do that. That's good.

Hell yeah. Next game they showed was Paranormous Sight, The Mermaid's Curse. I believe this is a horror visual novel slash detective game situation. I didn't play the first one. I don't know if you played it.

Aaron (35:09.388)
did not, but I know Jerry and Beth like these.

Jerry and Beth played it. I got it for Jerry, or what's called a random Greg Christmas where I feel like I have a lot of money and I just buy my friends video games. that was a game I got them and they really enjoyed it. So sequel for them, which is good.

Nice.

Aaron (35:30.0)
Looks kinda cool.

It was kind of cool. Keep moving. Keep on moving. We have Captain Tsubasa 2, the anime soccer game based on the anime, the same name. I have the first one downloaded because it looks so wacky and fun. Just like playing soccer, but being super anime.

I've seen those fuckers all over like the DS and 3DS. know those are pretty fucking huge in a Holy shit, I'm burping a fucking storm over here. They are fucking huge in the PAL regions in Japan and shit and I've always wanted to try one of those because it looks like insane those special moves or that one kid has the the fucking bulldozer fucking power

shadow thing, whatever you want to call it, the illusion thing, like one kid's a fucking tiger, the other one's like a dinosaur. And this one's just a fucking bulldozer. Like, hell yeah, that's cool,

Yeah, I Like I said, I have it downloaded on my PlayStation. I should just give it a try one day.

Aaron (36:36.142)
Let us know. Let us know how it is. He'll be our ambassador.

Maybe maybe maybe next episode, I'll let you all know. No.

Greg (36:46.126)
Alright, what's next? Tokyo Scramble. So this was the looks like a survival horror game where dinosaurs.

Home Alone Dinosaurs?

Yeah, where it looks like a wrecked, wrecked, I'm assuming Japanese subway system because it's Tokyo Scramble. Yeah. But I thought it looked like, this looks interesting. I'm not going to play it ever, but I like dinosaurs.

Yeah, and the multiplayer was kind of funky because it's like, one player controls the lady, the other person controls the camera, another person controls the items.

controls the camera.

Greg (37:27.63)
I forget what it was, but like if ever you wanted a surefire way to make someone yell at their friends, that's it right there. What the camera?

Yeah, the one person controlling the camera, that seems like the be-all end-all of that whole fucking run.

Yeah.

What's next?

We've got Valheim coming to a lot of this direct was ports. We have, but it's, but it's ports of things that the switch one could never have dreamed to have run. So we have Valheim coming to switch to you are planning Valheim.

Aaron (38:01.738)
My brother and my friend used to play that game a lot, but I'm not a big survival game kind of person.

No, me neither. Me and Jerry, we played for a little bit and I got obsessive about building a tower. Like I wanted to build the tallest structure possible. And I did it. And then we never played again.

The tallest possible like did it uh, I don't ever mind what's next?

was just a tall square building.

Nice. Just a house.

Greg (38:38.028)
Yeah, but tall, tall as fuck. We got a shadow drop of Hollow Knight port for Switch 2, which is confusing to me because I'm pretty sure that was on Switch 1. So I'm not sure what is gained by doing this.

I think probably just better resolution and frame rate.

But like, I don't like, did it was it not running like, was it running badly on switch one like resolution? Okay, maybe I guess but

It was fine, yeah, it was.

Yeah, I don't. And it was like a bit cash grabby.

Aaron (39:18.146)
Yeah, well, yeah, because if you own the if you own the the switch one game, and you played on or holy shit. If you own the switch one game, though, on switch to you'll get the Yeah, that's what I'm fucking trying to say. God damn, my brain is smoked.

No worries, no worries. Yeah, you get that free upgrade. But that's gonna cost money. Yeah, they didn't charge for it. I still would have thought though that if they were gonna sell it, they would have done like, I would have done it if if I were head of Team Cherry, I would have sold it as like a bundle with Silksong. So it doesn't, it doesn't feel it doesn't feel as predatory that way, in my opinion.

Good for my brain

Aaron (40:00.61)
Yeah

Aaron (40:05.294)
Yeah, because fucking like you said it when did Hall Night come out 2015 2014?

a while ago. think it's, it's, I don't know if it's that old.

I can't imagine it running that badly on Switch 1 that it doesn't really need this new Switch 2 port. Yeah, so even still then, whatever.

It came out in 2017.

Greg (40:31.31)
All right. Up next is e football.

forgot about this.

Yeah. I think it's, it's made by the, the previous winning 11 Debs, which is the, which was always the other, the other soccer game that wasn't FIFA. And so like, it's the kind of situation where it was like, Hey grandma for Christmas, want, I want, I want, I want, I want FIFA. then Christmas comes and you get winning 11. You're like, thank you grandma.

I went to the drug store and I got you FIFA and yeah, it's just you soccer or whatever the fuck you said

Yeah, yeah.

Aaron (41:10.786)
I said what it was.

No, winning 11, winning 11. We'll move right on though. Okay, now we have some of we have the adventures of Elliot, the Millennium Tales.

shit.

This is a HD 2D game. I don't know if you can speak to it because full disclosure I was watching the direct on my way to work today and at this point I had fallen asleep in the back of the

Yeah, they this one does look kind of cool. It looks like a Rhymes me a little bit of like an RPG that we'd get on the DS back in the day like a little globetrotting time traveling adventure, but yeah, it looks kind of cool I Didn't pay attention to a little bit of it though because at the time I was I was doing some work at home But I mean, it does look kind of cool. I like they're giving more

Aaron (42:08.098)
I like that they're making more new original games with the HD 2D style instead keeping it for just the remakes and ship.

Yeah.

Greg (42:17.582)
Mix of everything, yeah. So yeah, it looks okay. It looks like it's an original thing, which is good.

Name doesn't suck. It's not various day life or True.

It's not some random ass name.

turn the other ones but that's about it.

Okay, what else we got here a super bomber man collection

Aaron (42:44.494)
fuck. Yeah, I'm excited for this. That's that's on there right now. I'm pretty sure

Release August 2026.

fuck. I'm thinking of something else.

Digital version, sorry, I apologize. Digital version came out today. Physical release in August.

Hell yeah.

Aaron (43:03.96)
There were so many fucking Bomberman games on Super Nintendo. Holy shit, I'm excited to get this fucking shit. I really wish they would release some... Fuck, there's so many versions of Bomberman. I can't even wrap my head around that, but I wish they would release Saturn Bomberman on something that's not Sega Saturn. I'm gonna miss that game.

Confession time I have never played a Bobberman game Dude I know I know I know how he works. I know his job, but I've never played a Bobberman game

Dude, you're missing out. Bomberman is so fucking good. One of these nights, we'll have to get you, me, Jerry, and Beth, and we'll do a four-man Bomberman. There's nothing better. Nothing better than a cool ol'

I can tell you, I can tell you there's one person in the list of names you mentioned who will not be playing Armorman.

Who, you say Beth, I... No, we'll get Beth to play.

Aaron (44:02.636)
or is it you?

No, no, it's, it's, it's Beth. It's probably me as well, but you know, I, I won't, I was, I was referring to Beth, but you know, if you catch me on the right day, I'll play some Barberman.

It's fun. It's awesome. I guarantee you'll have a good fucking time, man. It's wacky shit.

I don't doubt it. don't doubt it. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Switch 2 Edition.

That was another one that was no it was not available today. It's like July wasn't it?

Greg (44:32.791)
June 3rd.

June 3rd, okay.

I was talking to Jerry and we didn't have an answer at the time. Did seven remake come out on switch?

Yeah, it came out like just the other day, I'm pretty sure. Like, oh, did it? Yeah, like just a few days ago.

Okay, that makes sense then. Because I was like, I because I was like, there's no way seven remake was on the goddamn switch that thing would have turned into a pile of goo.

Aaron (44:59.926)
No, yeah, no, never.

in smoke.

So that makes sense. We've here, we've got Pragmata. We've all seen Pragmata, we know what it's all about.

Yeah, she looks cool.

Yep. Spaceman Girl Dad. New Turok game, Turok Origins. I'm curious. I'm curious as to why how it's called Turok Origins when you're definitely playing as some kind of spaceman.

Aaron (45:35.406)
That's a good question. I think about that. I um... I don't know.

That's kind of space truck.

Space rock.

Yeah, but that looked interesting. I was I was not a Nintendo household growing up. And I was definitely team Sony over team N64. That's what we had. I haven't really played a Turok game. I played a demo for the one that was that came out on like 360 PS three.

the reboot?

Greg (46:07.692)
Yeah, and I just remember like going up to like herbivorous and stabbing in the head with a knife. I feel like this game is fucking wild.

even the N64 game was pretty fucking wild there was a it was the there was a weapon called the cranial bore then you

I know of the cranial bore.

Okay cool, yeah, I'll hail that one, that was a cool fucking weapon.

Mm hmm. All right. Yeah. Now we've got Kyoto Xanadu.

Aaron (46:42.474)
Oh, yeah, I forgot about this too.

internet reality.

This game looks kind of cool.

Yeah, don't know what this is. This looks like some of your classic anime bullshit.

It looks like it was a 2D action game side scroller. Is this a Metroidvania? Do we know? Or is it a 2D action game?

Aaron (47:09.774)
I think it's a 2D RPG. I know like the previous Tokyo Xanadu, that shit was almost like Persona. Well, I this one is also almost like Persona, but I don't know if Tokyo was just like this one or not. Tokyo was very action heavy, yeah, this one is like a, I think it's supposed to be like a 2D action RPG with the action combat or whatever.

It persona.

Greg (47:40.11)
I saw some 3D as well in this trailer. I'm rewatching right now. So like there's looks like some fights are 3D and your traversals 2D sometimes who knows, but it looks interesting. It does look very, very persona.

Yeah, with the cool little cards and shit that'll increase your stats and shit while you're at school and high school.

Mm hmm. Got a Digimon story Time Stranger for Switch and Switch 2. Now that was the bad one, right?

No, that's the new one that just came out or not that just came out but that's that's the newest one. I'm excited for that one. Yeah, everybody says that one's really fucking good. That's like I guess that one's the best one in terms of gameplay but Survive is the one that has the best story. I think that's what everybody else says, which I kind of agree with. I don't know but yeah

Okay.

Aaron (48:37.932)
With everyone being me, I'm everyone.

All right, I'll take your word for it. Grand Blue Fantasy Reelink. I don't know anything from from Grand Blue. I know there's a fighting game and I do want to try it. But in terms of the actual like, the other game, the JRPG, I don't know what

Aren't they aren't they mobile games? thought they were mobile games for some reason

It's made by Cygames, so it definitely is a whole game.

Okay, yeah, I don't know anything about them either. I think they have an anime too.

Greg (49:13.836)
Yes, I believe they do.

Greg (49:18.208)
Now did the anime come first and then Cygames made a game out of it? Kind of like the umemusume situation?

Who's to say? I don't know.

Not me, we don't know.

Maybe some listeners will let us know. I'm sure they

They should, please.

Greg (49:37.356)
Monster Hunter Stories 3.

Greg (49:42.626)
I don't care for I don't care for a monster to destroy story. I don't want to be front a friend of monster Okay, I want to turn them into clothes and weapons Really good monsters

Yeah, own the first two games, but I don't think I've ever actually played all the way through them. I just all start them like the first couple hours. I'll be like, is cool Monster Hunter Pokemon, and I'll never touch them again. I think I am just going to skip this fucking third one now.

Yeah. Well, demo's out today.

Woohoo!

What else we got? We have arcade and console archives, revisit classic or revisit the classics. So we got, so it's, it's, it's arcade and console archives and the two, and the two titles they're showing are, are, there's Dora Mon, there was Ninja Gaiden two cool borders.

Aaron (50:31.097)
It was Doraemon.

Aaron (50:39.118)
What was the arcade arcade archive? yeah rave racer. That was the other one rave rave

Fortis II I played the shit out of.

Greg (50:47.118)
Is rave racer like the precursor to Ridge Racer? Cause it's made by Bandai Namco. So I don't think it's gotta be right.

Yeah.

Aaron (50:56.416)
Yeah, it was rave and then ridge.

Hmm.

Pretty excited for that.

Yeah, I don't know about the console shit, but yeah, I still need to buy that. Didn't they put the first Ridge Racer on the first arcade archives too, or whatever the fuck it's called.

things.

Greg (51:16.078)
I have no idea, honestly.

Bring back Ridge Racer.

Bring back our racing evolution, the CarPG. That's what I want.

yes, bring back even further throwback bring back the one that's on turbo graphics 16. my god, final lap twin. That's the ultimate car PG that one's good.

final lap twin. I just remember in like our racing evolution, like you'd be driving and then like the other cars would have like a stress meter and you'd like you'd like tailgate them and they'd be like, she's right on my ass and you spin out

Aaron (51:57.346)
What the fuck? Hell yeah.

Look up, you should look up that game. It's so silly.

What is it on?

It was a PS2 game, I'm pretty sure.

I wonder if my PS2 emulator can handle that fucking game.

Greg (52:14.094)
Well, let's see if it was on anything else. It was also on GameCube.

Ooh, okay. That'd be cool.

Good with your Xbox.

It was on the 3. So yeah. But yeah, that game was, it had such funny RPG mechanics and then like, so many of the characters were just hot girls trying to make it on the track.

be cool. They need to make a car pg where they have summons like the cars can summon, I don't know, bigger cars like you could summon one of those big fucking like mining rigs that's the size of a town. Then it just fucking smashes the other cars. I don't know where I'm going with this. It'd be cool though. Bring summons into a car pg.

Greg (53:01.73)
Find a way, make it a fantasy, like a fantasy world that has cars.

God damn it, this would be cool. and boy, boy. And all your equipment and shit, like your rims and your like side skirts, like you'll equip that in the menu, like that'll also make you look cool, but also give you cool bonuses. This is stupid.

staff bonuses. No, it's not. It's not it's not it's not stupid. Email it to yourself so no one can steal it.

I'll do it. Trademark, trademark, trademark.

Yep. And then they finished off the show with the sizzle reel. And let's see if there's anything I recognize in the sizzle reel. So Scott Pilgrim I see, the new Scott Pilgrim game. I see WW2K. I see, I'm assuming that's Slave the Spire. Actually no, that's a ninja. That's not Slave the Spire. I don't know what that is. It's some kind of card game. We got Reanimal.

Aaron (53:59.876)
yeah, yeah, that looks pretty good.

That's the game that's like Little Nightmares. Ooh, Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown. I will claim this game.

yeah, isn't the one that's like, FTL with Star Trek?

Yeah, that's exactly what it is.

I'll

Aaron (54:19.594)
Disney, Dreamlight Valley.

I will be there no matter what. Dreamlight Valley. Cool Decept. That's the card game that I said, is this Sleeve Inspire? No, it's Cool Decept. I don't know what that is, but that's what it is. Goat Sim 3.

I must not have been paying attention, that shit's cool.

Yep. Shadow Tactics, Blades of the Shogun. And I think that is... and Tales of Arise, which I already mentioned. I think that was everything in the sizzle reel. And with that, I'm pretty sure... god damn it. I'm a fool. Aaron, I'm an idiot and a fool. I watched the full sizzle reel and just below the video was a list of everything that was in the sizzle reel.

fuck. I'm pretty sure there's more after that too, because they showed more of a...

Greg (55:12.341)
I mean, I was hoping that demo that that are in RE9 presentation was going to end with demo available today. But I guess we're not doing a demo for RE9. had heard that they weren't but I was I was hoping against hope that maybe they were going to do a demo for it.

And then there was...

Aaron (55:28.846)
Why would you need a demo when you're getting a fucking Leon amiibo? That's pretty cool. It's gonna go up on the shelf back there.

Yeah, put him up there. Let him with the rest of the gang.

badly contorting my thumb to point to it there it is there we go. I think there's also a bunch of Bethesda shit too like Fallout 4.

Yeah, they ended with a bunch of Bethesda stuff coming to Switch. So Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Oblivion Remastered are all coming to Switch.

pretty cool. It's not New Vegas, but I mean... Sight.

Greg (56:10.996)
No, yeah, it's pretty it's it's all right. It's all right. But yeah, that's that was the direct that that we saw today. All in all, what did you think? What did you think of it?

I think there's some pretty cool stuff. I mean, there's maybe a couple things I'm excited about. Mostly Digimon coming to Switch finally. Thank fuck. Yeah, it wasn't terrible. That was pretty good.

I found myself fairly underwhelmed overall with it. Like I said, I literally fell asleep and had to rewatch some of it again. there were some things that were good to see and it's nice to see some Nintendo hardware getting some of the beefier games that it couldn't have dreamed of getting before. overall I felt like it was kind of a little bit of a weaker direction.

Yeah, yeah, some of these, I feel like a lot of these games we already knew were coming. didn't we already know that Resident Evil 9 was coming to this system and then same with like Pragmata and a couple others? Or am I just dreaming this?

I know if we knew about Pragmata. think we knew about Resident Evil 9 though.

Aaron (57:27.384)
Yeah, that didn't need to be here.

I think it was assumed that Pragmata was going to be on Switch.

Yeah.

And then as soon as Remake Integrate got announced for Switch 2, it's reasonable to assume that they're going to put any other Final Fantasy 7 remake onto the system as well.

Yeah, is there another one after that? How far are they on the remake anyway?

Greg (57:51.374)
We... there's one more game and we haven't heard anything about it yet.

Are there three parts out now or just two?

two. There was the first part, there was the Crisis Core remake which tied into it a little bit, and then there was Rebirth.

okay. Cool, okay.

David Gaye!

Greg (58:19.15)
My recommendation is going to be that book about Blizzard. Once again, it's called Play Nice, the Rise, Fall and Future of Blizzard Entertainment. And it's really, really good because you get to hear about like how the company started by people who just passionate about games and their history and how you can kind of see the seeds of how it all started going wrong with Blizzard and how they're trying to recover now.

Hell yeah.

Yeah, it's good. It's good. it kind of, in a way, makes you appreciate that Blizzard was able to bounce back from what happened and hope that under Microsoft, can bounce back and kind of return to their former days, even though I don't think it's really possible for them to get back to that.

Yay.

Aaron (59:09.078)
No, yeah, I the damage has been...

And too many of the core people are gone now, but if they can get to like a bit of what they had in the past, you never know.

Yeah. My random rec is, I've been playing this a lot. Have you heard of the Neo Geo Fighter World Heroes Jet or World Heroes 2 or?

I know of world heroes, but no, haven't.

my God, this game is so fun. So World Heroes 2 in specific because it's like an enhanced remake or not, I guess not an enhanced remake. It's like an enhanced version of the second game, but it's got new characters and enhanced like combo system and it all feels a lot faster and snappier. So it's all like all the characters are from different time periods. Like you've got ancient Chinese warrior. You've got a Viking.

Aaron (01:00:08.238)
who can breathe this like cold air that freezes an enemy and of course he's got like this big axe and a shield. You've got a fucking demonic football player who... Yeah, it's JMAX. Yeah, dude. Yeah, you've got JMAX, you've got the fucking... You've got Rasputin who's got like... I guess like energy, telepathic, and there's holy shit.

I was thinking, is there just straight up a football player? Ross or no?

Aaron (01:00:37.186)
telepathically hand energy powers like

you told me about this game and I watched some footage of Rasputin fighting Bison.

That's it's not student. My guy Brock and he's like, I know like, what is it like like an Android? He's not a Nazi. He was like, this is a German officer.

that's Bison. That's who I was talking about.

okay. Yeah, that's my guy. And but yeah, Brock and he's like, so the go go gadget arms and legs and she like that he can fire missiles and shit out of his elbows.

Greg (01:01:14.464)
And he's not a Nazi. So despite how he looks, it would be so clear he's not a Nazi.

I've looked it up, he's not a Nazi, that's my boy. He was made by the Germans for the Nazi army, but he became sentient and he was like, that's a real thing, that's part of his shit.

That's like saying Robocop's not a cop.

Yeah, well All right. So so arguably the best character in the game is Captain kid is this motherfucker has like 80 million projectile attacks so he can send out like a ghost shark to attack the enemy or like a goat He has like a little ghost ship. That's his hadouken. He does a little ghost ship Interesting that shit's really cool. Yeah, it's tons of cool wacky characters and like the stages are really fucking cool and fun to look at

the music rules if you I don't know if you have a switch or if you're in emulation fucking go download this game and play it because it's really fun

Greg (01:02:19.402)
It's apparently on Google Play, so you can play it on your phone as well.

go get it, man.

Maybe I will. No, I can't think of anything I want to do less than play a fighting game on my phone.

Yeah, I don't know how the fuck that would work out. even like playing SNES games or PS1 games on my phone because I don't like the fucking see-through touchscreen buttons getting in the way of the game. God damn it.

Yeah, I don't- I don't wanna know that.

Aaron (01:02:47.118)
It's for the birds. Just like this episode. It's over.

Yep, now Aaron can rest in peace.

Yes, now I can stop stifling coughs and happily go upstairs and cough away while my wife tries to watch a show.

listeners this episode was a bad idea. Bear was barely surviving the poor guy during this whole thing.

you

Aaron (01:03:12.108)
No, I've been alright. I've only stifled maybe like a couple coughs, but I'm good. It's all good. Well, let's get out of here. everybody go to Superghost.site. Yeah, Superghost.site. It's all there. Episodes, socials, you can find us there too, but we don't do anything. We're just existing. Okay, bye.

There we go, plug it up, plug it up.

Greg (01:03:36.65)
We might, we might, we might someday follow it because you never know.

We might some.

You never know.
