[00:00:00] - [Gerry]
You don't remember that guy? William Hung?
[00:00:03] - [Beth]
Oh, I remember the name.
[00:00:04] - [Speaker 2]
I remember the name.
[00:00:08] - [Aaron]
The rule
[00:00:08] - [Speaker 2]
is stupid.
[00:00:09] - [Beth]
No. The only, like, only random person I remember from American Idol, wasn't there a guy who did pants on the ground, pants on the ground, acting like a fool with no pants on the ground?
[00:00:20] - [Gerry]
Oh, or is that Tom Green? My bum is on your lips? My bum is on your lips?
[00:00:25] - [Aaron]
Or the the guy who who did a silver he did a Silverstein song. He was like, this is fucking smashed to pieces by Silverstein. He went like like, ah. And Simon was like, stop. Like, just don't.
[00:00:43] - [Beth]
Oh, this is the pop.
[00:00:44] - [Aaron]
This is a real music. I'm Simon. A What cowl
[00:00:54] - [Gerry]
happened to his face? Breaking news. Let's talk about the fucking plastic surgery epidemic that's happening today.
[00:01:03] - [Aaron]
Welcome back to super ghost where we just talk about celebrities. Celebrity coming up.
[00:01:09] - [Beth]
Branding to us. Welcome back
[00:01:10] - [Gerry]
to fucking super TMZ.
[00:01:12] - [Aaron]
Yep. That's that is exactly what we are.
[00:01:19] - [Gerry]
Yeah. This is this is Super Ghost, and you are welcome back anytime.
[00:01:31] - [Aaron]
Man, I Simon, I'm imagining
[00:01:36] - [Gerry]
Aaron, say something.
[00:01:36] - [Aaron]
So, you said, whatever happened to Simon Cowell's face and like, you know, when you leave a jack o lantern out from like all throughout October and then like way into fucking like, what is it? November 27 like that Simon Cowell's face. He's just like a a decayed like two month old jack o'-lantern, yak o'-lantern.
[00:01:56] - [Gerry]
I don't know. I feel I get like, like he drank too much on a boat and fell over and then drowned and then they didn't find his body for like a few weeks and it's like really bloated. That's the vibe I get.
[00:02:11] - [Aaron]
So like
[00:02:12] - [Beth]
When you
[00:02:13] - [Gerry]
I'm sorry that I painted such a visceral bitch.
[00:02:15] - [Speaker 2]
It's like He's when
[00:02:17] - [Beth]
A lot of filler. I got that puffy face filler.
[00:02:20] - [Aaron]
It's like when you get a one of those like little shrinky dinks, those like little like foam dinosaurs that you can put in water and then they'll they'll grow. But if you leave it in there for too long, it becomes like really bloated. You call it? Shrinky dink?
[00:02:33] - [Beth]
Shrinky dink.
[00:02:34] - [Aaron]
Shrinky dink. Dink.
[00:02:37] - [Gerry]
I don't know if we call it that.
[00:02:38] - [Aaron]
Did I just offend you guys? I'm sorry.
[00:02:43] - [Gerry]
Get the fuck out. We should just start we should we should just like take this and I'll I'll talk as like fucking Canadian as possible, and Aaron, you talk as American as possible. I'll talk
[00:02:57] - [Aaron]
as like, oh, fucking Midwestern fuck you down in Minnesota. No.
[00:03:03] - [Gerry]
No. You can't do that because Minnesota is just Canada.
[00:03:08] - [Beth]
Like It's very similar to, like, certain areas in Canada accent, like, ugh. Yeah.
[00:03:15] - [Aaron]
Shit. Well, yeah. This is me talking American.
[00:03:20] - [Gerry]
Like, the Americans wanna talk about us being the fifty first state. Minnesota's just fucking the eleventh province, dude. Like, that is a that is a fucking fact.
[00:03:31] - [Aaron]
Yeah, it is.
[00:03:32] - [Gerry]
And don't think we won't come for fucking goddamn what's beneath me, which is Montana. That's just down further Alberta.
[00:03:41] - [Beth]
No, Jerry. We don't need any more Alberta.
[00:03:45] - [Gerry]
Hey, hey, hey.
[00:03:47] - [Aaron]
Is Alberta
[00:03:48] - [Beth]
We don't.
[00:03:48] - [Aaron]
Is Alberta like the Florida of, like, of Canada?
[00:03:52] - [Gerry]
It's like the Texas.
[00:03:53] - [Beth]
It's more like the Texas.
[00:03:55] - [Gerry]
It's like Texas. Cool. Lot of lot of yeehaw over here when we aren't really yeehaw at all.
[00:04:03] - [Speaker 2]
No. And
[00:04:04] - [Beth]
well, Calgary is very, like, cowboy boots and hats and stuff, and it's it is like a ranch. Like, there's there's a lot of, like,
[00:04:13] - [Gerry]
Canadian there are no ranches in the city. Yeah.
[00:04:17] - [Speaker 2]
You don't just drive around
[00:04:19] - [Aaron]
Wrestle up a doggy. Focus. Focus.
[00:04:22] - [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
[00:04:24] - [Beth]
Wrestle up them dogs.
[00:04:26] - [Aaron]
The dryer than a goddamn tumbleweed out there. Fucking giddy up, I don't know. Shit. I'm so sorry, you Why
[00:04:35] - [Gerry]
is my camera so Give it one
[00:04:37] - [Beth]
of these. I'm from Newfoundland. I'm used to people making fun of the Newfie accent, so making fun of Canadian accent in general.
[00:04:44] - [Gerry]
Aaron, like you don't really know what we're talking about dude, because like, we don't talk like them. I know, yeah. Like we don't, like there are small little tiny things that sometimes we might say that might trip someone up, but hey, my camera's back. But like, you have no idea what happens to me if I get really drunk and I'm like, holy fuck, if I if it's some fucking hat, I'm
[00:05:14] - [Aaron]
a fucking Irish.
[00:05:15] - [Speaker 2]
You go to the fucking store and it's so fucking hat. Yeah, like, that's Yeah.
[00:05:19] - [Aaron]
That what Canadian is? I'm just Irish?
[00:05:22] - [Beth]
No. That is what Newfie is.
[00:05:25] - [Speaker 2]
Oh, that's what Newfie is.
[00:05:26] - [Gerry]
Well, that's like one part. Yeah. That's not even I'm I'm like exaggerating there because I don't have that Newfie accent because we're both from the that's the East Coast accent of Newfoundland. We're from the West Coast Of Newfoundland, which is like a totally different accent. It just kinda sounds like East Coast accent with like a slight tang to it.
[00:05:46] - [Gerry]
Yeah.
[00:05:48] - [Beth]
But like there are instances where people who are from Ireland come to certain parts of Newfoundland and they're they're like, why do you
[00:06:00] - [Gerry]
sound like
[00:06:00] - [Beth]
us and vice versa?
[00:06:02] - [Gerry]
Why do you sound like us?
[00:06:03] - [Speaker 2]
They're like, why did you spill the beans?
[00:06:07] - [Beth]
Yeah, but like we had a Newfoundland in particular had a lot of Irish immigrants. And so
[00:06:15] - [Gerry]
Oh, Like our homeboy, Tricky. So he's from the East Coast.
[00:06:20] - [Aaron]
He's from Ireland.
[00:06:21] - [Gerry]
So like, he sure is, but he says like the same way that we kind of do. Like, I don't really say it anymore. I also didn't fully develop in Newfoundland. Like, I was also in Ontario, so I I kind of flipped one.
[00:06:38] - [Aaron]
Jesus Christ. Canada's so confusing.
[00:06:41] - [Gerry]
He says like car. Like car. Car. Car. Like car.
[00:06:46] - [Gerry]
It's like a really elongated a. But then you got the people out here that the strong, like, this strong Alberta accent, that's the South Park Canadian accent. South Park? Like, holy fuck bud, you wanna go for a rip in the fucking truck?
[00:07:04] - [Beth]
Yeah. I
[00:07:04] - [Speaker 2]
know to like
[00:07:09] - [Gerry]
them because I'm surrounded by them all the fucking time. But you kind of get you get used to it,
[00:07:14] - [Aaron]
right? Yeah.
[00:07:15] - [Gerry]
It's it's like nails on a chalkboard when you first get here, but I also like cried like a little baby bitch on my first day of school in grade five because I thought my parents moved me to a fucking place where I didn't speak the language.
[00:07:27] - [Aaron]
Because they were like, they were
[00:07:29] - [Speaker 2]
just like, holy fuck, look at this guy, he's fucking wicked, look at him.
[00:07:33] - [Gerry]
And it
[00:07:33] - [Speaker 2]
was just like, what is happening?
[00:07:35] - [Gerry]
Like, I didn't have a clue what any of the fucking kids were saying to me.
[00:07:38] - [Aaron]
Also, I have a I have a question because I know everywhere except for for like The US or whatever you guys say like zed. Why why don't you say like Pokemon Legend zed a? Am I or do you guys?
[00:07:53] - [Gerry]
Do we have
[00:07:55] - [Beth]
So Zed is kind this is also something that's happening in The UK actually.
[00:08:00] - [Aaron]
Yeah. I knew about that part.
[00:08:03] - [Beth]
Sorry. I like
[00:08:04] - [Gerry]
You actually does. I
[00:08:07] - [Speaker 2]
don't know.
[00:08:08] - [Beth]
Oh, no. But no. No.
[00:08:10] - [Gerry]
Glasses, you can be like
[00:08:11] - [Beth]
Actually. So the proliferation of American television has led to a lot of places that used to say zed say z. So a lot of Canada, like a lot of Canadians, like, we are very weirdly mixed between certain, like, stuff from The UK and then stuff from America. So they're like, we a lot of our spelling is we use we keep the use, like, in color and things like that. But then we'll also say, like, aluminum foil and eggplant instead of aubergine for eggplant and then aluminium.
[00:09:00] - [Aaron]
What is
[00:09:01] - [Speaker 2]
that? Instead of eggplant?
[00:09:02] - [Aaron]
I'm I'm sorry.
[00:09:03] - [Beth]
I think it's obergine.
[00:09:04] - [Gerry]
Ob g y
[00:09:05] - [Beth]
o. But obergine obergine. Sorry. I fucked that up. But there's there's like there's a
[00:09:11] - [Aaron]
word for it that not sidetrack you but like that and like people Lacroix cans that say like pomple mousse instead of grapefruit that fucks me up to to say grapefruit continue Beth. I'm sorry.
[00:09:24] - [Beth]
Wait. No, that's okay. But I just I'm I'm it is something and there was actually this is why you say that triggered this part of my autistic brain. There was actually a initiative right now like going on in The UK to make it talking like Americans. So that mean to Clint, like, keep a hold of The UK, like, culture lexicon and things like that.
[00:09:50] - [Speaker 2]
One of the things that was
[00:09:51] - [Beth]
brought up was saying saying sorry. Saying z instead of zed. So Oh, okay. I thought I
[00:10:00] - [Gerry]
The Toyota Lex Luther. Anyway.
[00:10:03] - [Aaron]
That is they're like, stop saying USI stuff. Don't do it. Fucking
[00:10:09] - [Speaker 2]
Yeah. See, the the thing is though, Aaron,
[00:10:14] - [Gerry]
don't know if I could tell that like, I don't know what the Iowa accent is.
[00:10:19] - [Aaron]
I don't really know if there is one. I mean
[00:10:24] - [Gerry]
because you don't really have like that twang or anything in in your but then again, some people just don't have accents of their like
[00:10:32] - [Beth]
Their areas.
[00:10:33] - [Aaron]
I think it's mostly in like the East Coast, because like you'll get that like, well, there's, like, three over there because there's, like, there's there's the Brooklyn accent. Like, hey. I'm walking here. And then there's your cousin from Boston, which is, like, kinda like the same thing at the Bostonian accent. Yeah.
[00:10:50] - [Aaron]
And then what? Texas and then, like, Wisconsin and Minnesota. And that's it, really. Yeah. I lied.
[00:10:58] - [Aaron]
There's, like, too many fuck accents. I'm so confused right now.
[00:11:03] - [Gerry]
I don't know. Like, Philly and Pennsylvania Oh. Have some wild act. Yeah. Like, dude, fucking Baltimore accent?
[00:11:10] - [Gerry]
One's insane.
[00:11:11] - [Aaron]
Like that bit from Have a cruel
[00:11:18] - [Gerry]
you ever seen that video? It's like, fuck you Baltimore. And it's like some like car in like thing. Have you ever seen that? No.
[00:11:27] - [Aaron]
Should be.
[00:11:28] - [Gerry]
Just trying to find that sometime. Anyways, let's kick it off with
[00:11:32] - [Speaker 2]
some news.
[00:11:38] - [Aaron]
News, mate.
[00:11:40] - [Gerry]
Alright. Well, at the time of this recording, it will already have come and pass, but there's a big birthday on our hands here pretty soon. There's a big Pretty. Yep. The big birthday bitch.
[00:11:53] - [Gerry]
She's gonna be 44. The subtitle.
[00:11:58] - [Speaker 2]
Big birthday bitch. Only
[00:12:02] - [Beth]
it's Not to be like only 44?
[00:12:05] - [Gerry]
Wait. I think so. Let me see. But, yeah, if you wanna slide into Britt's DMs on December 2, that's when she'll be selling her birthday, likely with the Kardashians and a brand new set of knives.
[00:12:21] - [Beth]
I don't I'll do my obligatory leave Britney alone. I don't know.
[00:12:26] - [Gerry]
Oh, no. So, yeah. So, she's 43 right now. She'll be 44.
[00:12:30] - [Beth]
My God. That's like
[00:12:33] - [Speaker 2]
a lot better than I thought actually.
[00:12:35] - [Aaron]
Wasn't she in her twenties when Hit Me Baby One More Time came out? And that was like nine No.
[00:12:40] - [Gerry]
She was 16. Damn. Maybe she was 44. Were wanting to hit her one more time.
[00:12:47] - [Speaker 2]
You know what I'm saying?
[00:12:47] - [Gerry]
It was kind of a weird time. Not for me, because I was younger than her for that. I was opening
[00:12:52] - [Aaron]
Pokemon cards in my mom's band.
[00:12:55] - [Gerry]
Yeah, dude. So, like, I was like, yes. Hit me, baby. One more time, please. Like, I was all about it.
[00:13:03] - [Gerry]
But now, in retrospect, hearing adults be like, pretty easy on the ass. Like, it's just fucking it's gross.
[00:13:13] - [Beth]
No. Those are the old creepy people who were, like, leering at her when she was 16.
[00:13:19] - [Aaron]
Yeah. Okay.
[00:13:22] - [Beth]
Yeah. Like doing countdowns until she was 18 and stuff like that.
[00:13:27] - [Aaron]
That's what I'm thinking.
[00:13:27] - [Gerry]
It didn't stop there. This has been like, I I remember the most recent one that I remember, I think was I think it was Zendaya. I remember there was like people being like, buddy,
[00:13:43] - [Speaker 2]
just you wait. Don't man. Oh, god.
[00:13:47] - [Gerry]
That's dude. And that's you guys. I
[00:13:53] - [Beth]
didn't do shit. That wasn't me.
[00:13:57] - [Speaker 2]
Jesus shit.
[00:13:59] - [Beth]
You know what? To be to be hey. To be generous and even with even Kiel with it, people were so weird about Finn Wolfhardt. Like, older women were so weird about Finn Wolfhardt being, like, being like, oh, when he turns 18, when he's in a when he grows up,
[00:14:18] - [Aaron]
it's like,
[00:14:18] - [Beth]
why can't anybody be normal around children?
[00:14:21] - [Gerry]
Jesus Christ, Anne Cheryl. Calm the fuck down.
[00:14:24] - [Beth]
Please be me. I beg you.
[00:14:26] - [Gerry]
Meanwhile, Anne Cheryl's like, that thin wolf heart. When he comes on the screen, you could drown a toddler in my fucking pants.
[00:14:35] - [Beth]
Which year, woah. I don't think
[00:14:38] - [Aaron]
Shut up, and Cheryl's smoking on a cigarette. Calm down.
[00:14:43] - [Speaker 2]
Yeah. Just like people were so That's why
[00:14:45] - [Gerry]
I didn't hey, look. I didn't make that up. That's from Archer.
[00:14:50] - [Beth]
Oh.
[00:14:50] - [Gerry]
Yeah. I didn't it's okay. As long as you don't make the thing up, you can say anything.
[00:14:58] - [Speaker 2]
It's true.
[00:14:59] - [Beth]
Eye die.
[00:15:03] - [Gerry]
In other news,
[00:15:04] - [Beth]
the
[00:15:05] - [Gerry]
steam machine is looking pretty good.
[00:15:10] - [Aaron]
That's what I'm Yeah.
[00:15:14] - [Gerry]
So Linus Tech Tips, Greg just sent
[00:15:18] - [Aaron]
us this I
[00:15:18] - [Gerry]
trust chat that you're because may he rest. He's no longer on this plane of existence. He has ascended and I'm sure once you see his next form, it's not gonna be his final form when he returns. There will be a return.
[00:15:34] - [Aaron]
Greg is coming back.
[00:15:35] - [Gerry]
By the way, Beth is back with us. Beth's in the studio
[00:15:38] - [Aaron]
everybody. Everybody
[00:15:39] - [Gerry]
give Beth a hand.
[00:15:39] - [Aaron]
No. Holy shit. I just I I just combined Beth and Greg into one word because my my brain is just like, yeah. Hang on. Hello.
[00:15:50] - [Aaron]
Hello, Beth. You're on the air.
[00:15:52] - [Beth]
Hello. Hello. Hello. That's fine. I still to this day mix Greg and Jerry's names.
[00:16:01] - [Aaron]
I did that on
[00:16:02] - [Beth]
And I've also called them Grary.
[00:16:04] - [Aaron]
Grary. Yeah.
[00:16:06] - [Gerry]
Yeah. We're the same person to her.
[00:16:08] - [Aaron]
Not to me.
[00:16:10] - [Gerry]
Exact same person.
[00:16:11] - [Beth]
It means I care about you both equally on the same level.
[00:16:20] - [Aaron]
Steam machine?
[00:16:22] - [Gerry]
But, yeah, steam machine. So, Greg sent us a video that Linus Tech Tips did recently where he was kind of breaking down, because the big thing right now is what does this thing cost? Yep. Like does this cost as much as like a fairly decent gaming, like pre built gaming PC? Because if it does, like,
[00:16:44] - [Aaron]
who cares? Yeah.
[00:16:45] - [Gerry]
But if it's priced more like a console, it might be a bit of a game changer if it's around that. So I watched the video and I watched their breakdown and they basically like got the components that are of equal like power and whatever for the steam machine for the specs because they've been Valve's been super open about it. And they like did like a whole breakdown and they came to the conclusion that their historical lows of the components was like $600. Oh, that's They were like, but the problem is with tariffs and the fucking RAM issue, where RAM is now a billion dollars to buy because of fucking AI. So like, they jacked it up and they were like, if you look at today's current prices, then yeah, it's like $900, like $950.
[00:17:41] - [Speaker 2]
But then
[00:17:41] - [Gerry]
they were like, but keep in mind, that's not what Valve is paying for parts. They're not gonna pay consumer prices. So like, they have the ability to buy for non consumer prices and put whatever markup they want. So they were like, we think it's gonna be about $700 for the steam machine. Keep in mind, that comes with the controller.
[00:18:02] - [Gerry]
Oh. Mhmm. So you get the steam machine and you get the controller. So it's like, you already get more Didn't the PS five not have a controller included? You had to buy that separately, right?
[00:18:12] - [Gerry]
No, did. You sure? Did you get
[00:18:15] - [Speaker 2]
a bundle though?
[00:18:16] - [Beth]
No. So I bought an I bought an extra controller, and there was the one that came with it, and then I had two.
[00:18:27] - [Aaron]
That that'd be insane if it didn't.
[00:18:31] - [Gerry]
Yes. It did ship with the controller.
[00:18:33] - [Beth]
Yeah, Jerry.
[00:18:34] - [Gerry]
I have confirmed. But there have been consoles in the past that have not shipped with controllers.
[00:18:42] - [Aaron]
Like what?
[00:18:43] - [Beth]
Not once. I don't know.
[00:18:44] - [Aaron]
Give me one example.
[00:18:45] - [Beth]
I don't I think this is I think this is misinformation.
[00:18:48] - [Speaker 2]
I was just hoping that you were gonna
[00:18:49] - [Aaron]
just The Kaliko vision Kaliko vision didn't come
[00:18:53] - [Speaker 2]
off So the
[00:18:56] - [Gerry]
anyways, but yes. So you you get you get the whole the whole steam steam machine package. So here's a fun fact. I'll tell you a couple little fun facts. So Mhmm.
[00:19:10] - [Gerry]
I have sort of had the opportunity to dabble in messing around with a steam machine.
[00:19:21] - [Beth]
You have?
[00:19:22] - [Gerry]
Yes. Okay. I I have a confession to make. I'm on one right now. I am pod I'm not joking.
[00:19:33] - [Gerry]
I'm podcasting through SteamOS right now.
[00:19:37] - [Aaron]
And then it crashes.
[00:19:40] - [Gerry]
Then it just shuts down. I don't have a steam machine from Valve, but after I did some digging, because I was like, I mean, SteamOS is based on Linux, so I was like, branch of Linux is it really based on? And it's based, I think SteamOS is like based on like Gnome and KDE or something. I don't know a lot about Linux. I've kind of recently been going down this rabbit hole.
[00:20:07] - [Gerry]
So there's a There is an operating system called Bazite that's out right now, and essentially it's a way to put SteamOS on a PC using PC components. Because SteamOS has up to this point been tailored to Steam Decks and the architecture that's on the Steam Deck. So the Steam machine is the same thing. So it's running AMD GPUs, it's not Nvidia. I have an Nvidia.
[00:20:35] - [Gerry]
So technically, my graphics card isn't really supported for Steam OS. But with Bazite, it kind of it does some black magic and and adjusts it. So right now, I am on Bazite, which is SteamOS, it's just a different fork of it that'll support the, like, the correct drivers and shit. And I've had a chance to kind of mess around in here, and I gotta tell you, I don't know if I wanna go back to Windows.
[00:21:07] - [Aaron]
Hell yeah.
[00:21:08] - [Gerry]
Things run There's
[00:21:09] - [Beth]
so many who go Linux, Much
[00:21:11] - [Gerry]
fucking better on this. There is only one downfall that I can see so far that's very, I guess, specific to my situation. I watch a lot of TV and movies and shit through like a Plex server, or on streaming apps and stuff like that, I'm looking for Dolby Atmos, or Dolby True HD surround sound. It doesn't support it at this time. And I don't know if Linux does just in general.
[00:21:39] - [Gerry]
It doesn't support like Atmos or none of that shit. However, it does support 7.1 surround sound. So like, it's just not Dolby Atmos. So like, you still do get surround sound in like your games and shit. But like, there's no Atmos for movies, so there's no like overheads.
[00:21:55] - [Gerry]
Again, pretty pretty specific to my setup, and I'm sure I'm in a very niche
[00:22:02] - [Speaker 2]
of But,
[00:22:03] - [Gerry]
people that have the setup that I yeah, I I have been messing around in there. I installed a few games just that were in my own steam library. I chose a couple that were like some heavy hitters. I grabbed Cyberpunk and I grabbed Resident Evil eight off the bat. Resident Evil eight, again, this is another thing to keep in mind.
[00:22:28] - [Gerry]
I have a thirty eighty. That's much more powerful than what's gonna ship in the steam machine. That doesn't mean that it's gonna look like garbage or anything, but I have a thirty eighty, so it's a bit more powerful. But I'll say this, I didn't have to fuck with those games at all. Hit and then it booted up, and I went looked at the settings, and I went, okay, this looks fine.
[00:22:55] - [Gerry]
Resident Evil eight had ray tracing enabled, it had graphics I think were set to high, and it was $14.40 p, and it was a 120 frames per shot. Jesus. Again, I'm using a thirty eighty, but what's impressive is how easy it was compared to what I actually thought it was going to be to just because I thought it was gonna be like, oh, do you have to install this game a special way, or you have to install it and then tweak a bunch of shit? Nope. You just fucking hit install like it was on a normal PC.
[00:23:30] - [Gerry]
The only difference is, because it's on SteamOS, there is no background shit happening. You don't have an operating system in the background, so everything is fucking running really really fucking quick. So like, when you start up Steam OS, it goes like It's like a console. It goes straight into Steam, like big picture mode, and like, you can download program There's called Deki, which will allow you to fully customize how fucking Steam big picture mode looks. Mine looks like a fucking Switch right now.
[00:24:04] - [Gerry]
Like,
[00:24:04] - [Speaker 2]
it's got like the
[00:24:05] - [Gerry]
big tiles and it's all on the bottom. Like, looks incredible. There's a ton of customization here. By the way, I did test as well importing non Steam games from Epic Games, like those games, and also GOG games that you just like can download and it's like portable with an EXE. You just literally go add non steam game, and then in properties, select compatibility and select Proton, and it just works.
[00:24:36] - [Gerry]
Hell yeah. Don't understand. I don't understand. So like, here's what I'll say about the steam machine. Do you already have a PC like mine that has a thirty eighty in it?
[00:24:48] - [Gerry]
Probably not for you. Probably not for you. Do you consider yourself like Aaron and like Beth as well? Where you couldn't be fucking bothered to really build a PC and you just kinda wanna have a PC that you can buy and hook it up, but also not have the problems of a fucking Windows PC that's just literally a PC, but it's a console that acts like a console, then this is fucking for you. So regardless, I think it's for me anyways because I would love to have something in my theater room that is dedicated for PC gaming.
[00:25:24] - [Gerry]
Whereas like, I do have a pretty beastly PC for if I wanna do that. But honestly, lately, I don't I don't really fucking care if something looks as good as it could possibly look. I just want it to run as good as it could possibly
[00:25:39] - [Aaron]
run.
[00:25:39] - [Gerry]
Like, if it's in 14 because people are like,
[00:25:42] - [Speaker 2]
can it do four k 60? I don't care.
[00:25:44] - [Gerry]
I want fourteen forty one twenty. Give me that all day. And honestly, if if it looks insane, but I have to dumb it down to fourteen forty and sixty, so be it. I don't care. My eyes can barely tell the fucking difference between fourteen forty and 4 k in a game because of DLSS and upscaling.
[00:26:02] - [Gerry]
On a desktop, it's a little fuzzy. Like, you can kinda notice it on a desktop, like, still image stuff. But yeah, I I think if this comes out at the right price point, this in my opinion, it could really, like, kind of upset, in a good way, the entire PC thing. Like, because it's less of a barrier. Sure, you can go out right now and buy a pre built PC.
[00:26:32] - [Gerry]
They're not fucking cheap.
[00:26:32] - [Speaker 2]
No,
[00:26:33] - [Aaron]
not at all.
[00:26:33] - [Gerry]
But like, yeah, you do get good specs and shit in them, and you can, and like they are fully upgradable. The steam machine, I think, does have some upgrades. By the way, I'm not being paid by Valve or anything. I just think it's really neat and it's
[00:26:47] - [Beth]
The Valve money would be nice, though.
[00:26:49] - [Gerry]
It sure would. Hey Gabe, buddy, give me a call. I can give you my so my phone number is No. Just give me a shout, We can talk. We can we can Buddy, do you want us to become the steam machine podcast then?
[00:27:05] - [Gerry]
That's what we are.
[00:27:07] - [Aaron]
I'm a
[00:27:08] - [Speaker 2]
super steam machine I'm it
[00:27:12] - [Aaron]
a Well I'm pretty sure Xbox said that their next generation console is supposed to also be kind of that same kind of thing, like, it's just it's like, it's a PC for the most part, but with their, like, Xbox interface. So I'm really I'm I'm I'm I wanna see what the comparison is between those two because, like, I'm already pretty used to the Xbox interface and like, I'm already fucking just twenty years into the ecosystem at this point. So like, if they if they make an Xbox
[00:27:43] - [Gerry]
Oh, you're talking about the full screen experience on PC. Right? That's the thing that they just launched. So it's basically like full screen, like, it's the Xbox app, but it's like full screen.
[00:27:57] - [Speaker 2]
It's kinda like their own Steam big picture.
[00:27:59] - [Aaron]
So their next console, like after the Series X, cause they're still doing consoles, I guess. Their next console, they've said, like, I don't it wasn't necessarily hand, like, they they full on said. The next one is gonna be basically a PC. So I'm I'm wondering if, like, if they do that, if that next Xbox will also be able to tap into Steam and GOG and shit like that, or if it'll just be, like, stuck on the Xbox store. Because, like, that'll be a big deal breaker for me if it's, like, if it's just like, here's an Xbox.
[00:28:32] - [Aaron]
It's basically a PC, but you only get the Windows Store. I'm gonna be like, I think I'm tapping out of this one. I'm gonna go get a steam machine that can do, yeah, fucking Gog and like, maybe itch.io if I want. That'd be cool.
[00:28:48] - [Beth]
Yeah. I think the interesting thing about this in particular is that, you know, what you were saying about like the price point and yeah, they can probably they they, like, they're not gonna be paying, like, our fees for when they get these parts and stuff. There's probably some type of deal that is there. But Yeah. I know that, like, with consoles, they tend to sell them at a loss because the point is to get people to get the the system so that then you're purchasing things off of their store.
[00:29:24] - [Beth]
And all that kind of stuff. So there's more incentive there. Whereas, like, I wonder though if, like, they're going to be marketing or with the steam machine as sort of like a niche ex like experience because so many people already have PCs and are buying off the steam library. It's almost a monopoly. Like so, like, they I don't know necessarily what incentive they have to, like, make it necessarily as affordable as it could be because they have so many users already there, with, like, you know, PCs.
[00:30:13] - [Beth]
And, like, regardless, you know, we're talking from our perspective of people who play a lot of games and get, like, high end quality and, like, you know, we don't care. Like, you know, Jerry, said you don't care about graphics or you don't care about that, but, like, you know, you still there are people who are gonna, like they play Steam and they have it on their freaking, you know, brick of a PC, and they're happy with, like, seven twenty and thirty frames per second because that's how they play this game. And they don't care because they're like, they'll get their one they'll, like, get a couple games with Steam Summer Sale or or other things like that. So I don't know how much of a, like, market is there for this for it to be incentivized to be cheaper than or even, like, at the same price point of a Xbox series or PS five.
[00:31:08] - [Aaron]
I think
[00:31:09] - [Beth]
So that's I'm saying that that stuff to I I'm wondering if, like, if they do do that, I want I'm curious to like what their
[00:31:17] - [Aaron]
like their Target audience like their yeah.
[00:31:20] - [Beth]
Yeah. Like what is this because I think that really like it is for I'm you know, you do say Jerry like, you know, you have like a really great PC but I do think people like you are more of a target audience than a casual gamer who would buy a home console because or like and you have a PC.
[00:31:39] - [Gerry]
If you didn't have a PC, like if you were about to Like if you were in the situation that you were in Yeah. Two years ago or whenever it was that you got that PC, and you were like, man, need a new PC, and the steam machine was like, yep, this comes out January 15, it's like, this would you be like, okay, I'll just get that? No. Would you be more inclined to get that over, like, going and getting a PC? No.
[00:32:03] - [Gerry]
Why?
[00:32:04] - [Beth]
Because the PC will do everything that a Steam machine does for my gaming experience, but it also is a PC. And I, you know, I have more functionality from a PC in general than I do with Steam.
[00:32:17] - [Aaron]
What do mean? Isn't the Steam machine also a full PC? Because, like
[00:32:21] - [Beth]
Is it a full thing? Like, it has, like, this and like, I can browse
[00:32:25] - [Speaker 2]
I'm pretty
[00:32:25] - [Aaron]
sure that's what said. Like, it's it's a full on PC
[00:32:30] - [Beth]
It's a full on PC.
[00:32:32] - [Gerry]
I'm gonna show you something. I'm gonna I'm gonna throw something into the chat. Mhmm. The chat. I I I've sent a picture.
[00:32:41] - [Gerry]
I took a full screenshot of what I'm on right now. So Yeah. Aaron, if you wanna describe what you're seeing
[00:32:47] - [Aaron]
Oh, okay.
[00:32:48] - [Gerry]
What does that look like to
[00:32:49] - [Speaker 2]
you?
[00:32:49] - [Aaron]
It just looks like a fucking web browser on any PC, and it's also got it's got basically, the Windows taskbar just minus all the the bloat, like, there's no fucking dumb weather widget, there's no, like, search bar at the bottom.
[00:33:05] - [Gerry]
You can add them. You can add widgets and shit, that's I mean, you can still do that, but, like, it it is that. It's got a taskbar. It's got a file system. It's got you can just download Google Chrome or Firefox or whatever you want because it can switch between gaming mode and desktop mode.
[00:33:20] - [Beth]
So Okay. So and that's what it is. It it
[00:33:22] - [Gerry]
Yes.
[00:33:25] - [Beth]
Well, it once again, depend on the price point. I don't know the price
[00:33:30] - [Gerry]
I also do not work for Valve. Let
[00:33:32] - [Aaron]
me make that
[00:33:33] - [Speaker 2]
don't work for Valve. No. I'm just
[00:33:34] - [Gerry]
I don't work for Valve, but I'm about to sell Beth.
[00:33:37] - [Beth]
Well, No, because I'm But theoretically.
[00:33:41] - [Gerry]
Hypothetically.
[00:33:42] - [Beth]
Right?
[00:33:42] - [Gerry]
Like in that situation where you're like, oh, I need another PC, because you're not gonna build one.
[00:33:47] - [Beth]
No.
[00:33:48] - [Gerry]
Right? So like, at that point, you and I have both had this conversation before, and this is why it appeals to me. We've both talked about how much better a console experience is. Yes. I much rather just turn a fucking console on, and I've had PCs since like 2000 and, I don't know, '13 or '14 is when I built my first one and like, yeah.
[00:34:10] - [Beth]
Can I have Final Fantasy 14 online with my Windows version? Because if I don't have that, then I cannot. If it's only this version, I have to start over. Okay. Okay.
[00:34:20] - [Beth]
Because that would actually be the make or break. Okay. I'm not starting over final beta support. I would need
[00:34:25] - [Gerry]
to double check and and do a little bit more testing on that because I genuinely don't know. But I do know that you can literally just add an like, if if there was an exe, like the launcher or whatever, you just add that to steam and then run it through proton. And essentially what it does is, not to get too in the weeds of this, but like, what is happening on Linux for these to run is that it's running in what's called a wine bottle. So wine is a program that's used on Linux and Mac that allows you to run Windows applications and programs within a virtual ecosystem of Windows. Nice.
[00:35:07] - [Gerry]
A little tiny it's like every little wine bottle is like this little ecosystem that has like all Yeah. The windows So bottles and like that's what it is and I think, you know, maybe I should test that out
[00:35:22] - [Aaron]
for Can pour you a nice glass of pocket dimension? Fine glass of pocket dimension.
[00:35:27] - [Gerry]
Yeah, like, I that's that's the thing, right? Like, I think people don't realize what what it is fully yet, and I'm that's what
[00:35:35] - [Speaker 2]
I'm saying, like, I'm
[00:35:36] - [Gerry]
recording this podcast on essentially a steam machine.
[00:35:39] - [Aaron]
Yeah. That's really cool. I I I'm I'm I'm sold, man. Like, I've looked at piece like gaming PCs for a while now, probably since, like, maybe a year or two into having this laptop because, like, it it runs a lot of games very crappily. And, yeah, a lot of a lot of the gaming PCs that, like, I've I've either run by Jerry or I'll run by Tommy or I'll run by my best bud, Jared, because he also has a gaming PC.
[00:36:09] - [Aaron]
He spent, like, fucking $1,500 on his, I think, like, fucking five, six years ago, and it already needs an upgrade. But Yeah. My point being, fucking gaming PCs are expensive. Like, I don't want to drop a thousand plus dollars on one thing that I'm gonna have to upgrade in, like, three to three plus years, I guess.
[00:36:37] - [Gerry]
I'm gonna I'm gonna interject there. You don't you don't be upgrading. If you build a brand new PC today, depending on the components that you're putting in there, you're not gonna have to upgrade for a while. Like, I know for me personally, I have a decent PC. I have a very good GPU.
[00:36:55] - [Gerry]
But the rest of my PC is, it's fine. I got my processor is like not the craziest thing in the world, and I only have 16 gigs of RAM. So, like, it's not the craziest thing, but, like, my thirty eighty is more powerful than a PS five Pro, and I'm I'm gonna be good into even the next console generation. Like, I'm good. Oh.
[00:37:16] - [Speaker 2]
So Go ahead, Beth. Go ahead.
[00:37:18] - [Aaron]
What? Oh, hold on So this
[00:37:20] - [Beth]
okay. I I just didn't so it's more nest like, I think that from, like, what you've been saying then, it is more a price price wise. It's gonna need to be more of a competitor against, like, gaming PCs.
[00:37:36] - [Gerry]
No. I think
[00:37:37] - [Beth]
And then consoles. I think I think
[00:37:38] - [Gerry]
to be priced at a console.
[00:37:39] - [Aaron]
It's gonna be, yeah, a little bit of both, honestly.
[00:37:42] - [Beth]
I think that I think it's gonna be, like, more I think it's more important for them to be priced competitively to PC builds.
[00:37:50] - [Gerry]
Yes.
[00:37:51] - [Beth]
Prebuilt PCs than compared to, like that's what I mean. Like, I think they're in their market, like, the their competitive market. They're really competing more with a PC built than they are with a console, like a home console system. And, like, because I like I said, I don't think the average person is going to be looking at a c machine and thinking of it as, like, the like, oh, this is gonna be my my box that I put on my in my entertainment center. Right?
[00:38:23] - [Beth]
Like, you know, they're that's not my Xbox. That's on my you know? But as a you explaining it as more of a a competitor to a gaming PC, like prebuilt gaming PC as like this being the option made more sense to me. And so, like, I don't I think that, like, price wise, if it's, like, a little bit more expensive than a console, then that's fine as long as it's not Yeah. Then hitting that.
[00:38:50] - [Gerry]
I think you're yeah. You're right because it it does more than a console. Yeah. Fucking podcast on Riverside on a PS five, like
[00:38:58] - [Aaron]
Can you?
[00:38:59] - [Gerry]
You can't do that. Like
[00:39:00] - [Aaron]
No. Could you
[00:39:01] - [Gerry]
you can't Oh, Riverside,
[00:39:03] - [Aaron]
you gotta have Chrome, dude. Oh, yeah. For Edge. Well, no. Okay.
[00:39:06] - [Aaron]
So on the Xbox, you can get on Edge. Could you plug in a fucking microphone and pod? I'm pretty sure actually, Nave used to do that before he got his PC.
[00:39:16] - [Beth]
Okay. Really?
[00:39:18] - [Aaron]
Yeah. I mean, it wasn't it wasn't the best. It's probably it's not ideal,
[00:39:22] - [Speaker 2]
but It's like the
[00:39:24] - [Beth]
best way. We're not saying that is the best way to do it.
[00:39:28] - [Aaron]
I I had a question. So based on what you've seen from, like, the hardware that's going into the steam machine, Like, what what do think is, like, the longevity of of that? Because, you know, like, say, if you bought, like, this x gaming PC with whatever parts that you probably have to upgrade in, like, a few years, like, how long do you see the steam machine? Like, is that just, like, five, six year thing where they'll have to have another revision to keep up with whatever is going on in the current
[00:39:57] - [Gerry]
Yeah. It'll be similar to a console, I think. I think you'll see, like, a revision if it's successful enough. I mean, I think once they've seen the success of the Steam Deck, I mean, we've seen a Steam Deck OLED pretty quick. They've already come out and said like, don't expect Steam Deck two anytime soon.
[00:40:15] - [Gerry]
Like, we don't really we don't need there to be a Steam Deck two
[00:40:18] - [Aaron]
Yeah.
[00:40:19] - [Gerry]
Like, right away because it's Yeah. Yeah. The thing like But I think one thing that you have to consider in this conversation and something that's changing, but it's not changing as much that we've seen yet, Like we're just starting to see a change on the PS five with the PS five Pro because it has that PSSR, which is basically like DLSS on on on a PC. But like the steam machine, that'll use FSR. So it's the upscaling, right?
[00:40:51] - [Gerry]
So like, that's the part of the conversation where it's like, you don't necessarily need, and this bold is statement and it's kind of a blanket statement, but I don't know if you're gonna need to really have the craziest components going forward as much as you did before with all of the innovative technologies that are happening with upscaling and shit, like AI upscaling. So like, I mean, I'm on a thirty eighty, but like, I'm pretty sure if I was on a thirty sixty, I could still play a game at like fourteen forty and probably get 60 frames using like DLSS on like performance kind of thing. Right? Mhmm. That's the thing.
[00:41:36] - [Gerry]
Like those those factors are I think what's gonna determine how long this thing can last as like its first iteration console. That that's just my opinion. Yeah. I just I just don't know if it's gonna be as long as a normal console cycle. I don't know.
[00:41:57] - [Gerry]
I really don't know.
[00:41:59] - [Beth]
Yeah. But I mean, like, at the same time, like, normal console cycles are what, like, seven years? So
[00:42:04] - [Gerry]
Yeah. What's going on now? Or if you're the fucking the Wii, it's like twenty five years
[00:42:08] - [Aaron]
or something. Didn't the Yeah. Yeah. I think the series x and psi, they came on like 2020, didn't they?
[00:42:14] - [Beth]
So like three Yeah. I think three to I I'm a PlayStation. Mhmm. So I think three to four.
[00:42:22] - [Gerry]
This just in Beth's You a
[00:42:27] - [Beth]
know what I mean?
[00:42:27] - [Speaker 2]
You know what I meant?
[00:42:28] - [Beth]
That's why.
[00:42:30] - [Speaker 2]
Super important breaking news.
[00:42:32] - [Gerry]
Beth is like, woah. Just fucking transforms into
[00:42:36] - [Speaker 2]
a place.
[00:42:38] - [Beth]
Shit. So I, you know
[00:42:40] - [Gerry]
Oh my god. If we were all transformers, what would we transform
[00:42:43] - [Aaron]
into? A fucking ceiling fan.
[00:42:48] - [Gerry]
No. You're better than a ceiling fan, babe.
[00:42:52] - [Speaker 2]
Oh, that's cute. Oh, put that on put that on a You're better than
[00:42:57] - [Aaron]
a ceiling fan, babe.
[00:42:58] - [Beth]
Better than a ceiling fan, babe.
[00:43:01] - [Gerry]
No. But, like, for real, what would you
[00:43:04] - [Aaron]
a 3DS?
[00:43:05] - [Gerry]
Would you transform it?
[00:43:05] - [Aaron]
3DS, that's me. Fold me up and put me in your pocket, bitch.
[00:43:11] - [Gerry]
Oh my god. Can I wish we had like a bunch of artistic listeners that like listen
[00:43:19] - [Speaker 2]
and watch that would
[00:43:20] - [Aaron]
be like,
[00:43:21] - [Gerry]
oh, I'm gonna I'm gonna draw a picture of Aaron as a three d s because I wanna see you like like basically like if
[00:43:26] - [Speaker 2]
Kirby Get me out of here?
[00:43:27] - [Gerry]
Please god. No. No. I mean like, you personified as a three d s. Like if Kirby, like, ate it like, like, the way that Kirby turns into things.
[00:43:35] - [Aaron]
I've got a couple people I could probably Do wanna
[00:43:39] - [Gerry]
it. I wanna see Aaron as a three d s. Do it. What about you, Beth? Was your PlayStation or a transformer?
[00:43:46] - [Beth]
PlayStation.
[00:43:47] - [Gerry]
Oh, yeah. She is a PlayStation.
[00:43:48] - [Aaron]
And which one?
[00:43:49] - [Beth]
OG PlayStation.
[00:43:50] - [Aaron]
OG?
[00:43:51] - [Beth]
Because I'm old. I'm old and I'm tired.
[00:43:55] - [Aaron]
Please. I can't read this disc. God stop.
[00:44:00] - [Speaker 2]
11, bro. What?
[00:44:03] - [Gerry]
Oh my god. I will be I will be a regular Nintendo. I'll be the NES. Regular. Because then I just feel like, yeah.
[00:44:10] - [Gerry]
Go ahead. Blow on.
[00:44:11] - [Aaron]
The fucking flap is
[00:44:12] - [Speaker 2]
side talk. Oh, no. Flap.
[00:44:13] - [Aaron]
Flap is moving as you talk. Like like go ahead and blow in me like a fucking Muppet.
[00:44:26] - [Beth]
Terrifying.
[00:44:26] - [Gerry]
Welcome back to super ghost. We'll be right back.
[00:44:30] - [Beth]
Well, as in it's I think between three to four and four to five, it was, like, seven ish years each. So
[00:44:37] - [Gerry]
Yeah. Yeah. But yeah. Steve machine, man. Steve machine.
[00:44:44] - [Gerry]
Looks pretty cool. Steve is suffering.
[00:44:47] - [Beth]
Steve is suffering.
[00:44:49] - [Gerry]
Steam is Where does
[00:44:50] - [Aaron]
the air con drink Oh, to
[00:44:58] - [Gerry]
man. Alright. Well
[00:45:00] - [Aaron]
Now now I'll be right back.
[00:45:03] - [Gerry]
We'll be right back. Speaking of the Wii, I wanna I wanna write a a book called Speaking of the Wii because, man
[00:45:32] - [Beth]
Are you talking about the Wii?
[00:45:33] - [Gerry]
Are you talking about the been I've been speaking about the Wii lately, baby. What are guys been playing? Because I've been playing I've been playing some stuffs.
[00:45:42] - [Speaker 2]
Oh, no.
[00:45:42] - [Aaron]
We haven't heard from you for like
[00:45:45] - [Gerry]
Yeah. Where have you
[00:45:46] - [Aaron]
been? Ten years. Go ahead and hit us up. Let us know. What what were you playing?
[00:45:52] - [Beth]
I was playing and finished. So I had in in the last since the last time you saw me, I started, played, and finished ball ball x pit.
[00:46:02] - [Gerry]
Hell yeah. Yeah. Pit or ball cross pit?
[00:46:09] - [Aaron]
Skip cross?
[00:46:11] - [Speaker 2]
Skip. I
[00:46:12] - [Beth]
don't care. I mean, I I just been saying x.
[00:46:17] - [Gerry]
Ball x. Ball x pit.
[00:46:22] - [Speaker 2]
Please please somebody tell me they've thought
[00:46:24] - [Gerry]
of saying that by now. Bollocks pit.
[00:46:26] - [Aaron]
Bollocks pit.
[00:46:27] - [Gerry]
Just get in that pit of bollocks. Wait. Doesn't bollocks mean like balls in fucking British?
[00:46:33] - [Aaron]
Or shit. I don't know what they I don't know what their slang is.
[00:46:36] - [Speaker 2]
Bollocks. Yeah.
[00:46:38] - [Beth]
Bollocks. Yeah. That means like fuck or shit or
[00:46:41] - [Gerry]
Fucking bollocks. I'm sorry.
[00:46:44] - [Aaron]
Sorry. Yeah.
[00:46:52] - [Gerry]
Best review. Put that on the box. Yeah. It's good. It
[00:46:56] - [Beth]
was fun. It was fun. Did I I loved Brick Breakers, like, when I was little. I, like, you know, I love Brick Breaker. So I, like, played a lot of those.
[00:47:09] - [Beth]
So that was appealing for sure. I then I saw that there was, like, a little town or, like, little like, you know, you could build up and and and stuff like that. It is
[00:47:21] - [Speaker 2]
not The town building is yeah. Not not the
[00:47:23] - [Beth]
case. No. It's not. I thought it was gonna be more like an actual town builder, and I was
[00:47:29] - [Gerry]
It's not really.
[00:47:30] - [Beth]
It's not?
[00:47:31] - [Gerry]
Not really the focus. Excuse me. It's not really the focus of the game.
[00:47:34] - [Beth]
No. Which was slightly disappointing because I was like, oh, I wanted to go out on like, I like that aspect of did you play loop hero?
[00:47:45] - [Aaron]
Yes.
[00:47:47] - [Beth]
So I was kind of thinking it was going to be a little bit more like Loop Hero, like in that cycle, like of building up this like this town, doing a little bit of a town builder, but that there would be, like, some aspects of, like, story and stuff there when you're building up the town and stuff like that. None of that. There is literally no reason ever really like, is there's no story. There's you there's like a you click on the start game, like new game. There's like a crazy cutscene, like cutscene loosely, like, you know, and then you just play the rest of the game.
[00:48:25] - [Beth]
And then at the end when you do you kind of unlock new game plus and then you can kind of keep playing. That being said, super fun. Super fun doing the the actual levels are really enjoyable. I think the variety of special balls that you get that have, like, either freeze or fire bleed are, like, great
[00:48:53] - [Gerry]
Special balls, baby.
[00:48:55] - [Beth]
And, like, the the upgrades that you can make them.
[00:48:59] - [Speaker 2]
Well, I've never heard you do that. Give me
[00:49:10] - [Gerry]
all your special balls.
[00:49:11] - [Speaker 2]
Give me
[00:49:11] - [Beth]
your special What? It was it was that was fun. Kind of like at a certain point in time about halfway through, I unlocked a building that let me pair up two different heroes together. And then so then you're starting to, like
[00:49:33] - [Gerry]
Oh, I didn't get that far.
[00:49:34] - [Beth]
Oh, Jared. And then it gets really fun because you're like, okay. How does this person's special ability kind of go with this person and how can they kinda and so you start comboing your your special, like, the care or the hero's special traits with then the special balls, and then you're like, it it gets Like very fun.
[00:49:58] - [Aaron]
Fuck.
[00:50:00] - [Beth]
It gets very fun. Yeah. I think I could look it up, I guess. But I uh-huh. And I didn't yeah.
[00:50:15] - [Beth]
I I just got to the point where I unlocked new game plus and then I was like kind of like, I'm good. But there you can play a bunch more. I think there's more levels and more difficulties with new game plus, like, as you do that. So it is fun. It's good.
[00:50:34] - [Beth]
And it's pretty like simple little game that I don't think it's very expensive either.
[00:50:38] - [Aaron]
That's good.
[00:50:39] - [Beth]
$20 Canadian. So I don't know how much it is for America. Probably $10.
[00:50:45] - [Aaron]
It might be 10 or like 10 or 5.
[00:50:48] - [Beth]
No. Yeah, so it is good. It's cheap. It's cheap. It's definitely worth playing.
[00:50:55] - [Beth]
I think that it's not going to blow anybody's socks off.
[00:51:00] - [Aaron]
It's fine. Contrary to what I've seen on, like, blue sky and shit. I've seen people, like, busting their pants apart.
[00:51:08] - [Gerry]
I've seen people's socks blow right
[00:51:10] - [Speaker 2]
Okay. The fuck Also Fair enough. Fair enough.
[00:51:14] - [Beth]
It didn't it didn't blow my eyes.
[00:51:15] - [Aaron]
2025 needs to stop coming out with dank awesome new rogue likes because I still I still need to do more shit in mega bonk. I still need to do more shit in Hades two and I still need to do more shit in like this.
[00:51:31] - [Gerry]
I still need to play Hades
[00:51:32] - [Aaron]
16 other ones that came out that I bought
[00:51:34] - [Gerry]
and started.
[00:51:35] - [Beth]
Hades two
[00:51:36] - [Speaker 2]
is You know what we have to start next
[00:51:38] - [Aaron]
though, dude?
[00:51:39] - [Gerry]
Look outside. We had this conversation two Yeah.
[00:51:44] - [Aaron]
That's coming next.
[00:51:45] - [Gerry]
It's time.
[00:51:46] - [Aaron]
That's coming next.
[00:51:47] - [Gerry]
It's time. Mhmm. Because we well, No. Here's what I'll say
[00:51:51] - [Beth]
I'm kidnapping you to play the seance game.
[00:51:54] - [Gerry]
Yeah, that too. But come next week, this time next week, I ain't playing none of that shit.
[00:52:01] - [Aaron]
Play Look Outside?
[00:52:02] - [Gerry]
Because I'm gonna be playing Metroid Prime
[00:52:04] - [Aaron]
four. Oh, yeah.
[00:52:06] - [Speaker 2]
That's next week. Oh. Beth,
[00:52:10] - [Gerry]
time to activate and wake up. Get your $100 ready.
[00:52:16] - [Speaker 2]
Oh, shit.
[00:52:17] - [Beth]
No. I mean, I just I'm freaking out. What do you mean next week is September?
[00:52:23] - [Aaron]
Yeah. That sucks too.
[00:52:36] - [Gerry]
Here's what I will say. I never played Metroid Prime three, because I thought
[00:52:45] - [Speaker 2]
that game sucked, because it was on the Wii, because
[00:52:48] - [Gerry]
of the I'm motion here to tell you that I was fucking wrong, because that game is fucking good. And I liked it quite a bit. Is it as good as Metroid Prime one? Fuck no, it's not. It's pretty goddamn good.
[00:53:03] - [Gerry]
I think I like it much more than Prime two. I'll go there. I'll go there. It's better than Prime two. Like, Prime two just felt like DLC of Prime one.
[00:53:16] - [Gerry]
That wasn't quite as good as Prime one. It was still good, but like, man, it's pretty good. Like, the the motion controls at first, was like, don't know how I feel about this, but there's a lot of like settings that you can tweak that allows you to change the way that the sensitivity works. And like, the sensitivity doesn't just work as like, oh, how fast the cursor moves. It changes like, if it's one to one like your motion with the Wiimote controls like when the camera moves, or if it's like the camera doesn't move until your cursor goes over so far on one end.
[00:53:53] - [Speaker 2]
So, it's kind of moving a little
[00:53:54] - [Gerry]
bit smoother. Yeah. So, there's some good stuff there, but yeah, it was about twelve to thirteen hours, I guess.
[00:54:01] - [Aaron]
That's good.
[00:54:01] - [Gerry]
I wanted to really play it before Prime four came out, because I was like, I feel like I should at least give this an honest go, and if I don't like it, then whatever. I'll I'll stop. But I was I was hooked pretty quickly, because I I had only ever seen the intro to that game, and that was it.
[00:54:18] - [Aaron]
And that's the one that introduced no, it was Echoes that introduced Dark Samus, wasn't it? Or no, that was the Dark I and Light don't remember.
[00:54:28] - [Gerry]
No, think dark yeah, Dark Samus was in prime two. She because
[00:54:32] - [Beth]
that was the whole light
[00:54:33] - [Gerry]
and dark. She comes back in prime three. Okay.
[00:54:35] - [Beth]
Yeah.
[00:54:37] - [Gerry]
There's a really crazy Ridley fight in prime three.
[00:54:39] - [Aaron]
Oh, that's cool.
[00:54:41] - [Gerry]
Yeah. I don't I think you fight him in prime one, I think. Pretty sure you do. Yeah. Beth, you played prime one.
[00:54:48] - [Gerry]
Right? Yeah. And prime two?
[00:54:51] - [Beth]
I watched my mom play two.
[00:54:53] - [Gerry]
Right. Yeah. I knew there was one that you didn't. And then you have you seen any of prime three?
[00:54:59] - [Beth]
Yeah. Yeah. And then I didn't
[00:55:02] - [Aaron]
you actually play it
[00:55:02] - [Speaker 2]
or just
[00:55:03] - [Aaron]
watched somebody play it?
[00:55:04] - [Gerry]
What didn't you like about it?
[00:55:06] - [Beth]
Something to know about me.
[00:55:08] - [Gerry]
Oh, here we go. Buckle up.
[00:55:10] - [Aaron]
Oh, man.
[00:55:12] - [Beth]
I fucking
[00:55:14] - [Speaker 2]
go hate.
[00:55:16] - [Beth]
Yeah. Tell us motion controls. Everything about it. I hate them. I hate Skyward sword.
[00:55:25] - [Beth]
I hate
[00:55:26] - [Speaker 2]
I know.
[00:55:26] - [Beth]
Three. I I I just I hate anything that's motion control.
[00:55:30] - [Gerry]
I sports. Don't
[00:55:32] - [Beth]
No. I don't like it. I don't don't. I want a controller. I want a controller in my hand.
[00:55:38] - [Beth]
I don't want I know. I can't. I hate them
[00:55:42] - [Aaron]
so much.
[00:55:44] - [Beth]
I even hate
[00:55:45] - [Gerry]
I didn't know this about you.
[00:55:47] - [Beth]
I even hate that this
[00:55:48] - [Gerry]
long, and I didn't know this about you.
[00:55:49] - [Beth]
Yeah. I even hate it, like, the gyroscope crap in, like Like,
[00:55:54] - [Speaker 2]
Breath of
[00:55:54] - [Aaron]
the Wild and Splatoon?
[00:55:57] - [Beth]
Ever all of it. I hate it. If there is any like, the first thing I
[00:56:03] - [Gerry]
Beth.
[00:56:03] - [Beth]
Yeah. There Oh.
[00:56:05] - [Gerry]
I You're killing.
[00:56:07] - [Beth]
If there's something, like, that my body, like, you know, rejects about it. Yeah. Do you ever you're like I don't know. There's I'm like, this is sacrilegious. I don't want it near me.
[00:56:22] - [Beth]
Don't want it
[00:56:22] - [Gerry]
The knife is already in super far already.
[00:56:26] - [Aaron]
It's probably out this that knife with this other knife.
[00:56:29] - [Speaker 2]
I fucking hate it.
[00:56:32] - [Gerry]
It's Britney, bitch.
[00:56:34] - [Beth]
So, yeah. That's my I just don't I just don't vibe with it. I don't like it. I've never liked it. I don't even like the like, I didn't even to be I don't like any of it.
[00:56:45] - [Beth]
I just don't like it. I don't know. I can't I can't fully explain it. I just like I reject it. Like I
[00:56:52] - [Aaron]
Every time you like
[00:56:53] - [Beth]
a barrier.
[00:56:54] - [Aaron]
Your hand like barely touches so we remote and you're like you're throwing up and like your your fingers are crawling backward.
[00:57:04] - [Beth]
Yeah. Yeah. I Yeah. It's like the equivalent feeling of, like, if I was possessed by a demon and someone, like, threw holy water at me. I just felt like, ah.
[00:57:16] - [Beth]
Like I don't like it. I and I never have. I've Been a staunch hater.
[00:57:26] - [Gerry]
I don't under I can't I
[00:57:28] - [Aaron]
mean, I don't I don't like I don't love motion controls, but I I'm
[00:57:33] - [Gerry]
You shut your mouth.
[00:57:35] - [Speaker 2]
Hold on.
[00:57:36] - [Gerry]
I'm not gonna let this
[00:57:37] - [Aaron]
corrupt to Listen to me. I don't love motion controls, but I think they're pretty cool, like, in in, like, wee bowling, I love that I can just go, and, like, actually bowl, or, like, hold a baseball bat, or, hold it all funkily and,
[00:57:50] - [Gerry]
like, still How actual sorry. I don't mean to say actual games. I'm just gonna say actual games. How many actual games have you played on
[00:57:59] - [Aaron]
Wii? I mean, I've played a lot. Those are just my two, like, go to my go to, I guess, examples, because I mean, I've also played
[00:58:07] - [Gerry]
What's a what's a memorable game that you've played on Wii?
[00:58:09] - [Aaron]
Dude, Red Steel. Holy shit. That was cool. Yes. Game is
[00:58:14] - [Gerry]
way better than anybody gives a credit for.
[00:58:19] - [Aaron]
We talked about WarioWare smooth moves. That's a really good one. Dude.
[00:58:26] - [Gerry]
Alright. Now We're back. We're back. We're back.
[00:58:28] - [Speaker 2]
We're back. Back.
[00:58:31] - [Aaron]
Anything more to say about Metroid?
[00:58:32] - [Gerry]
Don't let
[00:58:33] - [Aaron]
that How long is this?
[00:58:34] - [Gerry]
Come on. Who cares? Everybody's cheering for you because we're back. We're totally back. There's
[00:58:41] - [Aaron]
You might as well wait till it's
[00:58:42] - [Gerry]
people outside are losing their minds right now. We're we're we're here. We're downtown.
[00:58:46] - [Beth]
This is long.
[00:58:47] - [Aaron]
Call 911. We need to get these people off
[00:58:49] - [Speaker 2]
the street. Turn it off.
[00:58:50] - [Aaron]
Can you
[00:58:50] - [Speaker 2]
make it stop? Going. Can you even turn it?
[00:58:53] - [Aaron]
Wait.
[00:58:53] - [Gerry]
Alright. Shut the fuck up, guys. Shut the guys. Guys. Shut the fuck Okay.
[00:59:00] - [Beth]
You need a shorter one.
[00:59:01] - [Aaron]
Metroid Prime three though.
[00:59:03] - [Speaker 2]
It's just there. I didn't put that there.
[00:59:09] - [Aaron]
Any more about Metroid though? Or is that a
[00:59:12] - [Gerry]
No, I don't wanna talk about that anymore. Aw.
[00:59:15] - [Speaker 2]
You can talk about I'm
[00:59:16] - [Gerry]
just kidding. I'm just kidding. It's good.
[00:59:19] - [Aaron]
Any motorcycles? It's very
[00:59:20] - [Gerry]
good. There are no motorcycles, but I mean you do fly around a lot. Not like you just choose where you wanna go. You get in your ship and you're like, bring me to that planet, and then you go to that planet. But like, in the ship and going to a different planet is pretty much just like getting in an elevator and going to a different area in like It's two d kinda crazy how much of like, two d Metroid's DNA is in those games, just on like a three d level.
[00:59:47] - [Gerry]
I've also have not played a single second of Metroid Prime three without being baked. So my my whole time was just
[00:59:56] - [Speaker 2]
like, oh my god, dude. It's so amazing. Oh, the gun moves when I'm Like
[01:00:06] - [Gerry]
a blind person?
[01:00:08] - [Beth]
Am Samus.
[01:00:10] - [Speaker 2]
Oh, shit, dude.
[01:00:11] - [Gerry]
You do get to have a glimpse of Zero Suit Samus at the very end. Dude, I laughed so hard. I guess spoilers for the end of Metroid Prime three. I laughed so hard at the end because like, shit goes the fuck down, crazy boss fight, pretty epic boss fight at the end. And then like, shit blows up and like the commander guy's like, where's Samus?
[01:00:33] - [Gerry]
And it's like, we've lost connection, sir. We don't know where she has. And he's like, oh, well. And then you just see like a bunch of explosions and then you see like her little ship like like come cruising by and like it just zooms in and shows her like going like this. She literally does a thumbs up.
[01:00:53] - [Gerry]
She does a thumbs up and then
[01:00:55] - [Speaker 2]
it shows inside of her cockpit and there's just this big glowing button that says mission complete and she like hits it. That sounds like what happened to this ending? It was so cool and then it was just like, it turned into like a fucking eighties action.
[01:01:12] - [Aaron]
Sounds like a silent joke ending.
[01:01:15] - [Speaker 2]
Yeah. Oh my god, dude. I was like, I
[01:01:19] - [Gerry]
was also pretty stoned, but I
[01:01:20] - [Speaker 2]
was also just like, why is this happening?
[01:01:24] - [Aaron]
That's cool.
[01:01:26] - [Gerry]
Yeah. It was pretty cool actually.
[01:01:29] - [Aaron]
Oh, shit.
[01:01:30] - [Beth]
That's kinda cute.
[01:01:32] - [Gerry]
Yeah. I don't I don't like, okay. So I don't know how you guys feel about the, you know, shit that's been said about Metroid Prime four. I'm looking at you, Greg. About these NPCs, and like some of the some of the design choices that people are saying they took, like, well, the bike.
[01:01:55] - [Gerry]
People lost their fucking minds over that bike.
[01:01:57] - [Beth]
Hate the bike. I also hate motorcycles in case.
[01:02:01] - [Aaron]
I haven't been wait. So you hate Connecticut too? Goddamn it. Podcast over. I thought we were back.
[01:02:10] - [Gerry]
So much further than we were before.
[01:02:12] - [Aaron]
I've been reading too much.
[01:02:13] - [Gerry]
This is the furthest I've ever been, Sam. Or Frodo, mister Frodo, this is the furthest I've ever been.
[01:02:20] - [Aaron]
I haven't read too much into all the controversy with Metro. I just don't know. I've been just waiting to experience it myself and then see like, I don't
[01:02:29] - [Gerry]
Are you buying it day one?
[01:02:31] - [Aaron]
Maybe not day one because I have a lot of shit. Gotta finish first, man.
[01:02:35] - [Beth]
Yeah. I'm not gonna get day one either.
[01:02:37] - [Speaker 2]
You're not?
[01:02:37] - [Gerry]
Oh, shit.
[01:02:38] - [Beth]
No. I saw the saw the motorcycle and I said no longer a day one purchase.
[01:02:45] - [Speaker 2]
Well,
[01:02:48] - [Beth]
okay. So Octopath Traveler Zero is coming out on the same day and it has a town builder, and Metroid has a motorcycle. And so that was the thing that tipped the balance for me. I was like
[01:03:01] - [Aaron]
That tipped the goddamn scale?
[01:03:03] - [Beth]
It did tip the scales. It tipped the scales for me because I I was like, I was really torn on between the two, which one I wanted, and then I saw the city builder, but like, you're rebuilding a town that got destroyed. And and then I saw the motorcycle and I was like, okay, know which one I'm gonna get.
[01:03:23] - [Aaron]
What if, oh man, what if like maybe a couple hours since the octopus zero, they're like, oh, here's a character who rides a motorcycle and then you've got a motorcycle guy in your party now.
[01:03:34] - [Beth]
I'd be disappointed.
[01:03:38] - [Aaron]
Ghost Rider.
[01:03:40] - [Beth]
I like I'm like I'll be disappointed and you're like
[01:03:42] - [Speaker 2]
that's I love that. That's cool, man. That's cool. That's cool.
[01:03:50] - [Aaron]
Yeah. It has to No. I I meant, like, if they're really just a character that would be cool. Not for you, but for me.
[01:03:57] - [Speaker 2]
For for a long time. That's pretty cool. Yeah.
[01:04:00] - [Gerry]
Yeah. Do it again.
[01:04:02] - [Beth]
Awesome. Sick. I love that for you. Sick, bro.
[01:04:07] - [Gerry]
By the way, bollocks literally means testicles.
[01:04:10] - [Aaron]
Sweet, man. Yeah. Why can't they just say testicles? Yep. I mean, I guess we say
[01:04:15] - [Speaker 2]
balls. Yeah.
[01:04:17] - [Gerry]
Yeah. Testicle x
[01:04:21] - [Aaron]
pit.
[01:04:22] - [Gerry]
No. It's just testicle pit because bollocks bollocks. Do you get it?
[01:04:27] - [Aaron]
I get it, but, like, it's not the full word, motherfucker. I'm trying to make a joke too. Whatever.
[01:04:38] - [Beth]
Moving on.
[01:04:40] - [Aaron]
Ben, is your bit about met metrid prim?
[01:04:45] - [Beth]
Yeah. Are you done?
[01:04:46] - [Gerry]
I think so.
[01:04:47] - [Beth]
Did you have anything else?
[01:04:48] - [Gerry]
I'll have a lot more to say about that game next week after it comes out. Okay. I'm sure.
[01:05:08] - [Aaron]
Holy shit. I can't stop playing Kirby air riders. I'm addicted. Oh, yes.
[01:05:13] - [Gerry]
Tell me more. Take like more.
[01:05:15] - [Aaron]
Syringe on the planet and just fucking, like, right into my arm.
[01:05:19] - [Gerry]
Why don't you have this game? What?
[01:05:21] - [Beth]
It's expensive.
[01:05:23] - [Gerry]
I know. That's the only thing holding me back.
[01:05:24] - [Aaron]
So, a little bit of backstory. I'm a big, huge, gigantic fan of the first game. I played the goddamn piss out of the first game on the GameCube back in the day. Like, if mostly the city trial because there was just nothing like that, unless unless you were playing fucking, like, need for speed underground or something stupid. Not not saying that's stupid, because need need for speed underground is cool shit, but so in so Kirby air ride has the city trial mode.
[01:05:54] - [Aaron]
I'll talk more about, and I I played that, like, all the goddamn time. I I unlocked, like, goddamn near everything. I played and played and played until I unlocked Meta Knight, and yeah. So Air Riders is, like it's it's the first game, but they fucking amped it up, like, five times more. It's it's nuts.
[01:06:14] - [Aaron]
So there's there's four modes. Right? There's there's air ride.
[01:06:17] - [Gerry]
Is it truly, like, the smash of fucking, like, racing games?
[01:06:22] - [Aaron]
Kinda. Because it's just, like, it's just a shit ton of Kirby characters and like
[01:06:29] - [Gerry]
But yeah, sorry, tell me about those modes, because that's what is interesting to me, is like, what's because you said something about some fucking RPG or something. Dude,
[01:06:37] - [Aaron]
there's so much. So see, there's air ride mode, which is your standard like racing mode, you know, you pick a character and there's so there's a ton of different characters like this Kirby, Gooey, my boy Rick, there's King Dedede, Meta Knight, Doroach, there's a bunch of character. You can be a fucking Waddle Dee and all that shit.
[01:06:55] - [Speaker 2]
Oh,
[01:06:55] - [Aaron]
man. Each character has different stats and shit too, like, your fat boy characters will have more health, more offense, but they they won't do shit when it comes to to turning, like, they'll just be like like, they'll have zero turn ability and shit like that. And there's different there's different vehicles that have like, they they'll control so differently, like, there's your regular balanced warp star, but then then there's, like, weird shit like the the bulk star where it only runs when you charge it up all the way. There's the fucking formula star that turns for shit, but it's got, like, the the fastest top speed in the whole game. There's, like, the shadow star that does a lot of damage when you hit somebody with it.
[01:07:41] - [Aaron]
There's this and that like all the vehicles have cool different unique awesome effects. Beth. I'm sure you would know you played the first game, right? Okay. Yeah.
[01:07:51] - [Aaron]
Your standard race mode pick character pick a vehicle pick a track. There's no Grand Prix mode which kind of sucks, but there is like there's there's cool rules you can turn on for each race like there's one that makes it so it's it's like a swap relay. I think it's what it's called. So when you finish a lap, you'll hop off your current vehicle onto a new one, do a lap with that vehicle, hop off to a new vehicle, and then complete the race with that. So that's kinda cool.
[01:08:21] - [Aaron]
There and the tracks are really fucking cool too because it'll be shit that you might have seen from another Kirby game. Like, there's one where you'll circle, like, you ride on these rails circling, like, down and around this this big giant whirlpool in this ocean. That cat is loving that shit, by the way.
[01:08:42] - [Gerry]
Yeah. For for the for the listener, I mean, you should if you're just a listener at this point, you should be a video.
[01:08:47] - [Aaron]
Yeah. Go watch her on YouTube.
[01:08:48] - [Gerry]
Beth is Beth is petting that cat, like, it needs it.
[01:08:53] - [Beth]
She was outside the door screaming. So I just was like, okay. Just let her in give her some pets until she
[01:09:03] - [Aaron]
till she's done.
[01:09:04] - [Beth]
Loses until she's done. So but she's she's really old, so I don't like
[01:09:11] - [Gerry]
Is that cattle? This is Ferno. Right?
[01:09:13] - [Beth]
This is Ferno. Yeah. She she's, like, 15.
[01:09:18] - [Aaron]
Damn. Holy shit.
[01:09:20] - [Beth]
Yeah. So Yeah. So she's getting, like, really thin.
[01:09:23] - [Speaker 2]
Aw.
[01:09:24] - [Beth]
And just yeah. But she's, like, to be like, she's getting really cuddly, like, a lot more cuddly. I've only been around for the past five years. But, yes, you're so cute. I'm only been around for the past five years, but, like, my my aunt and uncle are, like, she's getting, like, girl, chill.
[01:09:48] - [Beth]
Like, you're
[01:09:49] - [Aaron]
She's getting a lot more attached.
[01:09:50] - [Beth]
Oh my gosh. So attached to everybody. And really cute. This, like, little anecdote, though, is that she loves coming in my room around this time before I go to sleep. So I give her, like, really, like, you know, really into, like, good pets.
[01:10:08] - [Aaron]
For fucking nuggies.
[01:10:09] - [Beth]
And then I give her a nuggie and I give her chin scratches and stuff like that. And then for like, you know, like twenty, thirty minutes, like, for a while. And then then she just gets up and she leaves, and then she goes and goes to sleep either
[01:10:25] - [Gerry]
by of heavy petting. Tune in next time.
[01:10:31] - [Beth]
But the cute thing is that last Christmas when I was gone to Newfoundland's apparently every day she would stand outside my door and just scream and they and and like they had to be like that's not here. Like she's not here right right now. Yeah. And she was like, where? And I was like, oh, sweetie.
[01:10:58] - [Gerry]
Sweetie. Joey, he's got like a fucking something wrong with his dewclaw. I think he might have hooked it in something, and it's like all swollen and bulbous looking. When I see it, when I first noticed it, was like, what the fuck is going on with this fucking claw? Because it was like this big red blistery looking thing, I was like,
[01:11:18] - [Speaker 2]
what fuck is that?
[01:11:20] - [Gerry]
So like, they put him on a bunch of meds, but now, because they tried like a antibiotic that didn't really do anything, they gave him anti inflammatories. It helped a little bit. Like, it did help a little bit. But now he's on fucking steroids because they were like, he could be allergic to something. So now he's on Fanectil or something, which is like prednisone.
[01:11:46] - [Gerry]
And this poor dog is just like so fucking out of it. Like, he's just like, he just walks around and he's just
[01:11:53] - [Speaker 2]
like, what the fuck?
[01:11:55] - [Aaron]
Was he playing best on prime three? Fuck.
[01:11:58] - [Beth]
He's gonna bulk up like crazy.
[01:12:00] - [Gerry]
Yeah, he has. The man, the first the first fucking night I was like, what's happening to my dog? I'm like, phone the fucking vet back. I'm like, he just took these pills and I think he's bloated. I think he's gonna die.
[01:12:10] - [Gerry]
And they were like, well, can't even emergency.
[01:12:14] - [Beth]
He's just gonna get
[01:12:15] - [Gerry]
so bulky. He just got like so beefy and like thick, but I thought he was bloated. But it's also because he's like drinking a ton of water now, and like, he'll go and chug a bunch, like, he I barely seen that dog drink to begin with. Like, he's small. Shlop.
[01:12:32] - [Gerry]
Shlop. He didn't really drink a lot. But like, he he's like constantly drinking now. So he's always just like, ugh. Like, he's always going around like
[01:12:42] - [Beth]
he ate too much. That's I So
[01:12:45] - [Gerry]
I feel bad, and I was like tripping fucking balls the other night when he was like swelling up, I was like, what is happening to my dog? And like, just will be standing up and he'll be like, it's bedtime, and he'll just like lay down on a bed, but like, not like he normally does, where he'll be like, paws up front, like, with his head on his paws. He just like, flops over, like, fully on his side, just like, like, instantly. It's hilarious but frightening at first. Any pet owners, if you ever put your dogs on steroids, they're not dying.
[01:13:22] - [Gerry]
Yeah.
[01:13:22] - [Beth]
I had a friend whose dog needs to go on steroids and they were a toy poodle.
[01:13:28] - [Gerry]
My god. Toy Ripped. Poodle
[01:13:29] - [Beth]
Got so bulky. It was crazy.
[01:13:34] - [Speaker 2]
I was like, this is a big guy.
[01:13:37] - [Gerry]
Is a pussy. It looks like his ribs got bigger. That's what it was like. It's like he didn't really get fatter or anything. It's just like his whole chest and base is just like puffed out.
[01:13:51] - [Gerry]
And he just walks around like,
[01:13:53] - [Speaker 2]
holy fuck.
[01:13:56] - [Beth]
It's wild.
[01:13:58] - [Aaron]
Oh, man. Oh my god. Kirby air
[01:13:59] - [Speaker 2]
riders. Yeah. So anyway, to Kirby air riders.
[01:14:07] - [Aaron]
So the the air ride mode, that's your race. There's another little race mode called I think it's called top ride where it's like a down it's like a top down little mini race kind of thing where you'll what is it? Like, I know in the first game, you only had a choice of, like, two stars and they all control differently, but in this one, you can use like any vehicle and of course, it'll have like the same same quirks and mechanics of those of whatever vehicle you use, but it's a top down racing game, still pretty fun every now and again. Then there's the mother fucking city trial. They they've added so much shit to it, dude.
[01:14:46] - [Aaron]
Like, it's so much bigger, so much fucking more vertical, like, there's, like, sky islands you can hop onto, the UFO still comes around every so often, Dyna Blade will swoop in, you know, to beat the shit out of that bitch. So Yeah. City trial is this mode in Kirby air rider and riders or whatever. You're in you're in this big city. You start off on just a junky little compact star.
[01:15:13] - [Aaron]
I think it's what it's called. And you'll go around the city, you look for a new vehicle because the compact star sucks dick. You want a better vehicle. Then along the way, you'll collect, there'll be power ups on the ground that will increase, like, your acceleration or charge or top speed, weight, offense. There's, like, a million different stats to increase, but that's the main that's the main thing you wanna be doing is going around and collecting power ups.
[01:15:38] - [Aaron]
And you can also go around and like break these boxes that'll drop like fucking three or four power ups. There'll be like rare boxes that'll drop even more power ups, but you also have a chance of dropping like a piece of a rare machine like hydra or dragoon. There's like, there's shit everywhere to go break apart and get more power ups. There's also, like, there's a lot of lot more nooks and crannies you can go to go and explore to. Okay.
[01:16:06] - [Aaron]
Like, there's buildings you can go into. You can go upstairs. It's also they made it so you like, if you're if
[01:16:13] - [Beth]
you're No images in the building? What? You can go into the buildings and stuff now?
[01:16:18] - [Aaron]
Yeah. You can go into buildings and, like, they made it so you won't fall off as easily. So like if you're just driving straight, you'll fall like right off the building or whatever, but if you're doing like a little charge turn, you won't fall off. So as long as you like when you approach the side of a building, you hold the charge turn and whatever, you'll you won't fall off, and you can just boost toward whatever you need to get to. And there's a lot of cool events that they added to the game.
[01:16:44] - [Aaron]
Like, you still have the meteors. You still have Dyna Blade. Sometimes these, like, stone pillars will come out of nowhere, And if you break them in time, you'll get a a shit ton of power ups. They'll, like, spew all over the goddamn place, and you can go grab those. There's there's one where this giant wheel dude will, like, run throughout the city.
[01:17:03] - [Aaron]
Like, he'll just drive throughout the city, and if you get run over, you'll lose power ups and you'll take damage. And that's a big thing too in city trial is that if you take enough damage, your vehicle explodes, you know, to walk around on foot and go find a new vehicle and walking around on foot sucks dick because you'll get run over, You'll get
[01:17:23] - [Gerry]
It's a lot of lot of
[01:17:24] - [Speaker 2]
dick sucking going on in this Kirby.
[01:17:26] - [Aaron]
Yeah. There is. You'll get run you'll get run over. You can't pick up any power ups. You can't pick up any food or anything.
[01:17:33] - [Aaron]
You're just like just pedestrian mode, basically. So you go find a new vehicle, and then every so often too, they'll have, like, a small race or, like, a demo derby or, like, some other event you can take place in that'll, again, reward you with way more power ups than you would get from just, you know, riding around and picking one up off the goddamn ground. And then each each city trial has a five minute timer on it and once time is up, then you'll go play one of four stadium or not one of four. You're gonna play a stadium game, and there's just a shit ton of different games you could play. Like, there's the there's the demo derby where it's just a big old battle royale, like, you and all the players, and you're just trying to beat the shit out of each other who are last one standing wins.
[01:18:24] - [Aaron]
There's, like, rail panic, which is just, like, riding on rails and trying not to run into shit and try to, like, get to the finish. There's usual like race. There's a drag race. There's what is it? RuPaul's?
[01:18:39] - [Aaron]
The gourmet race. Yeah. There's a whole bunch of cool. What'd you say?
[01:18:46] - [Beth]
Drag race. He said RuPaul's?
[01:18:48] - [Aaron]
Yeah. So, yeah, city trial is really cool. There's just what's so addictive about it is that it's, like, it's so short, and it's so fun to just, like, to try to experiment with different vehicles and just, like, when you get your speed up your speed and charge up high enough, you'll just fly around the city constantly and pinball off of every goddamn thing and you can't really tell what's happening and I love that because you don't know what the fuck you're running into or, like, where you're gonna go. And yeah. That's great.
[01:19:23] - [Aaron]
And then the last mode is the RPG ish one. It's called Road Trip and you'll go from, like so from the start, you'll go to, like, a new area and then another area and so on. In between each area, there's, like you'll do you'll basically do, like, the the stadium games where you'll, like, do a race against enemies or sorry. He'll do a race against enemies or or a derby or whatever. And when you beat them, you get a power up.
[01:19:56] - [Aaron]
And, like, as you get power ups, you know, your your your stat whatever. Yeah. Just like city trial, your stats go up and I think I'm at, like, level a 129 now. I don't know how fucking long this is supposed to be, like, the the road trip thing, but yeah. It it's it's all there's, like, there's a cool little story that goes along with it too.
[01:20:20] - [Aaron]
Nice. It starts off it tell it tells you, like, how all the the vehicles or stars or whatever first came to Planet Popstar and then there's additional cutscenes that go into like, here's how these things were made and it's one of the it it kind of ties into other Kirby games too. What the fuck was I gonna say before that? Yeah. I mean, it's it's you don't earn, like, XP or anything like a traditional RPG.
[01:20:48] - [Aaron]
It's just, like, when you when you complete a challenge or whatever, you'll get a stat boost. But you can pick like one of three, like one of three activities to do like it'll be like, oh, do a gourmet race and you'll get a weight up or like do a fucking drag race and get a speed up or do a dust up derby and you get, you know, offense up. But then you can also go to the shop. You can buy power ups there. You can buy a new vehicle there.
[01:21:16] - [Aaron]
There's bosses that you'll fight and that each one has their own little challenge will have you do. I haven't beaten it yet because I keep going back to City Trial and playing that for like hours on end because I'm I'm a freak.
[01:21:32] - [Beth]
City trial is like the reason I liked Kirby air Rider.
[01:21:36] - [Aaron]
You should throw
[01:21:37] - [Gerry]
that on.
[01:21:38] - [Beth]
Yeah. It was hey, another thing about me guys. Sorry. I don't like racing games, but Kirby was the only, like, quote unquote racing game that I liked. But it was because of, like, the city trial and the like, there was, like wasn't there a free roam exploration in the city as well?
[01:21:57] - [Aaron]
Yeah. To an extent.
[01:21:59] - [Beth]
Yeah. To an extent. Like, there was like a way to just free roam in
[01:22:01] - [Aaron]
there. Yeah. There's a separate mode within city trial to where you can just free roam. Like, you won't collect power ups or anything and they roll people around. It'll be just you and then you can, like pick a vehicle and just walk around on your own two dumpy little feet and just explore everywhere.
[01:22:18] - [Beth]
Yeah. And I had a friend who I played that with like I who he owned it. And when I'd go over to his house and we would, you know, play games together, a lot of times he would create like stories for these like free modes on his own. Think like
[01:22:41] - [Aaron]
Like, Grand Theft Auto
[01:22:42] - [Beth]
role play kind of? Like, like, loosely D and D esque. Right? Like, there was, like, he would same he did the same thing with, like, Smash Bros for us where he would be like, okay, you're at this level, you're on this stage because of this is happening and you're fighting this one, and he would play the boss, like, the bad guy character. And then me and his either his little sister or one of our other friends would, like, play the good guys and we would go through stages like acting out and figuring out ways to defeat him and stuff like that.
[01:23:19] - [Beth]
But it was all like scripted in a sense because he had like planned these these things. So it was so fun. It was genuinely, like, such a positive fond memory I have of these things that he did. But he did that in air riders for me in that free roam kind of thing. So, like like, a reason why Kirby had to, like, go through these these, like, this city and stuff like that.
[01:23:50] - [Beth]
I can't remember anything specific anymore, but I just remember he did that and it was super fun. But we we also, like, played the the trials and did things and it was the only only recent game I've ever played that I had like a really good time with and hearing that there's the different modes and ways to play so that it's not just like a racer is is pretty cool.
[01:24:15] - [Aaron]
Yeah.
[01:24:16] - [Beth]
I like that they they have all of these things and seemed like they evolved on some of the concepts that they had so that there there's even more methods and ways to go about this from the first one, which is great. Yeah. That sounds cool.
[01:24:34] - [Aaron]
I can't, for the life of me, remember if the city trial in the first game had any other any other things you would play at the end of a city trial or if it was just a race.
[01:24:45] - [Beth]
Okay. I can't remember either.
[01:24:47] - [Aaron]
Yeah. This one has like, I'm still unlocking shit. Like, I I think I may be, like, like, 30% of shit unlocked. Like, there's a ton of shit you can unlock. Like, there's like, the the shit you unlock for each mode, like, you'll unlock new vehicles to customize.
[01:25:06] - [Aaron]
That's a big thing too. You can you can customize vehicles by putting, like, dumb little accessories that they don't don't have any effect on stats or anything. It's just, like, it's all cosmetic.
[01:25:17] - [Gerry]
So you
[01:25:17] - [Aaron]
can put, like
[01:25:18] - [Beth]
That's cute.
[01:25:18] - [Aaron]
Propellers here and, like, put a fucking fishing pole on the back and then put, like, tiger stripes all over the goddamn thing if you want like that's kind of cool. There's also you can customize your little your license. That's like that's basically your little gamer tag thing when you play online. Yeah. You can pull, like, different backgrounds on it.
[01:25:39] - [Aaron]
You put stickers on it. It's got lots of, like, retro Kirby shit in there too. Like, you can put a a Kirby superstar sprite of Kirby around your license if you want to. That's really cool. You can unlock Nice.
[01:25:53] - [Aaron]
What the fuck are they called? You can unlock the new characters. You can unlock new characters and, like, alternate colors for them. You can unlock new hats to put on them, like, can just have a fucking, like, onigiri on top of someone's head, a fucking samurai helmet on Rick's big dumb fucking You can you can unlock a pair of, like, cat ears and put them on gooey's head. That's pretty cool.
[01:26:17] - [Beth]
Gooey. That's that's super cool.
[01:26:20] - [Aaron]
God. There's just there's a shit ton of holy shit. There's a shit ton of stuff to unlock and just a ton of really cool modes to play at the end of each city trial, and that that's I think that's probably, like, why I'm so addicted to it is because I wanna play every mode, and I wanna unlock more shit all the time. That's Aaron bring clicking the place. Like, I haven't unlocked everything yet.
[01:26:40] - [Aaron]
I need to keep playing until I get everything and then once I hit that brick wall where I'm not unlocking shit anymore, then I'll stop.
[01:26:48] - [Beth]
Mhmm. Yeah. That's fair. That's fair. That you know,
[01:26:52] - [Gerry]
glad you're gonna start. Look outside.
[01:26:55] - [Aaron]
I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna side bitch Kirby for a little while because I've put entirely too much time into it already and I I wanna mainline look outside because that does look really fucking good.
[01:27:07] - [Gerry]
Yeah. And I mean, it's not how long to beat. Let's see.
[01:27:11] - [Aaron]
I think it said it was like six six hours.
[01:27:15] - [Gerry]
Let's find out. Thirteen hours.
[01:27:18] - [Aaron]
That's good. Well For an RPG. For
[01:27:22] - [Gerry]
an RPG, yeah. I like a little bite sized RPG.
[01:27:25] - [Aaron]
So Beth and Jerry, if you guys ever get Kirby air riders and and you
[01:27:30] - [Gerry]
I'm I think I will in January, actually. Yes.
[01:27:32] - [Aaron]
And you won't play some city trial. Fucking hit me up. I keep telling the fine time guys, like,
[01:27:39] - [Gerry]
Bonus is gonna be so good in January.
[01:27:40] - [Speaker 2]
I'm gonna buy Beth Kirby air riders. Yes. Then yeah. We'll all play
[01:27:44] - [Aaron]
it minus Greg.
[01:27:46] - [Gerry]
And Aaron gets nothing.
[01:27:48] - [Aaron]
I'll already have it. It's okay. I don't need to. Yeah. I keep I'm just kidding.
[01:27:52] - [Aaron]
I keep bugging the fine time guys, like, if you guys ever want somebody who plays city trial with, please, for the love of Christ, hit me up. But no, they don't. I'm playing with randos all the Play time
[01:28:03] - [Beth]
with me.
[01:28:04] - [Aaron]
Play with me. And oh. I'll play with you. And you can play online in like every mode too. That's kinda cool.
[01:28:09] - [Aaron]
Except for except for the road trip because that's a single player mode. We can play it all online. It's cool. Mhmm. Cool fun, good time.
[01:28:17] - [Beth]
Cool fun, good Good. Good.
[01:28:35] - [Gerry]
Beth, have you been playing anything other than Bollocks Pit?
[01:28:41] - [Beth]
Nothing worth talking about. I'm trying to think. Well, I I obviously
[01:28:47] - [Gerry]
Is this a thing where, like, you during your your break, you got back into, like, Final Fantasy 14 and, like, bought a bunch of shit?
[01:28:54] - [Beth]
I was gonna say, I I finished up ZA.
[01:29:00] - [Aaron]
Oh. Okay.
[01:29:02] - [Beth]
I've got the shiny charm, got it all. Love, obviously.
[01:29:07] - [Gerry]
So what's your final impression of that game?
[01:29:12] - [Beth]
It's my favorite, one of my probably favorite Pokemon games. Definitely my favorite Pokemon game on the Switch.
[01:29:18] - [Aaron]
Shit. Shatter than sword and shield.
[01:29:20] - [Gerry]
Over Scarlet Violet?
[01:29:22] - [Aaron]
Shit.
[01:29:23] - [Beth]
Sorry. Both of you said things at the same time.
[01:29:27] - [Aaron]
Here you go.
[01:29:28] - [Speaker 2]
I was waiting for you to say it, but I was gonna say it again.
[01:29:31] - [Aaron]
Better than Sword and Shield?
[01:29:33] - [Speaker 2]
Scarlet Violet?
[01:29:36] - [Beth]
For me, yes. For me, better than both, yes.
[01:29:42] - [Speaker 2]
Both what?
[01:29:43] - [Aaron]
Because we both said stuff.
[01:29:45] - [Beth]
Both of what you both have said, all of the things you've said. All four of the things you've said as someone who has played sword and shield and Scarlet and Violet. Yes.
[01:29:57] - [Gerry]
Sword and shield and
[01:29:58] - [Speaker 2]
Scarlet Just
[01:29:59] - [Beth]
to make sure it's it's my personally, it just like it to me. Yes. I I like it more. The ending, like, the post credit scene was I was oh. It hurt.
[01:30:16] - [Beth]
It hurt me. I thought it was but I I like I thought it was good. I enjoyed the actual story of it for the most part.
[01:30:24] - [Aaron]
Have Speak what? Speaking of that, I like, after I beat the game, I was, like, what the fuck is happening? What is any of this? What are they talking about? And I was, like, looking it up on a a Pokemon Wiki, and I was reading through it.
[01:30:38] - [Aaron]
I was, like, dude, I I need to just fucking play x or y finally. So I bought I bought x. I'm gonna play through that one of these days too because I've never played them and I want to have, like, like, the the genuine, like, the main Pokemon experience but, like, in Kalos and understand what in the goddamn shit is happening.
[01:31:02] - [Beth]
Yeah. Because so I I think we I talked about this a little bit last time, but x and y was kind of light on story aspects that were, like, relevant felt relevant and interesting. And I like x and y. Like, not saying I don't like it. I think it's a beautiful region.
[01:31:25] - [Beth]
I enjoy playing the game, but I think that in the terms of story, it is amongst Pokemon one of the weaker ones, which is saying something. But there was a kernel of a very interesting concept that was in x and y that I just don't think was fully explored and that has to like a big part of that was a z and his story and his background and everything. So getting to play through z a and getting more of that was to me very, very, like, interesting. And I I feel completely satisfied with my experience. I really enjoyed it, obviously.
[01:32:09] - [Beth]
It's one of it's it it to me, it is my favorite game, my poke my favorite Pokemon game on the Switch. Definitely not my favorite Pokemon game of all time or anything like that, but it is, you know, maybe in top five. Oh. I'm really looking forward to the I I know that, everyone is like, LOL. It's just Lumiose City again, but, like, white.
[01:32:30] - [Beth]
But I am looking forward to the DLC. I think that there is a lot of interesting things that they're adding like having breaking the level cap for Pokemon now. So that like you're like it like, you know, I think that it brings like that threat back. The going out and doing almost, like, expeditions in this world because you're you're only getting, like, a certain amount of time to go in and do this. So I'm like, there's a lot of stuff that I think is gonna be really fun, like, loop wise.
[01:33:02] - [Beth]
Yeah. So I I'm really looking forward to that. That's out on the December 10,
[01:33:08] - [Speaker 2]
which is going to
[01:33:08] - [Aaron]
be Yeah. It's right around the corner.
[01:33:10] - [Beth]
Yeah. It's tight. It's a tight one.
[01:33:12] - [Aaron]
You got the balance. Well, no. You said you're not gonna never mind. You said you're not gonna mess No.
[01:33:17] - [Beth]
It's gonna be yeah. No. It's gonna be zero. I'm gonna get Octopath traveler traveler zero on the fourth, and then I'm gonna the DLC. I can't
[01:33:25] - [Gerry]
believe you're gonna. Have to talk. I can't believe this
[01:33:29] - [Aaron]
is zero. That's not the mobile game. Is it is this just a whole new octopus?
[01:33:34] - [Beth]
Yeah. Yeah. It's like it's like their third one, but they're doing zero, but it's like custom like the character or it's fully customizable. Like your main character. Gonna have yeah.
[01:33:45] - [Aaron]
All of them or just your
[01:33:45] - [Beth]
main guy? Just whoever you choose. So or like your your player character. So there's that. But and then I tried playing.
[01:33:56] - [Beth]
So I every now and again, I like a good simulator game. And I got cash cleaning cash cleaner, cash cash cleaning simulator.
[01:34:08] - [Gerry]
Oh my god.
[01:34:08] - [Aaron]
That's fucking And
[01:34:12] - [Beth]
guys, it got too boring.
[01:34:17] - [Gerry]
And that's What did you expect?
[01:34:19] - [Beth]
I like no, I'm saying that like, I like it. Like I said, every now and again, like a sim simulator because I like the tedium of it. I like the the, you know, I get really into the flow of it.
[01:34:31] - [Gerry]
You like bread. There's a fucking bread simulator.
[01:34:34] - [Beth]
Yeah. No. I just saying that like I Jesus Christ, come at me so hard. I'm just saying that.
[01:34:42] - [Aaron]
Flow In turn. Too boring.
[01:34:44] - [Beth]
The flow didn't The the flow also, like, I think the flow started getting kind of like the user experience. It was like starting to get like, I was getting friction with it. Like, it it got to like, I loved Crime Clean Simulator. And so that one was really fun. And I think you got into like a really good flow state with cleaning up these crime scenes.
[01:35:10] - [Aaron]
Have you
[01:35:10] - [Gerry]
been power wash?
[01:35:12] - [Beth]
Yeah, and you can get into a good flow state with power wash for sure. And I guess, like, house slipper is not fully yeah. Like, kind of like that. So there's that too, and I really like that. But, yeah, I I think a cash cleaner.
[01:35:29] - [Beth]
Not a great great full experience. I think it started off strong. Great loop and flow state in the beginning. And then once when they started getting they started over complicating stuff, and I was like, now this isn't fun anymore.
[01:35:43] - [Aaron]
I'm gonna send you guys
[01:35:44] - [Beth]
You're adding too much.
[01:35:45] - [Gerry]
Real quick.
[01:35:47] - [Beth]
Yeah. So that's the that's why I said I don't really think the other things I've been playing are worth having much of a conversation about because
[01:35:53] - [Gerry]
Then you know what? It's never been a better time to talk about Random Recommendated Games. Random Recommendated Games. Mhmm. So, I got I got one.
[01:36:09] - [Gerry]
I got an interesting one. Beth, you would love this. It's Elebits on the Nintendo Wii. It uses all motion controls.
[01:36:22] - [Beth]
You're being facetious. Okay, I understand now.
[01:36:27] - [Gerry]
Elobits is kinda like if Pikmin was an ape escape game.
[01:36:32] - [Aaron]
Piak meow.
[01:36:33] - [Gerry]
Oh. Because it's like, you It's kinda like this very childlike Disney movie kind of setting of like, these parents telling these kids this story of the Elobits and stuff, and their parents are these inventors, and like they own this gun that can like lift things, but like what you have to do is like, you're just in a room, and you just have to fuck that room's shit up, and like find these little fucking like Pikmin looking elobit things, and the more you collect, the stronger your gun gets to lift other things. By the end of it, you're just whipping your entire fucking room around in a hurricane of chaos, looking for like one little thing like, and you're just like, where is it? What the fuck? Like you're like flipping the bed over and like, fuck.
[01:37:28] - [Gerry]
It's so I was laughing so hard and I
[01:37:30] - [Speaker 2]
was like, I don't
[01:37:31] - [Gerry]
think this means to be this funny like, But it was so entertaining to me and like, yeah, you're just like, you are fucking your goddamn house up looking for these little guys. But it's so like addicting, like you're just because like, you actually have to Here's another thing too, by the way. The way. That's a very noofie fucking Where did you get that? Where Who has been talking to you?
[01:37:57] - [Aaron]
People in the Midwest say that sometimes.
[01:38:01] - [Beth]
Are they the Irish get
[01:38:03] - [Speaker 2]
out
[01:38:03] - [Beth]
there? Don't know
[01:38:05] - [Aaron]
about that.
[01:38:06] - [Gerry]
Bye to bye. I noticed as I was playing Metroid Prime three because I've been playing a little bit of Wii now. Metroid Prime three and playing Elobits. I kinda had this crazy realization. Mind you, I've been pretty fucking stoned while playing Wii games, but I realized that the way that the Wii motion controls are kind of paved the way for modern VR controls.
[01:38:35] - [Aaron]
I could see that, yeah.
[01:38:38] - [Gerry]
Because in Elabits, you have to reach out and like use a and b together to like hook onto a drawer, and you pull back and the drawer opens. So like it had like that early kind of VR motion control kind of thing going on. So it's kinda crazy to go back and you're like Mhmm. Playing these games that came out in like 2006, and it's like, holy fuck, like this is kind of interesting for its time. I mean, we just had that episode, Aaron, where we talked about gen six, and I said how much I feel like the Wii in that generation was like, yeah, PS three, better graphics than PS two.
[01:39:23] - [Gerry]
Xbox three sixty, better graphics than an Xbox, but the Nintendo Wii was a totally different fucking experience than the GameCube, because the GameCube was just a console. The Nintendo Wii was like, hey, we're gonna like totally dismantle how you think you play video games. Also, here's a goddamn dildo for a fucking controller.
[01:39:45] - [Beth]
Yeah, they definitely yelled pivot loudly
[01:39:48] - [Gerry]
from them. Yes, very loudly with their whole entire chest. Yes. But like, yeah, Elephants has been a lot of fun. And you know what?
[01:39:59] - [Gerry]
If you have access to play some Wii games, you know what? I encourage you to try Elephants. It's just like, it's kinda got a vibe. It's kinda got a vibe.
[01:40:07] - [Beth]
Kinda got a vibe.
[01:40:08] - [Gerry]
Try it out. Yeah.
[01:40:12] - [Beth]
Right on. Left off.
[01:40:15] - [Gerry]
Who else has some stuff to talk to tell them to play without fail?
[01:40:24] - [Aaron]
I've got one.
[01:40:25] - [Speaker 2]
If you need
[01:40:26] - [Aaron]
to think of one, Beth.
[01:40:26] - [Beth]
No, I got I got one, and I got but I got like
[01:40:31] - [Gerry]
a You should also talk about the thing that you you told me to play, that you wanna play with us.
[01:40:39] - [Aaron]
Beth wants to play a game with us?
[01:40:42] - [Gerry]
Beth wants to play a game with moi. But it could be all of us.
[01:40:47] - [Aaron]
Fine. Have this
[01:40:48] - [Gerry]
thing where we Every so often Beth is like, alright, I have selected this game. I would like you to play this game for my entertainment, please.
[01:40:59] - [Speaker 2]
Entertain me, Jerry.
[01:41:01] - [Gerry]
Feed me grapes as you play the games I'm too scared to play.
[01:41:05] - [Speaker 2]
Entertain me.
[01:41:08] - [Beth]
Well, we can talk about that later, but I was gonna I have one that I think I recommended before, but it's on sale. So I just wanted 13 to Sentinels.
[01:41:19] - [Aaron]
Oh, yeah. Go get that. Okay.
[01:41:20] - [Beth]
I've It's on sale on yeah. So it's on sale on the PlayStation for the Black Friday thing. So I'm assuming it's also on sale on steam and other areas.
[01:41:33] - [Gerry]
So imagine so.
[01:41:34] - [Beth]
Go get 13 Sentinels. It's on sale. It is genuinely so good, especially if you'd like
[01:41:42] - [Aaron]
strategy RPGs some
[01:41:44] - [Beth]
now if you like some anime ass bullshit. Yeah. It's good. And and like genuinely, it's a fun story. Like you're the way that it comes together.
[01:41:55] - [Beth]
It's you're in it's very engaging. And the the I can't say fully what, like, the strategy aspect because it is a bit it's a tower defense. Like, the fighting is tower defense. It's very fun, though. Very fun tower defense.
[01:42:11] - [Gerry]
I thought it was kinda busy at first, but then it kinda just clicks.
[01:42:14] - [Beth]
What and when you when it clicks, you're like, ugh. It's so good. I love it. So, yes, play, you know, play 13 sentinels. Get it.
[01:42:25] - [Beth]
It's on sale. Then the other thing is a is a TV show I wanted to briefly say. It is a it's on Netflix.
[01:42:37] - [Gerry]
So Stranger Things.
[01:42:38] - [Aaron]
Animal Kingdom.
[01:42:39] - [Beth]
It's called nope. It's called haunted hotel.
[01:42:43] - [Aaron]
Oh, we've been watching this. It's good.
[01:42:45] - [Speaker 2]
It's got my boy Will
[01:42:46] - [Aaron]
Forte in it.
[01:42:48] - [Beth]
It's so good. It's so fun. It's so funny. And So it is
[01:42:54] - [Aaron]
And it's got the the other McPoyle brother in there, the one that that got his eye poked in.
[01:43:00] - [Gerry]
I can't
[01:43:00] - [Aaron]
think of his name.
[01:43:01] - [Gerry]
Yeah. What's his name? Yeah. Abaddon.
[01:43:06] - [Beth]
Jimmy. Yeah.
[01:43:07] - [Gerry]
Yep. Yep.
[01:43:08] - [Beth]
Yeah. I love him. He played a character that I absolutely loved in the TV show psych. And then Yeah.
[01:43:18] - [Gerry]
He was on Psych?
[01:43:19] - [Beth]
He was on Psych. He was one of my favorite, like, guest characters on Psych. He was in a couple episodes. Loved him.
[01:43:27] - [Gerry]
He's great. He's a great actor.
[01:43:29] - [Beth]
It's such a funny show. It's funny. It's but it's so if you don't know, it's, like, animated, but it's, like, adult it's, like, for adults.
[01:43:38] - [Speaker 2]
Like, Very.
[01:43:39] - [Beth]
They're not talking.
[01:43:40] - [Gerry]
You know? Animated show.
[01:43:42] - [Beth]
Yeah. It's it's an animated show, and it's sorry. My cat is having a hissy fit. But it's really good. I I think the animation style is good.
[01:43:53] - [Beth]
It's clever. It's very funny, and I know that Netflix tends to do one season or two, like and they just stop if it's not getting any attention. So I would like the six people who listen to this to also go watch it so that they can get numbers up. I want I like I I want a second season so bad. It's so fun.
[01:44:11] - [Gerry]
Yeah. I thought
[01:44:12] - [Beth]
And it's only 10 episodes. So
[01:44:14] - [Aaron]
I thought I read on Netflix recently that they said season two is coming unless I'm thinking of a different show.
[01:44:22] - [Beth]
I hope so.
[01:44:23] - [Aaron]
But we're all we're Cheyenne and I are also watch holy shit. Cheyenne and I are also watching it and we give it the stamp of approval to it, it's good as fuck. The character that Will Corte play, he's such he's so good at playing such a fucking, like, air headed dumbass and he plays such a good
[01:44:40] - [Beth]
Is he is he the uncle?
[01:44:41] - [Aaron]
Yeah, he's the uncle, the ghost uncle. It's so weird.
[01:44:45] - [Beth]
I like it. And the kids are struggling.
[01:44:47] - [Gerry]
Bojack Horseman.
[01:44:49] - [Aaron]
No, I need to, man. I put that off for a really long time. I keep putting it off Oh, for other
[01:44:53] - [Gerry]
god, that show's amazing. That show's amazing. That show's deeper than you've seen.
[01:44:58] - [Aaron]
Oh yeah, that's what I've heard.
[01:45:00] - [Gerry]
Like, I have teared up multiple times with that show, and felt a lot of crazy emotions watching it.
[01:45:09] - [Beth]
Just, just, and the do you okay? Do you do either of you watch Santa Clarita diet
[01:45:18] - [Aaron]
before you even finish that. Yeah, we did.
[01:45:21] - [Beth]
Okay. And so I'm pretty sure the kid in that, like the the neighbor, his name is like the the actors is like Skyler something. He also was Max in the quarry. So, yeah, he do you like, the the the the opening, you know,
[01:45:43] - [Aaron]
the boyfriend? He is
[01:45:45] - [Gerry]
Oh, righteous gemstones.
[01:45:46] - [Aaron]
He's Gideon and righteous gemstones. Yeah.
[01:45:48] - [Beth]
Okay. He's the voice actor for the sun.
[01:45:52] - [Aaron]
Oh, he's great. I like it.
[01:45:53] - [Beth]
And he's so funny. He's really good. It's a very
[01:45:57] - [Speaker 2]
fun I
[01:45:58] - [Gerry]
missed the righteous gemstones. Dude. That was like one of my I I swear to God, that might be one of my all time faves.
[01:46:05] - [Aaron]
Fucking, I I've come to realize
[01:46:08] - [Gerry]
Everything that Danny McBride does is fucking hilarious.
[01:46:10] - [Aaron]
That and, like, I've I've become such a big fan of Walton Goggins now, between him on Righteous my and God.
[01:46:16] - [Gerry]
Like Put Walton Goggins in fucking anything and I'll watch it.
[01:46:19] - [Aaron]
Dude, I've I've been watching The Shield and he's in that. He plays Shane in the shield. He's in
[01:46:24] - [Gerry]
the shield? Yeah. He plays such
[01:46:27] - [Aaron]
piece of shit, but it's like, goddamn it. He's so good.
[01:46:30] - [Beth]
Everyone in the shield is a And
[01:46:32] - [Speaker 2]
then fucking
[01:46:32] - [Aaron]
That's the vice principals. He plays another piece of shit, fucking righteous gemstones. He also plays a piece of shit, he's the most hilarious piece of shit. Fucking baby uncle baby Billy.
[01:46:42] - [Gerry]
Oh, my God. Baby Billy's baba.
[01:46:44] - [Aaron]
Just need a million dollars and an eight ball. I ain't asking for much. Goddamn I missed that show.
[01:46:53] - [Gerry]
Holy fuck. I I my face hurt when, like, he said that and that because that was, like, in the last season too. Like, that's another thing too. Like, that show kept getting funnier. It never It never let up a little bit.
[01:47:11] - [Gerry]
There was never a filler episode. It was just this the whole time.
[01:47:16] - [Aaron]
It's so good.
[01:47:17] - [Gerry]
God, that was so good. Come on, Danny McBride. Just give us something else. Just keep making shows.
[01:47:21] - [Aaron]
What's what have I what was I gonna suggest? Oh, Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey. I I was just looking through games that I've played that I haven't, like, come back to for a while, and that is a big one because I love a good dungeon crawl. And Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey is a fucking mouthful of a name, but it's it's a first person dungeon crawl, but it's got the typical Shin Megami Tensei, like, demon recruitment and fusion and shit. So you'll you'll be cruising, moseying on down through a dungeon
[01:47:59] - [Speaker 2]
Cruising.
[01:48:00] - [Aaron]
Grooving. And then you come across the demon and, you know, you talk to him, you're like, hey, motherfucker. Join my fucking party or I'll fucking kill you. Then then the demon's like, alright, fine, cool. Then you fuse him with another demon and you erase his existence and then you make another more powerful demon with his skills and shit and it's great.
[01:48:19] - [Aaron]
It's like like dark adult Pokemon and it's great. And then your your main character, you can upgrade him with new skills and abilities by equipping different suits of armor or demonicas, I think they're called because the whole game takes place in this, like, expanding dark hole in the center of Antarctica that's, like, slowly consuming the earth. And so, yeah, you're you're this, like, special forces team that's been deployed there, but you get transported to another dimension or some shit. I don't know. It's just it's a good dungeon crawler with great combat, a fucking super addictive demon recruiting and demon fusion, and the music is fucking sick.
[01:49:02] - [Aaron]
Go play that game. Music is fucking tight. I don't
[01:49:07] - [Gerry]
mean to open up a can of worms here, but have you guys
[01:49:09] - [Aaron]
heard of this clover pit game? Clover pit?
