Download MP3[00:00:00] Hell yeah, honey butter rules. I'm with you, Craig. Thank you. But in chip form, it's a little bit odd. Because... It's like Lay's with a honey bit on it, but it's also got like popcorn butter from Orville Redenbacher or some shit on it. Okay. Interesting.
[00:00:27] Mr. Orville Redenbacher himself is like sneezing on the chips. He's like, yeah, you got butter on there. Yes, sneezing. That's what I would have said. But yeah, it's... Did you mean jizzing? I did. Yeah, I meant, I meant, yeah, sorry, dick sneeze. That's what I meant. I don't like that one. No! It is a dick sneeze. Dale, Dale, Dale, Dale!
[00:00:55] Welcome to the first episode, everybody. Dick sneeze is for everybody. Look under your chairs. Dick sneeze for president. Might be better. No, sorry. For Democratic House, dick sneeze.
[00:01:27] Damn it! Former dick sneeze! Former senator, holy shit, former senator of Wisconsin, dick sneeze. Richard sneeze. Richard sneeze! Richard sneeze! Yeah, yeah. Please tell me, Richard sneeze! Oh, I gotta look it up. Yeah. Richard sneeze. Dude, he and Dick Sword would be the best of friends. Be like Robin Big, but it's like dick. Uh...
[00:01:56] I can't find Richard sneeze, but I found Richard Massingham. That's not a nothing. That's nothing. Massingham. Come on, get cooler with these last names. I know. Dick sneeze is the best. He's been known to just ejaculate. Oh, you got so loud. Yeah, he made sure. Oh, was that loud? Oh, yeah. I've changed nothing. It was like suddenly you were eating your mic.
[00:02:25] Oh, I didn't even... Oh, maybe it's because I'm... All I did was move my window. Did that affect the sound when I moved my window? Yeah, it sounds way better. It sounded much clearer. And now? It's fine. It's worse? I don't know. It's worse. Don't... It sounds good. I think it sounds good. I don't know. I don't know. Don't touch that window. Why did you say worse? I don't know, okay? I don't know. I don't know. Because I was literally dragging... I was dragging the window when I said snagaculate.
[00:02:55] What the fuck do you mean dragging? Are you physically moving this window? Yeah. Or are you just like opening it? Aaron, he doesn't mean a physical window. Wait, wait, wait. He was like, wait, wait, wait, wait. So yeah, I was moving the window from one monitor to another. So I wasn't confident like this. Oh! Aaron, I'm with you. I thought he meant... Yeah, I gotta just drag my window open. That's what I thought. Like a pocket like The Sims or some shit. You just let me drag it. You right click and drag over here. He's just renovating his house. No, no, no.
[00:03:25] I live in a high-tech house. So I control everything from my PC. And just drag the window to open. Like the Disney Channel original movie Smart House starring... Exactly. Uh, uh, uh, what's her name? The voice actor for Leela from Futurama. Um, it's not Kathy Griffin. Katie Segal. Yeah, Katie Segal. Katie Griffin? Did you say Katie Griffin? No, I meant Kathy, but that's not... Anyway, yes, it's exactly like that. Thank you. Okay, cool.
[00:03:54] I don't know. I guess this is the first official episode, I guess, of Super Ghost. Not the first episode of Super Ghost Radio or the first episode of Super Pod Saga, but it's the first episode of this. Yeah. First official episode with the name change. We're gonna change the... All the shit. Super Ghost. This is the first one. Yeah. This is cool. I like this. I like this. I like the space. I like the studio that we're in.
[00:04:23] Yeah, I dragged this window like over here to over here. I hope it looks good. More natural light. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I thought Jerry dabbed during the... When you sneeze, I thought you dabbed. I put my face almost level on my desk because I was laughing so hard. Yeah, it looks like you were dabbing. Yeah. Speaking about making yourself level, I, the other night, got so confused.
[00:04:52] I went to go to bed and I was like, man, where the fuck is Karen? Is she like sleeping in a different room? Like, did I do... Am I in trouble or something? Like what's going on? Couldn't find her. She was in the bed. She was just so fucking flat on the bed that she just like looked like she was part of the bed. It's always sunny. It was like 1.30 in the morning. I'm like dying laughing. It was after we were hanging out on Switch the other night. Oh, shit. I just like went up and I was like cackling at 1.30 in the morning because I was like...
[00:05:22] I thought she was part of the fucking bed. She's a starfish now. Here she go. Karen is now part starfish. Yeah. Um, I guess Aaron, should we, Aaron and gang, should we introduce the new format? Yeah. Yeah. So the format is, we're not going to go over this every single episode obviously, but because... It's just this one. It's just this one. Just hear us out. Just hear us out. It's fine.
[00:05:50] Um, I think we're going to continue doing the format that was working for Superpod and also Super Ghost Radio. So, uh, here in a second, we're going to get into some super important breaking news. And then we're just going to, we're going to riff about what we're playing, what we want to play, what we've been up to, what we want to watch, what we watch and listening to. Man, we've been, I've been listening to some crazy shit lately. Me too. Um, I, uh, I'm sure we've all heard of it.
[00:06:20] Yes. Um, and then we will talk a bit about some random recommended games, of course. Uh, and then we'll, uh, we'll peace out and see you later on the next one. That's pretty much it. Easy peasy. Easy peasy. Yeah. So it's the wildest shit. I'm going to, I'm going to preface this whole thing by saying, I don't understand like part of it.
[00:06:50] So, uh, way forward is doing a re-release of the Sabrina, the animated series game. One of the, one of the companies that's helping way forward, bring it back. Uh, mod retro. I think mod retro is who's making like the, it's like, it's a whole physical thing. There's a box, uh, physical cartridge for the game for game boy and shit. Um, and mod retro is owned by this dude named lucky Palmer or Palmer lucky or some shit.
[00:07:15] And he's a, he's said on like talk shows or a podcast or something. He straight up said, I'm a radical Zionist. And I don't know what any of that means. I don't want to get into any of that really, but basically way, way forward was like, like shit. Uh, they, they put out this post on blue sky. They were like, Hey, we don't have anything to do with mod retro anymore. Uh, we're not making money off of this game. We've cut all ties with mod retro and lucky Palmer and all that stuff.
[00:07:42] And, um, then they, for some reason, they, they deleted that post and then backpedaled, um, on another post. Basically they, they made that post deleted that and they made another apology post. So lucky Palmer is the founder of Oculus VR and designer of the rift. Yep. Yep. And he sold it to Facebook for like a billion dollars or something. And he's the head of mod retro or like, he's part of it or something.
[00:08:12] And yeah, he, he went off on a whole thing about Israel and all that stuff that's happening. Uh, and yeah, we're not going to talk about that. Cause yeah, it's, um, crazy shit, crazy thing to be wrapped up in Sabrina, the teenage witch. The animated series. Series. What? I know. That's so wild. I know. It's so, it's so insane. Cause it's like, that's the game.
[00:08:42] And then this is the, like the headline that's attached to it now. And you're just like, what the fuck? And it's a, it's a fan favorite game too. Like a lot of people who had game boys are like, I love Sabrina, the animated series, the game, whatever the fuck it's subtitle is. And then this dude is like, haha Israel. And then. Yeah. Just a whole, whole shit show. Yeah. It sucks. What's happening. But, uh, yeah, that's the news. Um, lucky Palmer. I got crazy. I got some shit too. Um, I don't.
[00:09:12] What'd you say, Greg? I was saying that I'm just going to lead us into, uh, our other new format, which is, uh, super current event talk. Jerry, your thoughts on the stages of the Middle East. Yeah. Yeah. What are your like deeply informed nuance opinions? Now when we were, we were playing peak of their day and you had a quite a few things to say about Israel. Oh shit. You're like, he's falling. He's just falling. Oh shit.
[00:09:42] This is the first and last episode of super. We just get canceled immediately. Oh man. Peak is so good. Yeah, it is very good. We'll get, we'll get to that. Uh, I did have one thing that I wanted to say and no, Greg, it was not what my opinion on, uh, the current state of Israel or whatever. War in Israel is. Uh, stay tuned. Yeah. Yeah. But, uh, probably just as bad.
[00:10:11] Uh, retro gaming YouTuber is facing criminal charges and possible jail time for reviewing handheld consoles. Aaron, you know that and burn it that you have that you've been so, so happy to promote and share that you use on a very regular basis that Aaron, Aaron is the one using this thing on a very regular basis. He is the one that bought and purchased the and burn it. No, I'm just kidding. I'm not, I'm not trying to die. He does live in Iowa and he got him arrested. He's very smart.
[00:10:43] He's got a new cohost. Now let's lock him the fuck up. Yeah. I was like, whoa. Let's get him in prison. Uh, so anyways. You've been here for like two minutes. All jokes aside though, this is fucked. I have, I've heard of the dude that you're talking about. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, Francesco, uh, so Lincini, I think I'm probably butchering his last name, but, uh, his, his, uh, channel is once we're nerd.
[00:11:11] Uh, he had like the fucking special forces come in and confiscate 30 of his consoles that he reviews. Um, and now he could be doing jail time for playing fucking ROMs, but, uh, that's, that is too bad about, um, about this, this guy and getting in trouble with the law because of this stuff. Cause I mean, we've talked about it before that we very much support preservation.
[00:11:38] We don't, we don't condone or support piracy, but, uh, I mean, it's fucking, we never promote it. That's apparently like there's some old Italian law that he broke that was written in 1941 or some shit. And, uh, yeah, that's, that's why they swooped in and, and swatted his ass. Rappelled into his house. Give me all your ROMs. Wow. Is that, is that advanced war is not on original hardware?
[00:12:08] Pow, pow, pow, pow, pow. They unloaded full clope into his, or full clip into his andbernet. Clope? Clope? I was like, is this a clope? They put a cloak on him. And they took a cloak. They just, that's how, that's how the Italian forces just, that's, they're like, I come in here. And they put on a, like a, a fucking quad. They're so, come on here. Get down to the floor. They, they put a, they put a cloak on him. You have broken the crime. Threw him into the, the Dun-Gino. The Dun-Gino.
[00:12:38] Into the Dun-Gino. You are taken by sentence to life in prison. Hey. If it was more than one, it would be a Dun-Genie. See, I speak a lot of Italian. Ooh, Dun-Gen. Dun-Gen. D-U-N-D-J-I-N-N. Like Gold Sun. That'd be cool. That's the Dun-Genie that wishes you, that grants you wishes. Oh. The Dun-Genie. That's some pretty exciting shit. I don't know how this works. Here's the weather with Beth. How's the weather, Beth?
[00:13:04] Coming up in the forecast, we've got a Pokemon Presents on the 22nd that I'm very excited for. Do we? Ooh. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And I'm hoping we're going to get some TCG Pocket stuff. Maybe anyway. I'm into Pokemon now. So that is exciting for me. It's exciting to me. I'm just used to being like, I don't give a shit about this. I'm not taking part in this Pokemon talk. No. Now I'm excited. I know. I'm hoping we're going to see some of the stuff about how they're changing the TCG Pocket
[00:13:32] trading system so that it's not a pain in the ass as much. I fell off of that so quickly. I was so into TCG Pocket. I still do. I still open my packs daily, but there's that. I want to know more about Pokemon Champions. I want to see. Hopefully we get an idea of what that is actually going to be like. More Pokemon Unite stuff would be cool too. Oh my God. That'd be tight. I'm so into Unite again because it's the fourth anniversary now and they're bringing some
[00:14:00] they're updating maps for ranked. So that's exciting. And obviously we're going to probably see a little bit of ZA, but there's like a lot of stuff that are that's going to be fun and they've got a lot of updates. So the 22nd looking forward to that. Greg, did you play Arceus? No. Did you have any interest? Wow. You played Scarlet and Violet though, didn't you? I did. I temporarily had a switch.
[00:14:30] I mean. No, I did not play Arceus. He was a disposable switch. Did you? Every time I play a game on switch when I'm done, I just throw it in the woods. Like a fucking grenade. Like a fucking millionaire. As soon as he sees credits, he's like. That was a good game. Return to the woods. You just fucking frisbee it in there. I don't know why. I just like imagine just switch growing legs and running off into the woods. Oh no. Yeah. One leg's red. One leg's blue. Like Joy-Cons.
[00:15:00] Like diddly diddly diddly diddly diddly. By the way, Jerry, did you check out that thread I made of like weird Digimon designs? Because holy shit, Digimon has some shit. It's so fucking crazy. No, I didn't. But we've had discussions on both shows before that Digimon has some insane designs. Oh yeah. Yeah. Like guns, like full-blown guns for hands.
[00:15:28] Game Freak and Nintendo shouldn't be as pissed off about Pal World. It should be the people that made Digimon because they look more like Digimon than they do Pokemon. Kind of like with the guns, I guess. Like I understand what you're saying for some of them. Why are they still? Why is it? Some of them are like. You need to see more Digimon if that's what you think. Here you go, Greg.
[00:15:58] What's happening in your world? It's too good a runner. What's happening in my world? Oh. All I'm going to say is that. Let's just say I've gotten really into horse racing. Oh boy. All right. Let's get into it. Yeah. So right away, I detect a lot of disdain. But no. No. Come on. I'm just saying. Like I didn't. I don't even know what this game is like. Explain.
[00:16:26] You and Eric both downloaded this game, didn't you? I've never played. I got close. But let me tell you. So I'm playing Uma Musume Pretty Derby, which is based on the Uma Musume Pretty Derby anime, which I found it existed. But it's a pretty derby. Like. Is it pretty lady? Is it pretty waifus running on all fours down a track? Do you see a robot bunny? No, no, no. That would be if it was dog racing. This is horse racing.
[00:16:54] So they're on their twos. But horses also. Yeah. Sorry. What? I think you were. Horses don't. Horses don't chase the bunny. That's dog chasing the bunny. Yeah. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. I was also with Aaron. Come on, guys. Give it the program. Sorry, Greg. Please continue. Sorry. Yeah. And so. Yeah. It's a. It's a gotcha game that's apparently been out for like four years in Japan and has now come here. And. Yeah. It's. It's. It's pretty. I'll just say it.
[00:17:24] Game is fun as hell. So like you. The way it works is you. You open your your packs or your scouts or you scout your your your your ladies, your horse ladies. Yeah. And then you start a career with them. The career lasts like three in game years. And all the while you're like train them to boost up certain stats. And then.
[00:17:49] You just race them and you don't have direct control over the race, the races, but it's based on the skills you've chosen and the stats you've you've raised, how they'll perform. And I tell you, you watch these races and you get at least me. I get into it towards the end. I'm like, I'm like, come on, come on, you fucker. Come on. I might try this. This sounds really entertaining. Also, if they want to get fed later, if they don't perform well throughout the three years need to put them down behind the shed. Yeah, they go to the glue factory. OK.
[00:18:20] If you have goals and if don't if you don't complete your goals, then it's just like, oh, the career is over is what it says. So in not so many words, it's to the glue factory, to the grinder with you, waifu. Yeah. Wild. Yeah. You send your waifu to Oscar Mayer. But dogs. But no, it's it's been so much fun.
[00:18:49] And so right now I'm doing a career with Biwa Hayahide. Look her up. She's she's got glasses. She's the smart horse girl. And she's a medium to long distance runner. And it's it's it's this is a tough one. It's a tough one. OK. I just finished one career with what was her name? Her name was I don't think it was. Let me see here. It was Taishi Shuttle was her name. It was what?
[00:19:18] Taiki shuttle. Taiki shuttle. Her name is Taiki shuttle. Yeah, she is. She wears glasses. And I completed that career with Taiki shuttle. She was a champion sprinter. Excelled in the sprint in the mile. What's crazy, though, is all these names. They're names of actual horses. So when you Google the names to find your waifu, you will almost always first get a picture of a horse.
[00:19:50] Is there Seabiscuit? Maybe Seabiscuit is on its way. Well, I'm not surprised that you've taken to this, given your love for gambling and minigames. No, you're yeah, you're you're you have so much love for horses, Greg. I've always heard you talk so much about horses.
[00:20:13] No, I was thinking like a marriage between his obsession with the Yakuza cabaret minigame. That's so good. And it's you know what? It does. It does kind of share a lot in common with the Seabiscuit. Oh, well, see what is that? Seabiscuit in Japanese. Seabiscuit. Maybe comes later. But it actually when you say that it actually does share a lot of DNA with the cabaret minigame from Yakuza.
[00:20:43] Yeah, I was being sincere. Seriously, it feels a lot like that. And so, yeah, I got way into it. God, yeah, I am way into it. Yeah. That's why I said it. I was being sincere. Your love of gambling plus the Yakuza cabaret thing. Like, like, I'm not surprised you're so into this. Yep. And so I want to get a few more horse waifus under my belt. I'm not going to spend a single cent on this game. But good. Good. Good. Good for you.
[00:21:12] But listeners, I'll update you. I'm after a three star air groove, a three star rice shower. And if I'm lucky, lucky, a three star Narita Brian. You know, as hard as I've laughed at this game, I kind of do want to give it a shot because like, I knew you know what? Full recommend. Sweet. This is Greg's random recommended game. Oh, no.
[00:21:37] It takes a bit to kind of like understand how it works because it spends so much time teaching you how to play the game and nothing at all at the same time. But once you get it, it's like. And you've got like a master here, you know, you got you got. No, I am. But a learner. Oh, Greg. Greg's and by. But I was going to say compared to the horse's car and just getting into it. Right. You. I might. I mean, I spent a lot of time on pocket card jockey, which is just horse racing plus solitaire.
[00:22:07] And that was really fun. So gotcha. Horse racing waifu game sounds like a game I could accidentally spend two hours on. And honestly, like there's something truly hilarious about seeing anime girls running on a horse track. And it being called like a like a horse race. It's just to grab this and see what it's all about. It's actually waifu's like sprinting down a down like an oval track or whatever. Yeah.
[00:22:36] Oh, have you not seen footage of a race? No, it's hilarious. Yeah, I've seen I've actually been getting ads for it on Reddit. I think I think since in the past, like 24 hours. Oh, really? So, yeah, I think they're making a push. The game is popping off. Yeah. And I have another friend was like and she was like, oh, you should watch the anime.
[00:23:06] And I was like, no, I don't think I shall. But what if you did? I wouldn't. You know how with anime. I'll watch one series every 10 years. I really like it. And then nothing ever. You know what? That's that's something else, too. I wanted to bring up is we're we're trucking along with Jojo's. You and I. Oh, where are you? Greg, can you what? What arc are we on? We are part four.
[00:23:36] Oh, part four. Diamond is unbreakable. It's the person. Yes. So good. Is that your favorite one? My favorite is Golden Wind. But it's the next one. Diamond is unbreakable. It's like my second favorite. I think like I I really like part four is my favorite. So I'm having that. You would love this part.
[00:24:10] Yeah. So I was going to say, Beth. No, I wanted I wanted to remind you that in Donkey Kong Bonanza, you can, in fact, play as Pauline on Donkey Kong shoulder. And you don't have to own the game. I can do a game share with you. Stop. No. Do you not like Donkey Kong? No. Actually, I've never had any interest in Donkey Kong. Man. Fucking hot.
[00:24:35] Not even like Donkey Kong Country or the awesome, amazing cartoon from the early 2000s. Oh, that was bad. That was bad. I know. I'm just joking. I'm going to sit here and defend that. Was that exclusive to YTV or Teletoon? We're on Teletoon here. Yeah. That's a Canadian show. Really? That was a Canadian made show. Yeah. And it's really, really bad. Yeah. It's really bad. Yeah. But what's not really bad is Donkey Kong Bonanza.
[00:25:02] That's what I've been hooked on lately after putting in, I don't know. Aaron, how many hours do you have in Mario Kart World now? Uh, I can look on my profile. I'm pretty sure I got like 30. I think I have like 36 hours. Yeah. Mine's like 30 or 40 or like 45. Yeah. And I'm not even like, I don't have all of the mirror stuff like finished. I unlocked mirror mode.
[00:25:26] So I got first place in all the CCs for the Grand Prix and the knockout tour. Now I'm doing the mirror mode. But I've been seeing people saying that Donkey Kong Bonanza should have been the launch game. And I kind of, I kind of agree with that. I mean, it was one month later. Yeah. It's like the launch window is like what? Six months they call it. Like generally.
[00:25:52] Cause this, if, if people had reservations about getting a Switch 2, if, if you were a Switch 2, like if you like Nintendo and you generally buy Nintendo consoles, but you were like, I don't know if I want to get a Switch 2 yet. I don't really see the, the appeal. So if, if a, if a game like Mario Odyssey is what you've been waiting for, this is the one. Like it's, it took a little bit to grow on me. I was, I didn't immediately love the game.
[00:26:20] I really liked the game at first, but it took a, took a minute for me to, to really latch onto what they were trying to do. But it's, uh, it's ape shit. The game is like quite literally ape shit. Like you were just constantly making Donkey Kong lose. It's literally ape shit. So Donkey Kong is just fucking. Taking dumps everywhere. Dropping logs all over the place. Throwing his shit all over the place. Yeah. Yeah. Those aren't bananas, Jerry.
[00:26:51] Too ape shit to quit. Yeah. I'm too ape shit to quit now at this point. Nice. Nice. Nice. Nice. It's really, it's really fun. I didn't really, I don't know. Like I, I had a hard time like figuring out like what the game wanted from me. Like, cause it took me a minute to realize that like each, so essentially what you're doing is you're going through these layers cause you're going into the center of this planet. But each layer is like basically a world.
[00:27:20] So like world one, they call it sub layer 100. And then like each layer in that world is sub layer like 101, 102. And those are essentially your worlds. And they're, it's, it would be no different than being in like a hub world in like Mario and going into like a level and then doing everything in that level and then going to another one.
[00:27:47] So the thing that I was finding was that there was so many bananas everywhere, like fucking just heaps of potassium just leaking out of every level. And like, I'm sorry. Did that, was that gross? Did that? No. No, you're good. It's not as, it's not as gross as dick sneezes. No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Obviously. I just want to declare it. I just want to make sure. I wanted to make sure that dick sneezes is still the number one grossest thing that we've said on the podcast.
[00:28:16] No, we'll, we'll, we'll top that eventually. We'll get there. Talking about potassium, not sneeman. Sneeman. What's, um, what's the point of a level in, uh, in Donkey Kong? Cause like Mario, you go and collect stars or like, what do you have to do? So that's the thing. That's the thing that was kind of throwing me through a loop. It was that I didn't like, I was like, am I supposed to be collecting? Is this like a Mario thing where it's like, there's a, like a decent amount of like
[00:28:44] stars or moons, like in Mario Odyssey that you just like, you go and you collect them. Or like, if you think back on like classic 3d platformers, like super Mario 64, when you go into a level, there's like a set amount of stars and each one of them is like a certain theme or activity or some kind of a mission that you need to do in that level to get that star. Donkey Kong bonanza is not really like that.
[00:29:11] It's just like, here's your level and you go through it in a way. It's kind of like classic Donkey Kong games. Like you're just in world one and you are just going through that world. And instead of it being individual levels, it's just the, this big world that you're working your way through. And it's, it's very clear. Like this is where you have to go to progress through this level, but then you just get
[00:29:37] sidetracked because you're finding fossils, which then allow you to buy upgrades because Donkey Kong can wear all kinds of different suits. Dude. He has different pants. He has different ties and they all have, yeah, they all have different stats. So like one time. Yeah. It'll increase. I'm serious. I'm serious. Donkey Kong bonanza stats. It has stats and it has a skill tree.
[00:30:05] And you get fucking power ups that let you get to air. Like there is a sort of a Metroidvania like DNA to this, not in the sense of like, you have to get this thing to progress and you've got to backtrack to get to like, but maybe there is, I don't know. I, but I just unlocked. So the first one that you get is just called the, the, like the bonanza DK bonanza.
[00:30:30] And that turns you into like super Saiyan DK and you, and he, dude, he, he is so overpowered. And when he punches, he does, he sounds like he's going like, Oh my God. That's so sick. It's wild. And, um, the, I got the second one this morning. It's an ostrich. So he turns into a giant jacked fucking ostrich and it allows you to like jump and then hover. So you can get to areas that you couldn't get to before.
[00:31:00] So now, now that I'm getting further into it, I see that it's like, yeah, each one of these, these main layers are a world. And within that world, you just progress through as it, as if it's a level, the thing that's really, really interesting and has definitely caught my attention is each one of these worlds has like essentially like shrines in breath of the wild where you go into them, not dissimilar
[00:31:29] from the classic Donkey Kong country games where you would find like a barrel and go to like a bonus level. Yeah. Kind of the same thing. You find like a thing, it transports you to a different, like it screen goes black and then it comes up and says like, destroy five baddies. And like, then you just got to go fucking beat the shit out of a bunch of things in like a certain time limit. Some of them though are like, I did one last night that was a full blown Donkey Kong country 2D level. Fuck yeah.
[00:31:59] That's good. Yeah. I'm glad they included that kind of shit. So those challenge things, some of them are super easy. Some of them are really fucking difficult. And again, you get every five bananas that you get, you get a skill point. So you're just constantly looking for bananas and getting sidetracked and beating the shit out of stuff. And like the more that I play it, the more I realize how genius the level design actually is. So you get it now is what you're saying. God damn. Yeah, I got it.
[00:32:29] I got it now. I got it now. But I'm not going to lie. It took as somebody that is a Donkey Kong fan, it took me a minute to really love this game because I was, I think I was expecting it to be something different, but it was funny actually, Greg, when we were playing peak the other day, you were asking me just some simple questions like how you're like, well, how's that any different from this? How is it any different from this? And I was like, oh yeah, I guess you're, I guess you're right. I challenge you, Jerry. That's my lot. I challenge you. He loads up his dual disc.
[00:32:58] Jerry, how is Donkey Kong Bonanza? Do do do do do do do. What reference is this to? Yu-Gi-Oh. It's a Yu-Gi-Oh, Jerry. Yeah. Yu-Gi-Oh. What reference is this? Seriously? Seriously? I still have, I still have not gotten on board the Yu-Gi-Oh. I got, look, you got me with Pokemon, okay? I don't think I'm going to get on the Yu-Gi-Oh train. Yu-Gi-Oh is a tough sell.
[00:33:27] I just don't see it. It's a very tough sell. I don't see it happening. Now, let me tell you about horses, though. Maybe not cards, but horses are cool. Horses are cool. There's Clydesdale. There's a camel, kind of. A camel could be a horse. They could dress alike one. A camel can be a horse. It's got four legs and you can ride on it. Therefore, horse. Therefore, horse. Now imagine that a horse was a girl. Wow! Hot. Hot.
[00:33:57] So you can ride your horse girl? No, no. You're just the trainer. You're just the trainer. Whoa, damn. So you're grooming your horse girls. Jerry, no! No, I'm the trainer, not the groomer. They're going to get us fucking shot in public. Stop. Jerry, these are high school horses. Go on about your horses. I already said my piece on horses. Yeah, and Jerry, you're done with Donkey Kong? You know what? I commend you. You let Greg talk. You didn't interrupt him.
[00:34:27] Well, you didn't interrupt me. It's a changing day. It is new. New show, new Jerry. Yeah, it's new us. Yeah, I was able to complete a full thought without Jerry derailing me and talking about a new topic. I wouldn't get too used to it. No, I'm not. Don't worry. And he let you talk first. I know. And then gave me more opportunity to talk about the thing that I was finished talking about. This is the new Jerry.
[00:34:57] It's a new day. This is amazing. He's reborn. He is. I'm fantastic. Speaking of reborn. Do some rebirth stuff. Talk about rebirth. No. Talk about whatever you want. No, let her talk about it. I don't know. She really likes Final Fantasy Rebirth.
[00:35:27] Let her talk. Don't fucking get me started. We don't have the time. We really don't have the time. Don't you fucking dare. Don't you put those words in my mouth. Do not do that to me. No, we're not. You just. So, by the way, I want to point this out. Beth is the master of accents. No. Yes. I didn't. When. I didn't vote for it. Hit me with a southern accent, Beth. Go.
[00:35:56] I can't on the. They did. Not on the. No, no. It has to be while we're playing a game. Y'all can't do no dang southern accent. Oh, sure. She can do it. She can do it. She looks. Yeah. Like, we know. We play. We've played a lot of games that require a lot of. Well, they don't require a lot of narration, but like we play through Danganronpa. Yeah. Together. And sometimes we would take turns like reading the words on the screen. Oh. Beth would go into her master of accents.
[00:36:27] That's cool. And just fluidly go from like southern to British. From British to Australian. Like. Yeah. My accents, I start. It comes from my soul. It comes from nowhere. And then it just goes. And I don't know where they come. It doesn't. It never makes any sense. So it's. Jerry's using this jokingly. Like he's saying this and it's facetious. It's not. Oh, okay. Yeah. Sorry.
[00:36:57] It's in the title. Don't take us seriously. Yes, Greg. Go on. Go on. Who here. Has climbed a mountain recently. Oh, raise your hand. I fell off. I climbed it and fell off. Who here has fallen off a mountain recently?
[00:37:21] Who here has taken your backpack full of supplies and whipped it off the mountain when you were just trying to whip the trumpet off the mountain? Who has accidentally taken the flare from Greg's cool backpack and then dropped it off the mountain? That was me. We're talking about. You guys are fucking with me. Stop that. No, don't fucking with me. I fucked with this backpack on accident trying to get half a coconut. Yeah. So we're talking about peak.
[00:37:50] Greg, I'm glad that you brought peak up and I'm glad that we're playing peak together. I think Beth might really go to peak with us eventually. But, you know, I roped her into buying as a side story before we start talking about peak. I messaged Beth one day and I'm like, hey, buy Rogue Heroes on Switch. Oh, yeah. We still got to play that. You and I am. Yes. Yes. You and I, Aaron, should play this game. It's really, really fun. Aaron and I played the first two dungeons.
[00:38:20] I played the. We didn't beat the first dungeon, did we, Beth? No. No. But we played it. We did, like, I think a run or two. Yeah. And, you know, you were like, yeah, this is pretty fun. And we just kind of didn't really get back to it. No. And since then, I was like, I just woke up one morning and was like, oh, you know who's going to love peak? Beth is going to love peak. So I just, like, sent Beth a message that just says, buy peak. You just send her a link to the Steam store to peak?
[00:38:49] Not even, like, to request, just like, you must buy this now. I didn't mean for it to come off as aggressive or request money from her on Venmo or something. But it just was like, he must have sent it, like, first thing when he woke up. Because it was like, I woke up. And it was like, I, it was just by peak was, like, the only thing. And I just was like, no. Because, like, two days earlier, he was like, buy Rogue Heroes. And I did. And then we played for, like, 20 minutes.
[00:39:17] He was like, buy Rogue Heroes. And then was like, oh, me and Aaron are playing. It's so good. We're having the best time. You're going to love it. We're going to play together. It's going to be great. And then, like, we played for 15, 20 minutes. Did, like, one or two runs. And then didn't play it again. And then, like, three days later, Jerry was like, buy Peak. Me and Aaron are playing it. And I'm like, no. And now me, Aaron, and Greg are playing it. In Jerry's defense, Rogue Heroes is, like, fucking $4.
[00:39:47] That's this many dollars, Beth. Yeah, I know. I bought it. It's only $4. Like, you basically got it for free. That's not how free works. It's close to free. It's closer to free than Peak is. It's close to free. How much is that game? It's really close to free. This many dollars. It's $12. But, like, that's pretty close to being free. That's pretty close. You know, I can't jump every time Jerry says buy something. We're not all as.
[00:40:17] What if Greg says it? Tell us your birthday. I'll buy it for you. Just so you can play with us. I would say if you don't have to tell us, I'll just buy it for you. I would say if Greg was enthusiastic about playing a multiplayer game together, I think you guys should all buy it because it never happens. Yeah, that's a different story. Like, Jerry is, like, excited about every game that's ever existed that you can play as a girl. I get it. I get it. And that's amazing. That's amazing quality. Like, it's not a bad thing.
[00:40:44] It's just like, I got to start being a little bit choosy when it comes to when Jerry is like, play this, buy this, you know? Yeah. To Greg's point, when Greg wants to play, like, gets into a game that's multiplayer, it's more rare. Jerry gets excited about every game. Greg gets excited about no game. Yeah. Zero games. Just Peek and Horse Girls. Well, when I would say just Horse Girls, Peek is just a game that I started to play.
[00:41:15] Greg is peaking on those Horse Girls. You know what I'm saying? I can't stress enough, though. These are high school horse. High schoolers. They're high school horses, Jerry. Before we talk about Peek, can I talk about a game that I just beat so I can get off my chest? Absolutely. Yeah. Sweet. What'd you beat? I just beat Severed. It's a game made by Drinkbox Studios, who also does Guacamelee and a bunch of other games. Oh, yeah. Wasn't that originally on the Vita?
[00:41:43] Yeah, with the slashing and stuff, right? Yeah, and 3DS, iOS, Switch. What did you beat it on? 3DS. I got it for free, I think, because it was one of those things where like... We're all free. So it was $4. No, it was actually free. Thank you very much. On the My Nintendo thing, way, way back in the day. In the good old days of my Nintendo, you could spend your gold points on cool shit, like themes, or different Nintendo-themed Picross games.
[00:42:14] Severed. You could buy other games for free with gold points. You can't now, because Nintendo fucking hates us. But yeah, so I spent my gold points on Severed, again free. And I was going through my 3DS because I was going to play through the Metroid 2 remake. And I was like, oh, fuck, I've got Severed on here. And I started that. And I was like, nope, Metroid can fuck off. It's Severed time now, baby.
[00:42:39] And it's basically like this first-person dungeon crawler in this demon nightmare world. You play as this girl who has one arm. The one-arm part doesn't matter until later when you get your arm back and you unlock a rage mechanic once you attach it to yourself. But yeah, you use touchscreen to slash around at enemies, and they have different weak spots. You'll have to recognize their attack patterns and wait for them to attack. And you have cool skill trees. There's cool abilities you can unlock. Like you can steal buffs from enemies.
[00:43:09] You can temporarily blind them so they miss or they get stunned or whatever. And the story was like, it was dark, but didn't really, it was emotional and dark, but it might as well have not been on there. They didn't really do a whole lot with it. But you're just rescuing your dead family from demons. And then in the end, you kill a dragon to get him back. And then bam, done. That's Severed. Five hours. Short and sweet. Fantastic. Yeah. And it looks cool. I like a five-hour game.
[00:43:39] Getting that beat. After I beat it, I was like, man, this game was fucking sick. I wonder what other reviewers said about it. And I looked at IGN. They reviewed the PS Vita version and gave it like a six out of ten. Oh, my God. I immediately closed that tab. And I was like, that's wrong. That's wrong. That's incorrect. They're very wrong. That's incorrect. It was awesome, man. It was challenging as fuck toward the end, too. Like enemies, you got to be alert at all times.
[00:44:07] You can't look away at the TV for like a second to watch like The Simpsons or something. You have to be giving it your full attention. You got to be locked in. Waiting for those enemies to attack. You can deflect them by swiping at their attacks. And then you just go, give them one of these. Give them one of these. Please. Wixbox does good games, though. Right? Like, well, there's nobody. I played the first Guacamelee. Yeah, nobody saves the world. I played half of that.
[00:44:35] And then I kind of like dropped off. But it wasn't because it was bad. I just was like, I think I moved on to something else that was just like really grabbed my attention. And I just didn't go back. Cool. Their art styles are always really cool. Like, I need to actually go through and play or go through and beat Guacamelee and Guacamelee 2 because like Luchador met Metroidvanias, dude. That's such a fucking cool combo that you never see. Just suplexing enemies through walls and being like, oh, health upgrade. Yeah. That's cool ship.
[00:45:06] Yeah, that is kind of cool. And yeah, I do like their style. They have like a really strong style. I feel like usually when I see their games, I'm like, oh, that's Drinkbox before I even like their logo doesn't have to come up, which is like very good for.
[00:45:24] I think indie in particular, like smaller studios and stuff to have that like recognizable of a kind of like look is good because there's so many indie games and games in general that it's like you want to have your audience instantly recognize your material so that they'll like, you know, spend their money on it. Are they Canadian? I think so, actually.
[00:45:54] I was on Steam. Toronto. Yeah, there you go. Oh, really? There you go. Toronto, Ontario. Yeah. I was going to say I was just on Steam. I figured I was looking for on Steam, but I was on Steam and I don't have my Steam filtered. And so like the number one new and trending game on my Steam is Milfy Way Space Orgasm. And I laugh so hard to myself. Okay, okay. Oh, please buy that and review it on the show. Milfy Way Space Orgasm. I don't think I shall. Milfy Way.
[00:46:23] Milfy Way Dreams. Crazy. Move over Star Wars. I'm traveling to the Milfy Way. Hey, as a side note, when we were talking about some of the news and stuff, I had time extension open. And there was like a thing there. It's talking about there's a Mega Man figure that Sega is releasing. It's really fucking cool. I think I'm going to buy it. That said, the site that I can buy the Mega Man figure from.
[00:46:53] Dude, I'm looking at a Digimon right now. Like a massive Digimon toy. Which one? That's like $194. It's Digimon Tamer's Gem Series Dukemon. Digimon? Yeah. You guys weren't fucking around with these Digimon. Holy fuck. This thing is insane looking. I think we talked about this when we were playing Mario Kart the other night. Like if you gave Digimon a chance, I think you would really fucking like it.
[00:47:20] Because Pokemon is already pretty complex and in-depth. But Digimon, it fucking goes places. Especially like the Digimon story games. You can min-max the fuck out of your Digimon. Like level up their API. Digivolve them to this. Get their API up again. Digivolve back two stages. Get their API back up again. Yeah. It's some spreadsheet type shit. You lost me as soon as I clicked on a Persona 5 Royal Pop-Up Parade Panther.
[00:47:50] Fuck. Which is on in her cat suit. Might have to buy this too. Real quick though. Speaking of what Jerry and Digimon. I think Jerry should watch the Digimon Tamer season. Yes, that's such a fucking good one. It's so good. Oh really? I think you would. Really now? Okay. Every time I swipe my debit card somewhere, I try to do it like a Digimon Tamer. Just like.
[00:48:21] Or like the sideways one. I love that. I love that so much. But I think. Okay. Okay. So. Now I'm going off of. Something I. Some of this is true. I just don't know all of the details. But. Like. I believe that someone who was involved in creating Digimon Tamers has a history of directing horror anime. Or like.
[00:48:51] He was involved in some aspect of like. Horror production. In Japan. In Japan. So. Certain. Things. With Tamers. Tamers is a lot more mature. I would say. Than any of the other Digimon. Series in general. It has a. Kind of like. It's art style. Too. Is kind of like. A little bit more. Like. I don't know. Like. Less cartoony. Slightly less cartoony. I would say. Um.
[00:49:21] And I. I don't know if it's like the lines. Or whatever. But. In particular. He. The. Way that it is. Then. Um. Some of the scenes are. Like. The. The way that like. The. They're framed. The tone. And everything like that. It's. That's why. I really think Jerry. You would like. Fuck with Tamers. It's Pokemon. If it was berserk. Greg. Do you like Digimon? I don't remember. No. I'm. I've got no feelings. No. On Digimon whatsoever.
[00:49:51] I'm just. I'm just pretty nooch on. On Digimon. What can I say? Nooch. Sorry Jerry. Are you a subbed. Or dubbed person? You don't. It just. Just. This is not a. I think. I might have it. See. It depends. I don't mind a dub. But sometimes. Dubs are dog shit. Well. Because I was going to say that. The translation. For. I would say the translation. For the first three. Like.
[00:50:21] Well Digimon in general. Into English. Very much. Neuters. The. Stakes. Of the. The series. If you watch. Even like. If you watch. Adventure. With the subtitles. It's a lot. More serious. And a lot. Darker. Um. Because I. I think. In Japan. It was intended. For an older teen. Male audience. And when it got. Came over here. They kind of. Tried to make it for. Children.
[00:50:51] Almost exclusively. Fox kids. Yeah. And so. The tone. For the. Like. If you watch. The subs. The tone. For Digimon in general. Is more mature. But. I said. Tamers. Subbed. With like. This. The way that. Like. Going for anyways. With like. The tone. And graphics. Or graphics. The tone. And this. Like. Art style. And direction. Um. Watch it subbed.
[00:51:20] It's really good. Anyway. So that's my. That's my rant. For. Sorry. Frontiers. Frontiers is also good. I like that one. Where they turn into the Digimon. It was good. Shit. Kind of. The story kind of. Wasn't as good. Okay. Fine. Fuck me. Who's next? Who's next? Who's got games? I got games. Who's got games?
[00:51:45] You guys were going to talk about Peak. Uh. Right? Yeah. Peak. Um. Greg. How would you describe. Peak. In a nutshell. Like I'm five. I would say. On five. No. If I. Like if I. Explain it to me like I'm five. Oh. Like you're.
[00:52:14] Like you're five. Oh. Explain it to me like normal. Yeah. Like Joe. Joe Hollywood being like. Peak. Explain to me. On five. And three. Action. And go. You're live Greg. Uh. No. I. The easiest way to. Explain peak. Is. Uh. There's a mountain. And must go up. Solid. Mountain big. That's awesome. Up. And the. That's all. That's. In the most simple explanation. There's a mountain.
[00:52:44] And must go up. Doesn't the mountain also change every like week. Or whatever. Or a couple of weeks. Uh. Every day. Mountain changes every day. Every 24 hours it changes. Greg. You said that it cycles. It's not. I thought it was procedurally generated. But you said that there's like 14 of them. That they cycle through. Right now there's 14 that they cycle through. I'm sure there's gonna be more. Mm. But right now there's 14. Okay. And there's. Um. There's like different biomes for your. For each level too. So yeah. There's. There's five different biomes.
[00:53:13] So like you start on the beach. And then when you get to the top of. Or the shore. When you get to the top of the shore biome. Then you're in. The jungle. You get to the top of the jungle. Then you're in the ice biome. And on. Yeah. So it's like. Um. The way that I would describe it too is. It is a. I guess it's sort of like a. First. It's a first person roguelike. Kind of thing. Cooperative roguelike. I would definitely say. You can play it. By yourself. But it's.
[00:53:42] It's definitely way. Way. Way more fun with friends. Oh my god. Especially with the proximity chat too. That one time. It's got a. It's got a solo mode. But you should. It's made. Solo mode is good if you want to scout out. And stuff like that. It's meant to be played with. The draw is definitely with friends. Yeah. Yeah. That one time. That we saw Greg. Jump to that one part of the mountain. He's like. Oh. I think this is the way to go. And then it rains. And he's like. Fuck. And then he falls a little bit. He slides. And he's like. Okay. Okay. We're good. And then he's like. Let's go.
[00:54:12] Let's do his death. And you just hear him like. Jerry and I laugh for like 30 fucking minutes. What was really funny too. I started. When. When Aaron played his first game with me and Greg. I got in his head. And like Greg. Because Greg was like kind of leading. Because normally like someone will usually take point and lead. Usually it's Greg. Greg does like to lead. Which is fine. Greg usually makes good calls. Greg you. Not always. Not always. Not always. He did say usually.
[00:54:42] As long as he's not reading. Usually makes good calls. And. I got in Aaron's head. Because Greg was like. Okay. I'm going to crawl across this. This vine. You guys. I'll make sure that I can do it with my staff. And he went on. And we're on proximity chat. So I knew that Greg couldn't hear me. So I look at Aaron. I'm like. Hey. He's like. Yeah. I'm like. I think he's going to try to kill one of us. And Aaron was like. What? Why? And I was like. I don't know.
[00:55:11] But I think it's going to be you. I think he's going to try to kill you. I think he's going to like push you off a mountain. Oh my gosh. No. Spoilers. That didn't happen. We were like. We were. So I did. I did end up dying. But we were climbing up one spot. And nobody was looking at me. And I really needed help. And I fell. Like I was climbing. Ran out of stamina. I lunged. And no one was there looking at me. And I was like. Help. Help. And then I fell and died. So sad. Greg was. Greg was reaching his hand out.
[00:55:41] Just. Just barely touching me. Like. Oh. I'm trying so hard. I'm trying. The game. The game is like that. That scene from the Lion King. Help me. Brother. Oh yeah. Greg tried to pick in on me too. That. Yeah. Jerry reverse starred me. I was just. Reverse starred. I was. I helped him up the. Yeah. I helped him up the mountain. And then in the process. He somehow. He got up. And I got suplexed off the mountain.
[00:56:11] Literally just had to ask. If you can like. Long live the king. Each other. You can't really. I mean. You can't really do that. Because as soon as your hands make contact. You kind of do like. Okay. Funny. If you could though. Beth. I really think you would like this game. It's just. It's chill. It's cool. No. I kind of struggle to say it's chill. Because you have to keep moving. Otherwise. Like the fog will rise up. It's like. Yeah. Like how in Fortnite. The fog will roll in. Yeah. You have to keep going up. Otherwise the fog will freeze you to death.
[00:56:41] Yeah. On the normal step beyond chill. Yeah. Yeah. Like. You could still have. A pretty chill time. In a weird way. Yeah. But there are certain situations. Where like. Oh fuck. Oh fuck. Oh fuck. And like. You do get into this thing. Like when you get. To the second or third biome. Or especially the third. Once you get to the third. And you're like. All right. Like we're on. We're on a good run. And I should say too. By the way. If these kinds of games. Where like. You need to beat it in a run.
[00:57:10] Don't appeal to you. I get it. They didn't appeal to me. For a long time either. But. It's. It's one of those. Like you have to beat this game. In a run. But. What I'll say is. As someone who's addicted to getting beats. I've seen credits on this game. Albeit. I've seen the credits on. The easier mode. I didn't do it on like. The standard mode. But even after I get it on standard mode. I still feel like. I'm going to want to go back in. Just to do some runs. To like. Because there's little fun things that you can do.
[00:57:40] Like as an example. Greg told me that. That trombone that you find on the shore. If you take that. God. Yeah. If you take it to the ice biome. There's capybaras there. And you play it for them. And then you get. Like a. A new costume thing. So. It's. It's definitely. Something that's. Going to be drawing me back to play. Especially because it's so funny with friends. Like it's. It's just a. It's a ride. And it was. It was like $10.
[00:58:10] It was so cheap. $10.49. One really cool thing too. Is like. All your characters. Are in like. Boy Scout uniforms. So they have like the little sash. That your badges go on. And every time you get an achievement. You get a little. Like badge on your sash. That does not matter at all. But I think it's really cool. Yeah. It is cool. It's so cute. Yep. It's actually. I was playing with two friends. Who hadn't played before. Why are you crying? I'm not crying. It's so cute though. It's cool. I was playing. I was playing. With two friends. Who hadn't played before last night.
[00:58:40] And like. After the first run. They were like. How many badges do you have? They're all like. You're an Eagle Scout. You're the coolest kid. That's fucking Cubs. That's adorable. He's got so many badges. That's so cool. Look how many badges he has. He's got his knife training. He knows that high of the mountain. He can kill somebody and hang himself. That's so cute. There's nothing too bad. That when you get to the top of an area. You'll sit by a campfire and roast marshmallows together.
[00:59:09] That's also so cute. See? And then you can customize. You unlock. You on. Look in the chat. I bought it. Like calm down. Did you? Yeah. No way. Live. Live. My dad called me. First. First time in a while. Oh. She bought it. I bought it. Hell yeah. That's why I said 1049. You were like. It's like 10 bucks. I was like. Oh. It's 1049. Nice. I just bought it. After this. We climb the mountain.
[00:59:39] I'm taking a nap after this. You can nap once you've climbed the mountain, Beth. Don't you have a dinner? Yeah. But that's not for like another three hours. Three or four hours. I. I love peak. I think if you have some friends that want to play something online and it's not even like it doesn't feel like a big commitment thing. Like we were talking about rivals the other night and I was like, oh yeah, rivals.
[01:00:07] And then I was like, oh, should I play more rivals? And I went. No. Like I like that's the problem with the like hell divers. Greg, you and I fucking played the shit out of hell divers for a hot minute. And that's just I guess that's just my. I like the way that I play things like I don't I'll get into something like that for really like hardcore short burst of time. And then I just fall right off. Same thing with Jerry. If you if you said to me, can we play hell divers?
[01:00:37] I'd be like, brother, it's already installed. And also, let's get it. Marvel rivals. I just like I jump on like two or three times a season, like do a bunch of matches, get a bunch of the like currency for like the the battle pass so I can get like the free costumes that they give. And I mean, you can just jump in and out of it. I don't it's not a commitment. It's the they're five minute matches. They're the opposite of commitment. Yeah. Yeah, I know.
[01:01:06] I like it's just how my that's just my brain just being like, that's a commitment. Whereas peak just feels like at any given time, someone's like, hey, you want to do like a run real quick? You fucking hop on for a run and you might fuck up really, really fast and really early because like it can be very unpredictable. And you like yesterday, as an example, a friend of mine and I got to the very we got inside the volcano.
[01:01:33] We were doing the kiln and like we were set up for victory. We had both of us had an a full extra stamina bar. We had no hunger left. We had like the fucking the statue that brings you back to life. Like we had we had anti rope. We had everything for success. And it just it fell apart in like five minutes. So like it's just like he slipped and I was like, oh, fuck.
[01:02:02] I went to grab him and then I slipped and I had a lot of damage. Then I'm like, well, hang on. Let me just get this anti rope out. And I let that go and it floated up to the top. And it was just like it reminds me of Spelunky. If you've ever played Spelunky, we're like one little thing will cause a chain reaction of bullshit. And then you just kind of sit back and laugh about it because it's so ridiculous that all these dumb things happen all at once. Yeah, I was I was playing with another friend the other day and we had got to the kiln,
[01:02:32] which is like the last area before the peak. It's inside of a volcano and the hazard in the kiln is just that there's no food. And so it's hard to navigate. It's OK. It's it is. But you have to just use your tools. Anyway, we were at the top. We could see the top. But is that the point where like my hunger, my hunger was so high that I literally couldn't make it? Oh, no. So it was just like, go on. Go on without me. You give him a boost. There's nothing for me here.
[01:03:03] And he's like, are you sure? I'm like, there's nothing we can do about it. Oh, man. You're your your hunger is going to build if you don't if you wait here for me. And I leapt into the left. You fools. Remember me like Ripley and like Alien 3. Oh, no. Alien 3. Oh, another another cool thing about this game. The controller. The controller support is awesome. Oh, great.
[01:03:33] Happy to report. The controller support is awesome. It was awesome for me. I liked it. Yeah, I know my buddy Jake is also enjoying the controller on this. But I tried to do controller the other night. And I think it's because I've been playing it on mouse and keyboard. I was like, can't do this. Can't do this at all. I think however you like to play the game of the cop. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think there's there isn't anything wrong with the controller support. It's fine. Yeah. Yeah.
[01:03:59] I just my the way I have my my laptop and my mouse set up, I have to bend my wrist real fucking weird because I'm a I'm a mutant. I'm a horrifying demon person. Yeah. And I have to bend my wrist real real weird and it hurts after a little while. So that's why I use controller. Disclaimer. Makes sense. I was breaking my wrist every time I was playing. I too would not want to do that. Nope. Yep.
[01:04:35] Do we hear what Beth's playing yet? Beth, what are you playing? Do we have time for what I'm playing? No. Of course. I don't make time. Hundred line last defense academy. Oh, yeah. That's right. Yeah. It's so good. I for those who don't know, it's from the creators of Danganronpa and Zero Escape. They left. I think it was Spike Chunsoft and made their own studio.
[01:05:05] And this one is phenomenal. This game is so good. It has. It's like a tower defense game, like the combat aspect. But outside of that, it is your like visual novel mystery game that you would expect from these guys. With eccentric weird ass characters that the first time they start talking, you're like, God, I hate you. I'm never going to like you.
[01:05:30] And then you eventually like, are like, I don't know how I got here, but you're my favorite and I will die for you. So it's phenomenal. And I. I. I don't like if you have any interest in playing it, just go play it. Like, I don't want to find like I really like I think if if it's something you should Aaron buy this right now. No, it's kind of. Oh, shit. Okay.
[01:06:00] Well, I mean, I'm not going to tell you what to do with like your money. It's fun. It's fun to tell Aaron. I love strategy RPGs. So I might fucking need to. And it has like. I thought it was tower defense. It is tower. It's tower defense. Oh. I might still buy it. Maybe. I would say. $60. That's what I said. Like, I'm not going to go and just tell you to buy it. It's $60. He's all excited. Then he's like $60. So I don't know.
[01:06:28] I like it is very good. I was going to say I'm about to say something that's like going to spoil like a big twist or aspect of it. And so if you don't want that, I would like. But now you're going to spoil it for Aaron. Well, you know what? Unfortunately, that's the curse of being on podcasts. You have my blessing. Okay. Proceed. I don't want any. If anyone's interested, just plug your ears. La la la la la. Go to the next timestamp. Yeah. For the next timestamp.
[01:06:57] You play through the. It's 100 lines. So you play through the first 100 days. And when you do that, you get the bad ending. And you have to go back. You start then a tree, like a choice tree unlocks. And you go back. And then you start making different choices. And there's a bunch of different endings. And you have to like learn. That sounds so cool. It's so good. Because it's like it's very zero.
[01:07:26] So that's like the zero escape aspect of this game that I loved. And so there's information that you're getting. Fuck. Aaron, there's a there's a one route that is locked, has locks. And you have to get certain endings to be able to proceed through the like ending that gives you all of the information. Because there is like so many mysteries. And like it's it's so fun.
[01:07:56] You're playing this on Switch 2, right? I'm playing this on Switch 2. Do you play it in handheld mode a lot? Yeah. Well, I've when I first was playing, I was playing a shit ton on the TV. But that my like whole family was gone. Isn't that the beauty though? But the Switch. Yeah. You just be like, oh, you need a TV? Cool. Yeah. It's also like it is the Danganronpa anime. Stuff.
[01:08:26] Bullshit. Anime ass bullshit that like sometimes I'm like that though. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying it's the kind of thing that I don't really necessarily want to always be playing on the public television where anybody can walk by and suddenly. Yeah. Danganronpa had some. Yeah. That's the classic horse girl problem. Yeah. Yeah. It's the horse. Like the story is good. The characters are interesting. Episode title. The horse girl problem. The horse girl problem.
[01:08:56] Like the Monty. Like it's like a Monty Hall problem. Like the horse girl problem. But yeah, it is. It's the horse girl problem. I don't always want people to see that. See your nudity. Well, I like how one of the one of the bullet points for the game on the Nintendo store is extreme despair filled endings. Holy fuck. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It is like gory. Like there's like, like a lot of blood in like it. So it's kind of red.
[01:09:26] Is the blood red? It's not pink. Yes. There's real red blood. It doesn't. It's so it's like. It's not purple. And the design for the kind of like the bosses in particular, not just the regular enemies, but the bosses is like fucking cool, like very nuts, very like disturbing.
[01:09:47] A lot of characters get killed unceremoniously, like and and like because you're going through the endings, like you're going through different things. So on route, like different routes, you'll see which characters are dead in a lot, like which ones are alive, which ones are dead in this route. And there's ones that are serious. And then there are ones that are just this is the comedy route and all of the choices are goops. And so it really branches out. And it's like.
[01:10:17] It's so fun. It's so fun. God damn it. We need to. I need Donkey Kong. I need this. I need there's like there's a lot of games that I really want to buy. But fuck. Yeah, that's I can see that being it's going to be a dangerous problem with with us doing this now because. Yep. Also, how long is it? How long is the playthrough Beth?
[01:10:45] So I did like a lot of stuff. So the first one all the way through probably like 2025. That's perfect. Perfect. But then you're going to want to do at least the second route. So that's another like 2025. That's perfect. Yeah. So, you know, and I would. I definitely want to play this game because I really, really liked Danganronpa and the Zero Escape game that we played.
[01:11:10] And then we also played that other one that's the Paranormal Sight. Yeah. That was awesome. So, like, I'm all in on this type of game. The thing that I like love about this game and something that I that these two guys who make the Zero Escape and Danganronpa series have really mastered is I really like when they just get into their insane mystery character drama like plot twist.
[01:11:39] Like every character has a secret. Every character is like, you know, and there's causing like they do like a really good job of doing this thing that I think you they introduce you to characters that seem annoyingly one dimensional. Like and they're like they are an archetype that you fucking cannot stand. Like and you're just like this person gets on my nerves.
[01:12:04] And then as you like play through the game, you explore, you learn more about them and you kind of get like their backstory. You see like pieces of like their resolve or their character quirks or the way that they like I don't know, they expand upon them. And then it goes from like hating characters or being like this person's irredeemable.
[01:12:26] I'm never going to really like them to getting this like insanely human moment out of this character that seems so just like larger than life anime bullshit over the top. And then they have like a conversation or two with like certain things and you're like, oh, there's something like really like real there that these people are putting into the these characters that you end up getting like mostly for almost all of them endeared to them. Even when like my like, I would say half the time they're acting like fucking nuts.
[01:12:56] Right. But like, I, I really think it's it's so good. And it does feel like a return to the the Danganronpa and Zero Escape glory days. Because I know that when they left to make this studio, there was a few games that they went came out with that were really not well received or were having some like technical issues and and stuff like that.
[01:13:26] Where this one really does feel like it's kind of their back. Like it feels like it's back. Like, I'll say this too. I've been wanting to use my Switch 2 so much as like a main console. I think I discussed this with you before. Like, I don't really play my PlayStation 5. Like, I had extra. I got rid of it because I was like, I just never I never really go on here to play these games. Mm hmm.
[01:13:55] Um, I do like I'm going to have a PlayStation to have the exclusive games because I love their exclusive games. But like, as far as having a console, that's like the console that I'm going to buy, like all my indies and just like if it's a third party game that's like on all platforms. If it runs really well on Switch 2, I'm just going to get it on Switch 2. Yeah. Because like for myself too, like I, I travel a lot for work.
[01:14:24] I bring that shit with me. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I could just my main console, I could just have wherever I want. And because of the improvement, by the way, like Nintendo didn't sell the idea of these Switch 2 upgrades enough because the, the amount that it changes your opinion on some of these games.
[01:14:48] I, I am actually so fucking excited for this Kirby Switch 2 update. Yeah, dude. I've beat, I've beat that Kirby game before and I will gladly, gladly play this Kirby game again. Like, I threw it on because I, I, I re-downloaded it. I threw it on and I was like, oh yeah, this game ran at 30 frames per second.
[01:15:11] The new one is going to run at 60 and it's going to incorporate a whole other fucking game kind of the way that they did that Bowser's Fury one. Oh yeah. Where they kind of like put Bowser's Fury in with, so that's kind of the idea. There's like a whole other extra game now plus the upgrade. And I'm so excited for that.
[01:15:34] But I also can't stress enough that I threw down Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet because it just ran like shit. But I blew through that game. Like that was such a good time. And I, even now I'm like, kind of want to get back in there and just like fucking. We can get the DLC. Yeah, I want to get the DLC. I'm going to get that. DLC is so good. It is.
[01:16:00] Aaron, I think we should get the DLC at the same time and play through. Jerry, we need, we need, we all of us need to play the Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC because that shit was so good. But Greg doesn't have a Switch. Oh. Greg, I can have my regular Switch. You have two Switches? I have a Switch and a Switch 2.
[01:16:23] Another thing I really love about the Switch 2 that a lot of people don't really talk about is how the eShop actually works. Yes. Like it doesn't chug or like doesn't lag behind by like 16 frames anymore. It actually works. It's snappy. It's good. Same with the Nintendo Switch Online. Oh, yeah. All that stuff works so bad. Like Tab or App or whatever. Yeah. It fucking, it actually works. It's not like a fucking web page. By the way. Yeah. We're talking about it. Real question. Real, real question. Real question.
[01:16:54] Let's go. Is there a way to turn off the autoplay for the trailers on the eShop or? No. I've tried. I asked AI. I was like, can you fucking fix this for me, please? Can you email Shigeru Miyamoto and say like how unhappy you are with this feature? That shit is annoying as fuck. Okay. I hate that. Okay. That's an aside. Yeah. I do not like that shit. I don't like that shit on Netflix either. Karen, Karen's profile on Netflix does it.
[01:17:22] I'm like, oh, it's so intrusive. Like, what? Yeah. Oh. Okay. That's, that's all. So what were you saying, Jerry? Nintendo Switch 2's game chat is fucking amazing. It's awesome. Yeah. I'm going to just say this right now. Greg, if you had a Switch 2, I would never, there would be a very, very seldom time that I would say, get on Discord.
[01:17:51] I would just say, get on game chat because it works so good. And it's, it's very easy. Like it, and the audio is. And to you, Jerry, I would say, no. Of course. Of course. Which is exactly what I would. I'm already on my, I'm already on my PC. I'm not going to turn on the Switch. And then we would just all have to end up on Discord anyways. Because Greg's like, I'm not doing that.
[01:18:20] But, but seriously, like game chat is, it is so cool. Probably the best version of any online chat baked into a console that I've seen. I think it's, it's better. It's better than the PS5s by quite a bit. Oh yeah. Because there's a microphone in the controller, doesn't it? The PS5? Yeah. Well, it's that, but also like just, just, I don't know, like, like starting like a, a chat party and stuff. Like, I don't know.
[01:18:49] It just, it's not as feature rich as game chat is. I feel like they're the exact same. It's just really impressive and exciting that it's on Nintendo and they didn't fuck it up. Like, maybe it's just like, I have such low expectations for what Nintendo can do with their online services. Yeah. And I'm like, this is fucking insane. It works. Well, that's what I just think it's good. Like, it's just like Discord. And I think. You don't need your fucking phone. Like you did with the, like the Switch one. Yeah.
[01:19:18] What kind of year with that? Yeah. That's what I feel. I feel like they're essentially, they feel functionally almost the same. Like you can even do the sharing of the video thing and with the PlayStation as well. So like, I think they're the same almost. Yeah. They're really the same, but it's just exciting and good that Nintendo didn't fuck it up. Um, yeah. And the microphone is built in. Yeah. I don't know about PlayStation.
[01:19:47] I'll also say too that I, I never ever in my life would have expected that I would be okay. Like comfortable even with having people's voices coming out of the TV and not wearing a headset. I wish you would wear a headset so that your voice came across better. But it's not going. It usually sounds fine. It doesn't sound bad. It just is like, you'd sound so distant. And sometimes I have to like really try.
[01:20:17] It's in a cupboard or whatever, isn't it? Yeah. No, I took it out of that. No, I took it out. So it, maybe it's a little bit clearer now. I don't know. But, um, yeah, I, I, I typically don't throw it, but see the thing is though, even if I put a headset on, that's not, that's not the audio that it's picking up on from like the input. It's taking it from your switch. So even though you're using Beth, as an example, if you're using those Apple headphones, the
[01:20:45] microphone is, is not the headphone microphone. Oh, you can change it though. Can't you? Yeah. That's what I, but it won't let you do it unless it's like an official Nintendo like thing. Oh, I thought it auto. That sucks. You can, you can use, you can use the heads. You can use your headphones. Like if you go into your system menu and go to audio and then it'll say like, which one you want to select as your input and output.
[01:21:13] I am pretty sure that I could be wrong though. I kind of want to, I want to see, I want you to test it out later and just let me know because I'm, I am curious if it says that your input is the headset, because I tried to do that with another headset and it would not let me use it as a, as a, okay. I'll, I'll try it out later. There has to, there has to be a way. Cause like half the time you're using the switch too, it's not going to be docked, you know, wander around with your little like microphone on a stick.
[01:21:42] Like you gotta have the, the, the microphone is, is built on, on the switch. Yeah. It's like on the top of the switch. That's, that's, I, I, because no matter how good it is, it's still going to sound like you're talking. That's what, that's why I was saying that it's like, there's sometimes Jerry, like, you know, I was talking and I genuinely like cannot hear it very well. And also, you know, ADHD.
[01:22:08] So it's like the, like the processing of the sounds, like it sometimes takes a minute. Yeah. Like I actively like having to really pay attention. Aaron and I had a full blown conversation while I was down the other end of my hallway. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not saying it doesn't pick it. I'm saying I, it's not that it doesn't like, I can't hear you and it does pick it up and it's not a bad microphone. I'm just saying the quality of it is not like the same as it is when you are on discord with
[01:22:37] like headphone. Beth earlier, you brought up, you said alien three, like Ripley falling into the lava on alien three. And then I kind of shuddered cause I hate aliens. Yeah, it's bad. Maybe. Sorry. Yeah. But as a massive alien fan, uh, there is that show coming out and I don't know.
[01:23:06] Did you, did you guys see the trailer for alien earth? Like the new trailer? I haven't seen that trailer. It looks fucking wild. Like it looks like a legit good alien show. Okay. And I think they're going to be using a lot of practical effects. Yeah. Please Nintendo, please fix the default fucking overlaps. Lay thing for the game chest. Sorry. My armpits are so sweaty, by the way, guys, that fucking reveal.
[01:23:35] But yeah, when you go into game or when you're in game chat, it defaults to like, like one tiny like section of the screen is like your screen and the rest is like the participants in the chat. Yeah. Let us change the default to just full screen. I don't want to see people's avatars and like shit. No, I find it crazy that you can't. And I feel like it only makes sense that they'll add to this. That we need that. You can customize that any fucking way you want. Sorry. Go on. I was going to say themes.
[01:24:05] They need themes. They need the game chat thing to you can choose your default. They need themes and they need to make it so you can turn off the autoplay in the eShop. And then I've got no more. Please. I'm good. I'm fucking good. If they don't have themes, I'm going to be so upset. The 3DS has themes. Why can't Switch have themes? What the fuck? I got another little complaint. But this is out there. This is like, this is my last complaint about the Switch 2.
[01:24:34] Their HDR is not right. The HDR doesn't work the way that it's supposed to on Switch 2. I've never noticed. I don't think a lot of things on Switch work like they're supposed to. Is this Nintendo? Eventually, we just spiral to like, man, the Switch 2 fucking sucks. No, but I mean, the HDR looks fine.
[01:24:57] But when you go to the slider and adjust it, it looks washed out if you set it the way that they're like, make it look like, you know how they say, like, adjust the screen until you can't see the left side or whatever. If you adjust it the way they say, it makes it look washed out. You almost need to like, I don't know. It's weird. Like, I had to follow like a step-by-step thing that I found on Reddit. Some guy was like, hey, I noticed the HDR is not right. If you just do this, it fixes it.
[01:25:27] And I did it. And I was like, oh, this looks way better. But the average person is probably not going to notice those things. I'm the average person. I didn't notice. There it is. Yes. But look, all I'm going to say is if Nintendo just keeps coming out and being like, hey, remember this game that was on Switch 1 and you avoided it like the plague because the performance was so garbage? Well, we just added an update now.
[01:25:54] Like, the second, the second that I hear that Xenoblade X is like getting a patch, I will throw money. Same thing with Pokemon Sword and Shield. I will throw money. Sword and Shield is pretty okay anyways. I'll buy all three of those things the second, the second they announce those patches. I want Super Monkey Ball 4K 120 FPS. Let's get it. I want to see that monkey like getting nauseous as fuck as he spins. I want to see that monkey.
[01:26:24] Let me see your monkey. I'm sorry, Beth. I don't know. There's something suspicious about that phrasing. No. No. Give me the monkey. No. I want to see your monkey. Oh, yep, yep, yep. There's something about that that I hear. Anywho. Random Recommendated Games? I think so. I think it's a good time to do it. Random Recommendated Games.
[01:26:54] Well, it's the saddest part of the show. We got to say goodbye now, but we're going to leave you with some presents. We're going to recommend some random games. And maybe we won't even. Maybe we'll keep a secret. Maybe we'll keep all of our things a deep, dark secret and be like, no, I'm not telling you anything. Wow. Plot twist. Sometimes you can even recommend a show or like an album or something like we did a couple times. Yeah.
[01:27:20] Maybe we need to change it from random Recommendated Games to just random Recommendated Things. Stuff. Random Recommendated Stuff. Greg, do you have anything that you can recommend to the listeners that they should stop what they're doing right now and go play, watch, listen to? Touch. Grass. Go for a game.
[01:27:50] Everyone should go touch grass. That goes without saying. But I'll recommend the game. For a game, go play Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Traitor. Oh. If you like Baldur's Gate 3, but you also like Warhammer 40K, it'll be right up your alley. Hell yeah. And if you, I'll recommend a location. If you're in the Toronto area, go to Little Canada. It seems lame, but it's fucking fun as hell. It's fucking fun as hell.
[01:28:19] That did look really cool. You were sending us some pictures of like Newfoundland stuff and we were like, oh, that's really cool. Fucking jungle, like little mini jungle gyms. Yeah. Yeah. Aaron, I think you would love a jungle gyms. Gotta go. Jungle gyms. You strike me as the kind of person that would enjoy a chain restaurant with a fun theme. Oh, if you want a nice fried plate of brown. Fried plate of brown.
[01:28:45] What I'm hearing is, I'm hearing spontaneous trip to Newfoundland as a group. Oh my God. Aaron would pass away if we got him onto the island of Newfoundland. He's never seen the fucking ocean. What? I told him to go to Lake Michigan and lie to his kids and tell them that that was the ocean. Oh my God. Okay. Yeah. You've been to many beaches, but never the ocean. The ocean's just too far away. It's like fucking 20 hours away. Yeah. In every direction. Cause we're in the middle. We're in Iowa. Yeah.
[01:29:15] Yeah. It'd be really, it'd be insane to like, if the fort was just like, went to Newfoundland for some reason. And that's it. And we're like, look at the puffins. Look at the whales. And Aaron's just like. Oh, I'll take a puffin home. What is this water? Why is there so much water? Puffins are hilarious. Because I learned a puffin fact where they eat so much fish that they can't fly. So they flap. Me too, puffins.
[01:29:42] So they, so they, they flap their wings like really frigging hard and just kind of like skip along the water. So cute. All of them. That's usually how my days go. I just go overeat. And then I'm like, oh fuck. I got that Brazilian steakhouse. I got that Brazilian steakhouse. You went to. I love that. Oh God. I had the meat sweats like so bad. That was insane. Oh shit. Yeah. It's fantastic. Yeah. Newfoundland is a fun.
[01:30:09] And also just to tack on to your little, your little Newfoundland thing. Greg was in Newfoundland and he, he picked up a, like a, what was it? Like a game or something that had like Newfie sayings. And Beth and I were like, he was telling us some of these, some of this shit we've never heard. But then there was other things. And I was explaining this to Karen that we would like hear Greg would say like, this expression.
[01:30:37] And we'd be like, oh, well it's just this one word is different. And he was like, well, no, none of that makes sense to me. And we're like, really? Like there's still things that we say that we don't even realize that are like very exclusive to Newfoundland lingo. Yeah. There was, I don't remember what it was like, what it was, but. No, I'll tell you what it was. You'll put on the one of the bigger ones. No, no, no. There was one where, where, where if someone said they were shit. Yes. Okay. Aaron, Aaron. Yes.
[01:31:06] If, if, if I were to say that I am shit baked, what does that mean? It can't mean that you're baked, like you're covered in shit, right? Like caked in shit. No, no. Just your gut. What does that mean? If I was like, dude, I can't, I'm shit baked. Like you're really, really drunk. That's funny. Cause that's exactly what Greg was. No. I said like drunk or stoned or, or some of that. What is it?
[01:31:36] That's not what that means. Yeah. Shit baked is scared. Yeah. And then they're both like, well, but you know, you know, like you're shit baked. I'm like, no guys, that's not the way I would ever use that. There was another one that Greg said that I, he, it was like a sentence. And I was like using half of the sentence to explain it. Cause I didn't know any, like, I was like, yeah. And he's like, no, I have no idea what you're talking about. And I was like, oh, I thought that what, like, I was like, I thought the first part was the part you, but it's the whole thing.
[01:32:05] So yeah, there was a lot of little cute. What was it? What was the other one that you said? Oh, I don't know. Oh, I know what it was. It was, um, I handy about died. Oh, that was the one we were like, just, that was the one we were like, uh, that just means I just about died. That's some UK shit. That doesn't make any goddamn sense to me. Yeah. And that was the one that we were like, oh, that just means we just about died. And Greg was like, still doesn't make sense. Well, yeah. You know, you just about died. And he's like, no wrong. It means like, you're laughing on the floor.
[01:32:31] I'm like, we were like, yeah, that's what you, you know, it means to like die laughing. You died. You died at it. That's just an expression that Newfie say. Yeah. Like we died laughing. We died. I die at that. Yeah. I dies at it. I dies at it. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe we'll have to have a full segment of just like, new shit. No, Greg just interviews a bunch of new fees. Yeah. He's alive on the street. You'd have to, yeah.
[01:33:01] You have to specifically make it new, new, new shit. Not Canada. Yeah. Or the, a lot of it is not mutually exclusive. Or then we can all quiz Aaron on his Canada knowledge. That would be funny. You know what's been crazy? What's been crazy is saying the name of like a food that is like a staple here. Yeah. That Aaron's like, the fuck are you talking about? And I'm like, I'm sure he has some fun food. Like Alphagetti or whatever the fuck you were saying. Alphagetti. Alphagetti. None of us knew what that was. Nobody knows what that is in the U.S.
[01:33:31] You're like, you're talking French at that point. That's insane. It'll be funny how to do. We are part French. It's just, it's like the same thing as like. Yeah. There's. They're both exactly the same thing with different. There's a lot of shit. Like even just in the state of Iowa, there's, there's like regional differences with shit. Like when I first moved down to where my wife lives, they called, uh, maybe she's down here right behind. There's an animal they call a squinny that, uh, over in, in my neck of the woods in Iowa,
[01:33:59] we called it like, uh, uh, like a, not a groundhog, but like, uh, something like that. They call it a squinny. Yeah. Or like, uh, like a prairie dog. Prairie dog. There we go. We call them squinnies. We just call them prairie dogs. And I was like, where the fuck is this squinny? Yeah. There's a lot of. That's crazy. We got them. We get them out here too. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. They're always just dead. A lot of raccoons. A lot of raccoons. Yeah. We never used to have raccoons, but now we do. You guys got them in Toronto. Yeah.
[01:34:29] Oh, do you guys pet them? They live here. You guys pet them? I wish. You should never do that. Do not, please. Let's just go pet the raccoons. Totally safe. Unless you want like a little bit of rabies. Don't rabbits. A little bit of rabbits. Rabbis. There was this huge, huge, huge round rotund, like massive raccoon. That was like. Rotund raccoons? Rotund raccoon. That's my favorite Marvel character. Rotund raccoon.
[01:34:55] And he was at the back door and I scared him and watching him waddle away because his like was so round. He takes off like fucking Chris Farley. Just like. He tried to run away, but it was. Struggling to breathe and run. Poor guy. Yeah. Aaron, what do you got for random recommendations? Oh, what the fuck?
[01:35:21] My random recommended game is one that I've talked about on the show on the old show on Superpod Saga a couple of times. But Evo Lings, I'm back on my shit. But the power was out for a couple hours here because of a big thunderstorm we had. We had no power. So I was like, okay, I'll play Evo Lings for like two hours. And yeah, it's like a Pokemon like roguelike. You'll you'll wander through this Slay the Spire like map. You can. What is it? Capture a new Evo Lings. You're not capture.
[01:35:51] Like you'll just recruit a new Evo Lings. That's what I was looking for. Recruit. There's battles. There's question marks where it'll be like dodge this attack or you take damage or like your party is healed or like spin this wheel and get like money or another Evo Lings. Or there's like a slot machine where you can win exclusive Evo Lings there too. And if you get like three of the same Evo Lings, you can fuse them together into like one mega super cool Evo Lings. Like fuse three peppermints to make a candy cane.
[01:36:19] You could fuse three marshmallows to make. I forget what the fuck that makes. But s'mores. I know you need chocolate and graham cracker. I'm sorry. It was something like that. But the Evo Lings are all stupid and cute. And you can make some really cool fusions with them. And the combat is just pretty much like Slay the Spire. Like you can see what enemies are going to do. And you can plan accordingly. Like have this Evo Lings defend that one to like block an attack.
[01:36:46] And then have this Evo Lings apply poison to that one. Shit like that. There's the combat is just fucking brutal. It's hard as shit later in the game. And yeah, it's fun. You'll unlock more Evo Lings as you go along and beat more bosses. And there's cool like relics just like there are in Slay the Spire where they give cool passive effects. Like a mirror that makes it so when you heal, you'll do that much damage to enemies.
[01:37:13] Or like you'll roll some dice and just do damage to an enemy or something. There's a lot of really cool synergies you can cook together on the fly. And it's a really fucking fun game. It's like eight bucks on Switch. And I think like four bucks, four or five bucks on Steam. So get it on Switch. On your ultimate gaming machine, get it on Switch 2. It's awesome. The music gets really annoying because it's like the same shit all the time. When you're on like the world map, it's like boop. Ba-do-do-do-do-do-do. And it's really loud and annoying.
[01:37:43] But yeah. Beth, what you got? You got anything? It should be Evillings. It better be Evillings. It isn't. Sorry. Fuck. I'm going to say download and play Pokemon Unite. Yes. It is the fourth anniversary. It is free to download. It's the fourth anniversary. So they're doing a lot of kind of like updates.
[01:38:06] There's some things that are, I believe for like new people coming in, there are a couple more like free things going on. Like if you can get more licenses is what they call like getting new Pokemon to be able to go in and do the battles in. And it's fun. And I really want more people to get back into it because its user base has kind of dropped off. And that leads to long queue times and really bad matchmaking.
[01:38:36] And it'd be really fun. And they have a new 500 point mode. That's really, really addicting. I think it's fun. It's good to play. And now is a great time because they finished with the China version. Like that's out now. So the team is focusing now on this game again. So they've recommitted and they're going to be releasing the release schedule for new Pokemon and updates and stuff. Seems to really be picking it up.
[01:39:04] Like going into like overdrive now. So I think that it's a great time to get into it. Try it out. There's a lot of really good resources online. If you want to look at like best builds and stuff. Or if you just want to fucking go in and play Pokemon and have some quick matches. Whatever. Whatever.
[01:39:25] It's great because like even if you either don't play MOBAs or like you dabble kind of in like League or something like that. Pokemon Unite is like a very like beginner friendly version of something like that. Like it's got the same like view style where it's kind of like top down and you'll go to like your towers and shit. And you'll dunk points on the enemies. Do a cool slam dunk.
[01:39:49] But you don't have to worry about like complex builds and understanding stats. It's just like okay I'm playing Snorlax. What do I need? I want defense. Leftovers. And a fucking focus band or whatever. Slap it on him. You're good to go. Like any knowledge you have of like Pokemon. Does translate. Yeah. It does translate. Like not like there's no weaknesses or resistances or anything like that. That doesn't matter at all.
[01:40:15] But like if you know what items do and you know like what Pokemon are good at what in the like regular Pokemon games. That yeah. That'll translate. And like when you go into a match it recommends what lane you should do. So like it like kind of gives you a lot of direction. Please. Please use the recommended lanes. Yeah. Please. You don't need three people on one lane. Don't do that. Yeah. But it's fun. I think like you said it is like I'm not super.
[01:40:44] I'm not into MOBAs. Like really. I played Paragon when it was a thing. Throwback. Yeah. And that was fun. But that's my only experience with it. And I've only played it with my friends. And but this one I went into. And I think it has like if you like Pokemon. They're like the leveling up to five. And then you like you do hit the stages. So you'll if you want to be char like your Charizard. It's like well you are Charmander. And then you're Charmeleon. And then you're Charizard.
[01:41:11] So like it has like aspects that like do that like little tingly dopamine hit that Pokemon gives you. And yeah. I think it definitely is. If you're a Pokemon fan it's fun. If you like MOBAs it's fun. If you like online games it's fun. Or you know you want something to play. If you have a brand new Switch 2 and you want something to play on it. It does have a better performance on the Switch 2. Great thing to try out. Oh does it? Yeah. I didn't realize that. Because it's and it's free on Switch 2.
[01:41:41] There's like a lot of reasons to give it a shot. There's really cool costumes too. Like some of them have like full-blown tuxedos. Or like a Spanish outfit or something like that. So you guys are both like inclined to play things that have costumes. I've noticed this. Because the second that I said that Donkey Kong can wear different pants that have stats and different ties that have stats. Aaron you like that's when I seen the sweat stains. That's when they started. Yep.
[01:42:11] That's when it all fell apart. Yeah. I love unlockable costumes and shit. Well my random recommended game doesn't have anything unlockable. But it is probably one of the most challenging co-op experiences I've had. That's we were here forever. I've been playing this. I feel bad because I was asked upon Beth's request to play this game.
[01:42:38] Because it is very much like it's basically like an escape room. And you have to communicate. Like you must communicate with this game. Because you're having to describe in really, really great detail what you're seeing. And then how figuring out how that pertains to the other person. And then the other person explaining what they are seeing. And essentially what you're doing is in first person you're going through these areas and progressing.
[01:43:08] And they're like scenarios where it's like an escape room. Like each level feels like an escape room. And man do you have to use your fucking brain to figure this shit out. And I'm playing it with my friend Jake. Bless his heart. I've been friends with this guy damn near my whole life. We argue. Like him and I play this game and peak. And we shouldn't. We shouldn't be playing this together. Because he is awful at communicating. He is the downfall of communication. In our relationship.
[01:43:38] He does not communicate. And I'm like constantly yelling at him. Like dude explain to me what the fuck it is that you see on your screen. Like what color are the fucking shapes. And he's like does it matter. I'm like yeah fucking matters. Matters a lot actually. And he's like well fuck there. Some of them are red. Some of them are blue. I'm like which ones are red. And then it just. And then after 30 straight minutes of that. We're like dude this game is so fucking good though. Because like we're really smart. Like we're really getting through this together. And like we're really patting ourselves on the back.
[01:44:07] But then like the second something comes up. It's like dude you're not. You're not fucking telling me what color the shit is. Like we're just constantly yelling at each other. And I know that that wouldn't happen with. With you guys. Is because. Well I mean even just playing peak. Like clear line of communication. Everybody's talking with each other. Everybody's calm. Unless we're dead. Until Greg decides to have. Until Greg decides to yell out. Heart of a champion. And then you know. Shit's either gonna go. You know that some shit's gonna get really really fucking cool.
[01:44:36] Like last action hero kind of shit. Heart of a champion. Heart of a champion. And that's just a dead like camper from peak. You gotta have the heart of a champion. Or why even bother playing it? But yeah. Check out We Were Here Forever. It's a really cool co-op game. It's actually really cheap. It's $11 Canadian on Steam right now. I would go check that out. It's super fun. But you will have to find somebody. You're gonna have to have at least one friend.
[01:45:08] That's the hardest part. The hardest part is making friends. But yeah. That does it. That's our first episode of the Holy. What is it if it's not a trinity? If it's a... The Holy Quadrilogy? I don't know. The Holy Quadrilogy? Oh yeah.
[01:45:38] Because the alien quadrilogy. We're a quartet. Yeah. The Holy Quartet. The ultimate. Holy Quartet. I like that. Like we're a chorus or something. Yeah. That's it. It's a quartet. Don't worry. But yeah. Aaron. Get us out of here. Tell everybody what they can do in the meantime. Where they can find us. Just kidding. Please don't. Touch grass. Touch grass. Eat your vegetables. Play nice. Share your toys.
[01:46:11] If you can find her. You can slide into Aaron's DMs for that. Yeah. Slide into Aaron's DMs and let them know how you feel about Gaza and Israel. Oh fuck. Please don't. Yeah. Superghost.site. That's the new website. All of our shit is there. You can check out all of the Old Superpod Saga episodes if you want to. You don't have to. But yeah. All of the socials be in there too. Yeah. You should. It's good shit. Yeah. You should check it out. All that stuff.
[01:46:40] We'll have a link to Superghost Radio too. Yeah. And that's the thing. Like the Superghost Radio and Superpod Saga episodes. They're not going anywhere. That's just like you can go back and listen to those however way you want. You might benefit in some ways because there might be some inside jokes taken from both sides of these shows that are now going to just be baked into here. And we're not going to sit down and explain them to you. We don't have time for that. There's too many games to play. Too many shows to watch.
[01:47:10] Too many movies to see. Tons of stuff. Tons of stuff. And honestly if there's something that you think you would like us to review or play on a stream or something. By all means let us know in any of the comment sections on our videos or the podcasts. Check out the video versions of these. I'm sure that we're going to be on.
[01:47:36] Well myself at least I'll be on camera a lot more in some of these things and we'll see. We'll see what happens. We'll see what happens. It's going to be super. If you haven't been able to tell we are excited about this. This is super exciting. I'm excited to do some cool things. And yeah. Thanks everybody for coming along for the ride. You're welcome. Thank you Jerry. You're welcome actually.
[01:48:07] Cool. Just you're welcome. And Greg do you have a final thought to share with the audience? No. Okay. The more you know. It's just Greg. There's no. It's like Jerry Springer's. And here's my final thought. Just. No. Here's Greg's. Here's Greg's strong opinion of the week. Heart of champion. Yes.
[01:48:36] Everybody go out there and live your life like the heart of a champion. Yes. Please do. All right. We'll catch you guys in the next one. Goodbye. Everybody say bye. Bye. Bye. To the listeners. Say bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
